We've arrived at 10pm, stayed later waiting for a party that never happens. There was a big party advertised for last night. Two of our friends arrived at 9:30 and held a table for the rest of us. We arrived at 10, sat at the table, and about an hour later were ask to move because it was reserved. We then went to another table, and after almost an hour we were asked to move again because it was "reserved." We felt very offended and spoke with the manager who said that there was nothing to be done. This was very unprofessional. Reserved spaces should have a sign indicating that. There were NO signs on any table. Unfortunately, this was the first time that there was actually a party atmosphere. We then left and went to the Montclair Rooftop where we had a great time. There were tables reserved, but they were identified as such. The management needs to do better. This treatment of your customers is unacceptable. The flyer advertised for this event had NOTHING about reserved seats. We brought our friends to celebrate a birthday, and this experience was VERY embarrassing. Do better, Ms. Manager!

This is a playground game that children play in my hometown so that is why I got excited about this new place. DJ was playing all that kind of latin music: from salsa to bachata, merengue, dembow and of course regueton! The place wasn't that busy and they have karaoke seven nights at week. Servers were really nice and even though they don't have a big selection of cocktails they do offer many kinds of beers. They don't take debit or credit cars but there is an ATM inside the place. If you are up to dancing this is the right spot to show the world all your moves!! They also have a variety of tequilas... Don't be shy!!! Highly recommended.

Some of the regulars there were pretty chill too. The look of Cupido's inside is really almost like a club with the lighting, a restaurant with the tables but it has a nice bar area. There's a main seating area that seems designated for full service food and drinks. The smaller seating area on the right felt like more of a VIP area. There were no signs, fences or bouncers stopping me from sitting in these places. The unambiguous standing area was quite small. I'm unclear on the ethics of whether it's required to buy drinks considering the delightfully low $10 cover charge. But I did enjoy a Down East cider and more shockingly, a loganberry hard cider from Canisteo, NY's own Cross Creek. Still, the DIY vibe is more refreshing than City Winery charging more than Live Nation to get through the door, tacking on $25 minimums and seating you with strangers. The men's room is currently out of service so I used the modular set-up outside (flush, not porta, but my rating on this sub-section of the trip varies depending on whether the light is working!) On the bright side, there's a great assortment of cover bands and originals on the calendar. I was here for Ashtray Floors, who had a stellar homage to The Replacements. I never thought I'd hear Left Of The Dial live again. And REM tribute band The Ones You Love also rocked the joint. Crossroads deserves credit just for hosting these shows but also for good sound quality whether it was the haunting echoes of the late Bob Stinson or the mandolin in Losin' My Religion. And if I don't see ya, in a long, long while, I'll try to find you, left of the Garwood NJ Transit stop.

Mosh pits and skanking are active when going to punk/ska concerts at this venue.- I would recommend the back or the very front if you don't want to be in mosh pit action. This venue is one of the best and would love to come again for another concert!
