I showed up dressed pretty casual (jeans, black shirt, and sneakers) last night and was denied entry. Considering this place is advertised as a sports bar and it doesn't state anywhere on its flyers that there's a dress code I figured I'd be fine. I was denied entry for my sneakers, even after I told them I drove 40 minutes and checked they're website for the dress code and there was none. The bouncer stated "It turns into a night club later and people come dressy later on, but if they were all black I would've let you slide." Luckily, my cousins fiance had an extra pair of shoes, in his car, I could borrow. When I came back, another bouncer said my shoes were ok, but he doesn't know about my shirt, saying I might get kicked out later on. Flash forward a couple hours later, I see guys in there with hoodies, hats, white Jordans, timbs, etc! I was so upset, because we almost drove back home to change my shoes, just to see other people wearing timbs! The music was 90% reggaeton and dembow with a few clashes of hip hop or Latin music that faded back in to reggaeton/dembow. They're fishbowl drinks are small for $20 and they're weak. Our server was pretty good. A little slow but overall wasn't bad. The lobby is way better all around and won't be going back to the barcode anytime soon read more

I've been to Barcode a handful of times now && each time have left always wanting to come back! Amazing atmosphere, staff, food, drinks & music. I've gone plenty just with 1 or 2 other people & also have held family events and get togethers there with around 40 people. The staff there is able to handle any accommodations. Ambience is great the sound lights shows atmosphere etc everything is good here accept the rude bouncers at the door that pick and choose who can come in or not so dress to par because you will have a regular get in with Jordan's and a white tee but if your not from here you won't get in and secondly the drinks are through a machine and the prices to the sky so a regular Whiskey/Cognac and Coke drink that is normally 10oz everywhere else for about $8-$10 a drink here is $15 and 1lbs of ice 1oz of liquor 6oz of your mix.. for $15 a drink you should be getting a double and the doubles are $22 which is what you will have to order anyway to taste alcohol. Went in for a fun night out with the girls and got just that! We were taken care of by Lissete who went above and beyond to make our night. She recommended her favorite drinks and snacks and didn't steer us wrong. She turned a regular night out into a great experience (and took the best pictures of us to prove it). A lot of servers will give you an attitude and make you feel like a bother but by the end of the night she was a part of our crew and made the night more fun. I went to barcode for the first time on Saturday February 23, and I must say that from beginning to end it was an incredible experience, the crowd, the music, and atmosphere were great. But what made my visit memorable was the great customer service I received from a bartender name Jimena, she was very attentive, and her personality was very charismatic, and helpful. One of my friends spilled her drink and she didn't hesitate to help replace her drink. Definitely recommend this place, and 100% will be going back. read more

There are definitely better places to go to. For starters they have a dress code which I don't understand why? It's basically a glorified bar - not like a fancy lounge in the city.....Girls are free to get in but for men the fee to get in is $25-$35.... WTF??? if I could put zero stars I would. First off, the entry fee for guys was $25... normally it is only $25 if someone special is performing, and this was just a regular night. With that being said, the music was awful. Instead of being a mixture of genres, it was ALL House music. Secondly, they raised the credit card minimum to 50 dollars. $25 minimum I can understand, but 50 dollars? come on now. Third, two HOUSE vodka cranberries were $22 in total... This place looks nice, However is not. Just to start a cover of 20 dollars. If you are a girl you can't get near the table or the bar because one of the staff 2 seconds later you will ask you very rude to leave the table if you don't buy a bottle. Or you can't be near the bar even if you have a drink they ask you to move they rather to attend male customers. The staff is very annoying asking to purchase something like every 5 minuets. If you decide to get a drink be prepared because you must spend 25 as minimum to pay with card. Price is insane 200 and above for a bottle. There is not really a dance floor which I don't like. First of all, this little shitty "bar" located in ELIZABETH has no place to have standards like NYC clubs. This place is trash! The bartender had an attitude. It didn't look like she wanted to be there or serve anyone. The security guy is creepy. I lowkey had to snatch my ID back. Such a pretty venue and sexy vibe. Came here with my friends and was greeted with smiles and great service. We got bottle service-everything came out quickly and the waitress kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Before the night was over we decided to try out their food (yes, they still serve food at 3am) and ended up ordering the platter, which was to die for and the pizza-not your standard bar pizza. This pizza was a concoction of some amazing ingredients and I have to say we were impressed and indulged. Started off cool, it was empty and $2 Tuesday. We just wanted some food and drinks. The waiter didn't speak a lick of English and couldn't get our order right after 3 times. This place was horrible!!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would! I walked in on a Sunday night with one of my girls. We went to catch up and have a few drinks and food. We went in the guy checked our IDs. Then this guy Hugh stood there and told my friend and I that he had to pat us down!! They way he looked at my friend and I like we were a piece of meat (licking his lips and all) was very off setting. We told him that we did not want him to touch us and if that was the policy we would rather have a female security pat us down. His response, "it's 2017 so things change." My friend and I were so digusted and the guy that checked our IDs just sat there and didn't say anything at all. Finally we asked to speak with a Manager and Hugh told us that he was one of the managers (which was a lie). We then asked to talk to another manager and he told us to "look for him." A VERY DISAPPOINTING NIGHTCLUB Barcode has never disappointed me at being the worst experience night club I ever been to and I've given it many chances. 1st Night: A rageful night like I remember it. Me and my friend had the spontaneous idea to go to barcode after work. We got to the place at at 12. Giving us 3 hours before the place shut down. Plenty of time for a good night. We waited in line in one of a the most busiest nights of barcode. Almost a 20 minute wait. It was so suffocating when we went inside. We headed to the bar and wanted to order a bottle. It was understandable to me that there was a lot of people and there wasn't enough staff members or bartenders to take care of everyone. But there was one particular bartender, that I made eye contact with. We were at the front of the bar fianally after 30 minute wait. I observed the people she attended, and I noticed she began to serve people that came after us. This went on for about 10 minutes. I began to get rageful and impatient. Because it's been 40 minutes and we didn't manage to get a drink. She eventually made eye contact with me and was about to ask me what I wanted to order, and a man behind me was yelling his order and she unprofessionally deviated her attention almost in an attempt to diss me with a grin on her face and served the man behind me. I became so angry and I told my friend I was about to lose it any minute. Now it wasn't a matter of the place being crowded with people. This female bartender was purposely not trying to serve us. When she finally made her way to me in an arrogant fashion I said "you're finally ready for my order. Thank you" she walked away from me literally with an attitude. I called her back and told her that I've been waiting to order a bottle for an hour and 10 minutes and if she doesn't wanna serve me she could have someone else serve me. She went to speak to the other bartenders and I heard their convo as she told them she didn't wanna serve me, and the other bartenders didn't know even want to come serve me. Almost like saying "sorry I don't wanna help you" at this point I don't know what is going on. She told the same female bartender Instead to get the bottle. She came over to me with it very arrogantly, and asked my friend for the card as if she didn't see that I was there ready to pay. I gave her my card And me and my friend headed out to the lobby. It was now 1:45 and we had a full bottle with us for just two people. We tried to make the best of it, but didn't even manage to drink 1/4 of the bottle before the place was getting ready to shut down. It was a 350 dollar bottle with gratuity already included. And they were forcing us to empty our bottles as we couldn't take them outside the building. I was bloody red with fury. I wanted to speak to a manager. I told a friend of mine that worked there to get the manager for me and I heard them talking and immediately I knew this guy was gonna give me a hard time. All he told me was "I'm going to look into it" I was angry that gratuity was even given to this terrible bartender. I went to desperately speak to someone and the person that came out was a female manager that was defending her worker saying she never acts like this when several of the workers I knew at barcode begged to differ. I spoke to a friend of mine Susana one the owners friends, Supposedly she was the one that gave Eddy G the owner of the nightclub some startup money to open up the business, she says she would talk to him about getting a compensation, but this man was tipsy the night we spoke to him and he didn't care about our concern. A wasted night is what it was. 350 dollars down the drain. 2nd night The second night at barcode a security guard at barcode wanted to overstep his boundaries doing a search to one of my friends. He accused him of having a weapon in his pocket when he didn't. He only searched me for no more than 5 seconds, but to my friend dressed in normal clothes he searched for 3 minutes. My friend even told me he was even a bit sexual in his search and so My friend became aggressive asking him what his problem was and why he was being unnecessary after he shouted him he was clean. We weren't even in the club and we already were having problems. He told my friend he couldn't enter the building and We had to go somewhere else that night because of that little drama. 3rd night. I don't have many characters left. But The security guards defended some crazy maniac accusing us of stealing his card, and forced us to empty our pockets after hours. We involved the cops and filed a police report. And got everything on footage. 4th night. I ordered drinks and some took my card without my ID. Getting ready to close my tab she says I never gave it to her, when I did give it to her. She says she normally would ask for it and place the card next to the ID and couldn't find it. It was a big drama all because she didn't ask for the ID. read more

Don't even bother visiting this place! I went in yesterday to watch a soccer game in the giant TVs that was only being shown via PPV. They had been advertising that they would show it there via their social media and even text message alerts. I even called ahead of time just to double check. They did not have it ready for when the game started. What kind of sports bar isn't prepared to live stream a game? The whole point of me going there was to watch the game. I literally missed the whole first half (45mins) in between having hope that the signal would work and arguing with their staff. No one was helpful and no matter how many times I asked to talk to the manager, this one never came around. Their customer service was awful. At no point were they even apologetic AND they still charged us for all we had drank (a couple of beers at that point). There were no intentions of trying to keep customers pleased or any signs that they even cared about the issue. I understand that technical issues can happen, but their response to the whole situation was so unprofessional. Why have such a large working crew, but nobody trained to deal with customers? Literally, not one person seemed to care about a bunch of upset customers. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Barcode somehow manages to get many things right, but also many things wrong. Went on a Sunday evening for food, drinks, and pool. The music was good, but entirely too loud. Headache inducing. This made it impossible to hold a conversation, for the bartender to hear your order, or to enjoy the music itself. It might be ok for a full club on Saturday night, but for a relatively empty bar on Sunday evening it was overkill. To their credit, they turned the music down at our request, but it was back to full blast within 15 minutes. We all had sore throats and gravelly voices the next day from screaming so loud. The next issue was poor communication with the servers. Our server didn't even speak conversational English, which made it frustrating to place an order. She needed a go between translator from the kitchen to take a pretty simple order. Next, the service itself was slow and we had to ask for new drinks, water, and refills several times. You'd ask for a cocktail and a water and she'd come back with just the cocktail. You'd remind her of the water then she'd come back with food and no water etc. when I finally got a water there was a strange foam on top of it. On a positive note, the food was pretty good. It was fresh and well prepared. I especially liked the wings. They were slow to bring the check and generally didn't check on us very much, especially given that it wasn't that busy. The crowd was fine and everyone seemed to have a good time. It would've been nice to have different sports on each screen but all screens showed soccer. In general if this place works on customer service and hospitality, they'd do much better. read more

The service here is equivalent to a cheap bar in a third world country. Like a cheap outfit, it looks good on the outside, but the quality is awful. They seem to provide no training to their staff. The bouncers are violent and threaten guests if they do not obey their orders. Once again, lots of lights, faux-elegant decorations, and aggressive security guards that would fit right in as correctional officers in a New Orleans prison. Some of the female waitresses could care less about service. They spend most of their time on the phone and looking in the bathroom mirrors. The food is below mediocre. You'll find more gourmet food at Sonic or Burger King. Music was ok. I witnessed several black guests being turned away at the window for wearing the same clothes the Latino and White guests were wearing. If you complain to security, they will threaten you with physical intimidation. The owner of this place had his employees working while he was getting tested for Covid-19. I went here with the intentions to celebrate my birthday, despite the poor reviews I was told by many people that Barcode was fun so I just decided to go. Let me start by saying the service is absolute trash. I called twice, the first was to inquire about reservations for Saturday nights and the second call was to confirm. The females I spoke to on the phone are UNKNOWLEDGEABLE as to what the packages/reservation prices are. I was specifically told that I would be able to reserve a "cabana" which only limited me to 6 people & required a minimum of $500 for a Saturday - which is what I agreed to and what I made my reservation for. Upon arrival, staff was rude & gave us a difficult time. We were then walked over to a table with no chairs & was told that this was our reservation, I began to argue with the man who was assisting us because I had balloons, a cake & several people in attendance who did not anticipate to stand or be together on a small table. The man who helped us then proceeded to tell me that all the cabanas were booked and that they were a minimum of $1200, and that on Friday the price was $500 which is NOT what I was told when I specifically asked about SATURDAY RESERVATIONS to the person I called. At that point, we had no choice but to go to the downstairs portion & just get 2 tables with chairs. The only good thing about the night is our server, Luna. But I would never recommend this place to anyone. There is an upstairs and downstairs - upstairs plays mixed music & downstairs plays strictly Latin. If you want to stay upstairs, the place is too packed that you cannot even move or dance without someone touching, pushing or bumping you. With the food, hookah & bottles I ordered, my friends and I paid nearly $700 for 2 garbage tables, an overcrowded packed mess & predominantly Latin music. DO NOT COME HERE. Such a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. You are better off at the Lobby or in the city. read more

First things first SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!! and what's so messed up is that the food is actually good especially the WINGS! Unfortunately the bartender asked if we wanted to keep a tab open or close out of course we said keep it open but she needed a ID and the DEBIT/CREDIT CARD we were charging which made my skin crawl if I'm giving you my card why do I need to give you my license I have no problem with showing you my license but I AM NOT giving it to you. It's funny cause two other people sitting next to us walked in around the same time left their tab open and NO ONE asked them for ID .. Not going to pull the race card cause clearly everyone that worked in there IS a minority but cmon guys you could do better than that ..
