Checked out Coop Chicken by the Burlington lakefront and it was a good spot. Loved the location, especially with free street parking after 6 pm - a rare treat for us Toronto folks. The vibe was nice, chill, and perfect for a casual dinner. We went for the special of the day, chicken fingers with hot sauce, and they were spicy and crispy, with plenty of sauce to go around. The fries were alright, nothing to write home about though - ended up leaving them halfway. The mac n cheese bites gave comfort food vibes. The Coop is a chicken joint on the very scenic Brant Street. In summers, they have a shaded patio with umbrellas. The front windows of the restaurant also open up so even if you can't find a space on the patio, you can still enjoy the outdoors. Their specialties are fried chicken and tenders but they also have burgers, salads, and sandwiches that feature the aforementioned. I had sauced up chicken tenders with BBQ sauce. Sort of expensive at $15 for 5 pieces before tax but it does come with some carrots and celery, even if they were a little dried out. At the end of the day, it was tasty. The staff were pretty nice. First time here. We came here for the first time tonight. Ordered the dirty chicken tacos, buffalo chicken tacos with crumbled blue cheese and blue cheese sauce and side of onion rings. The tacos were $13.99 and you only get 2. Thought it would be 3, so we were quite disappointed. The tacos were small but very satisfying and kinda filling. There was picture on the menu that showed 3 tacos too which is why we felt a bit bummed. The dirty chicken ones weee not very spicy, had a nice bit of General Tso sauce and a hint of pineapple salsa. The buffalo chicken one had good favor and had a decent amount of blue cheese also. The side of onion rings were $6.99 each and it was a very small portion of them. The aioli sauce was good but unfortunately some of the sauce ended spilling out of the container and onto the plate. They were not greasy which was very good too. The temperature was definitely not freshly friend and brought to table. They were rather on the colder side of warm. Wait staff and hostess were nice though and the music was not loud and blaring in the background. You can actually hear the people at your table when you're talking to them. The tables were small square sized and chairs were very tall almost like a high chair. So that is a bit awkward for shorter patrons. I came in for lunch with a friend at around 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. The place is spotless and follows all usual Covid restrictions. We ordered the onion petal because my friend saw it on Instagram and wanted to try it. I got the fried chicken waffle with a side of Cesar salad, and she ordered the coop chicken sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The appetizer (the onion ) was somewhat disappointing, as it didn't look anything like what we saw in pictures, and wasn't as crispy as what we would've liked, but the breading was yummy so it's okay. On to the REAL DEAL: the ENTRES!! Oh my lord. I have a food coma right now so it's hard to type but let me try and break it down; I started with my side of Cesar salad, which was absolutely delicious! The lettuce was fresh and crisp (as were the crotons), the bacon was savoury and delicious, and it was topped with a mountain of Parmesan cheese. I would literally come back just to order this Cesar salad again, so don't sleep on it! My main dish was the chicken waffle, and it was hands down the best chicken waffle I've ever had in my life. The chicken was perfectly fried and still moist (I hate that word but it applies) and tender. The waffle was made in house (the whole restaurant smelt like my waffle and I loved that!), and it was soft and buttery. Together they made the best southern comfort food. The bourbon syrup it comes with is also perfectly paired, but you'll have to ask for a second one if you want to get that Smokey yummy sweetness all over the gigantic portion. The sriracha mayo was spicy and creamy, but I don't really see how it fits this meal, I don't know why I ordered it, but it's all good. I also asked for bacon on top, because, well, I like bacon. It was absolutely delicious! My friend ordered the Coop sandwich (apparently a best seller). I took a bite off of it (for the sole purpose of this review) and I was greeted by the same juicy tender fried chicken paired with fresh lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and American cheese. So yummy. My friend's side dish, the coleslaw, was so good and sweet and tangy that we ordered another one just to share it. As for the service, it was honestly so great. Everyone was sweet and welcoming. We asked the manager to please turn down the volume of the blaring music, and he said he couldn't do it in-house. So he literally got on the phone with someone and TURNED IT DOWN for us!! THAT is customer service! Our server was also super sweet. The food arrived quickly and was served hot and fresh. Honestly 10/10 maybe one of the best spots I've been to in Burlington and will definitely come back for more (on cheat days, definitely on cheat days). read more

This place is so good to our kids from 1 to 9 years old. Our 1 year old son was being restless and impatient waiting for food to arrive. The server brought bowl full of toys that our kids could pick to keep. They were happy kids shortly after. Now about the food, we ordered fried deviled eggs. OH! So good. The egg part was the only fried so it wasn't 100% fried. Better this way. This place is awesome! Came across this place late at night on the way back to Toronto from Niagara and not only were they open but also so nice and accommodating. The place is decked out in comic book, 80s music and other odd decor that sets the atmosphere just right and creates a cool vibe. The food is outstanding. The menu is simple but has a lot of variety. Looking around, fried chicken is the top item ... just chicken, in a sandwich, taco, and wings. You can have it many ways. I chickened out (ha... see what I embarrassingly did there) and just got a vegetarian 'chicken feed' salad cause I was full from the day before. We also got the fried chicken on the cob salad. For starters, I had NO idea how much food we'd get but this was generous and not filled with just random filler. Honestly... very good and I would say worth ordering again. We also started with the sriracha cauliflower and they definitely know how to deep fry things here. Light crispy, and flavourful. Another solid option. The best way I can think of this place is a Bro who wanted to open the best bar food he could create and went to Cordon Bleu for an education but opened a bar that is true to himself. We ordered a few apps and sides online for pickup today but when we arrived at the restaurant the order hadn't been relayed from the provider. The manager on duty (Courtney?) quickly had the kitchen get started on preparing the order based on the email receipt and apologised for the delay while offering me a comlimentray drink while I waited. The food was prepared quickly but quality certainly wasn't affected. Plus while I waited i got to enjoy the great decor (toys from 80s onward), while watching an episode of the classic animated My Pet Monster and I even could have played a game of mario cart on the wii they had setup. Came for brunch with a friend on a weekend, it was both of our first times there. Location was good and the interior was clean. They had board games for tables to use, which I saw a few tables doing. Great idea. Unfortunately the food just was not very good at all. Overpriced for what you received. Possibly we made bad menu choices (breakfast sandwich, and burrito) - but even at a lower price the food was still bad. Tortilla was stale, eggs were dry, no flavour at all. Breakfast sandwich came with one piece of bacon on what looked to be a grocery store burger bun. Just really underwhelming. Perhaps if we'd tried their Benny (which I saw a few tables order) we would have had a better experience, but for such a small menu to have two very big misses - I can say I won't come back to test out that theory. It was too loud- even he host had to say "huh" a few times, when asking us where we want to sit. We told her it was dirty and she tried scratching off the oil, then slammed down a new one. Right then, we thought of leaving. The beer was watered down and the Mule was served in an old soup can. Barf!!! We weren't asked by our server if we'd been there before, so we had no clue what the items were about, or how they were served. She never came to ask us if our food was ok-- which it wasn't! The food was bland and the chicken was under cooked. Even after making eye contact with the server several times, I eventually had to go up to the cash (and interrupt the server --on her phone again), to ask for a glass of water-- which was slammed down and served to me in a small, plastic Dixie cup--warm! Once we were finished eating-and sitting there for about 15 minutes with the food trays untouched in front of us; I had to go back up to the cash to tell her we were done and we literally had to ask for the bill, because she kept staring down at her phone. All the waitstaff and management were walking around mindless- while stuffing food in their faces the entire time. As a Patron, I felt as though we were an inconvenience eating there. This place is disgusting! If I want great chicken, I'm going to Wings Up! (No- that's not a plug, it's just the truth). read more

Happened upon this new eatery today for lunch. My wife spotted it on her way home and thought it would be a good place to take our kids to. It is certainly refreshing to see a fun, hip, family friendly place in Burlington. The kids were really looked after...games, make your own soda, and awesome kids menu.
