There was some people that set up food in the back but it left a trail of an odor that was not appetizing. Drinks were ok at best but when I asked for a cup with ice it seemed to be an issue. Very off putting. Not quite sure what the issue was.... The bartender brought the manager over and I had to specify I wanted it for my beer. Yes, I'm a weirdo if I don't get a frosted glass, I'll take a cup with ice. The manager proceeds to ask me ; "So you want me to pour the beer into the cup with ice?" UMMM yes I don't mind pouring it my damn self but if it makes you more comfortable, knock yourself out. It truly didn't make a difference to me who poured it, I just wanted some damn ice to cool myself off! I'm not sure what type of sketchy and shady people they deal with but I am not the one. My boyfriend and I run a good tab on drinks, give me what I'm asking for and paying for! Meanwhile, I did not see just about any of the 30-40 people on the dance floor buy a drink. I then saw hookah's on a table and the price list. Unfortunately, they were not providing hookah service that night. So why have them out? Whewwww I love my house music community and love the Lincoln Park festival that is close to the bar but this past Sunday this bar and crowd missed the mark. The only redeeming factor was the DJ. The drinks were average at best but overall food and drinks was priced fairly. $30 hookah, did not last long and did not taste too good. DJ was ok, definitely played good music but oh my goodness the volume and the repetitive bachata was enough to make my ears bleed! We love Latin music, but seriously there is a lot more to Latin music than just bachata. He did play two good salsa songs but other than that the DJ could really afford to FIRST OF ALL lower the music just a tiny bit and expand on the genres - although I understand that crowd loves bachata. We all like club level music but when it's ridiculously too loud - there is such a thing as too much. 18% gratuity automatically added to our first bill with food and drinks. They closed us out as it was the end of brunch but thankfully were able to stay at our table and open a new tab. One minor hiccup, the waitress never came back with change for our second bill. The happy hour specials they promised for the watch party aren't happening, the game they said would be playing isn't playing, and not even a single NBA player in sight (didn't believe this either way). We were so excited to witness the Knicks complete history and instead felt like we were lured into an establishment under false pretenses and essentially setup for a scam. Even after we informed management of the advertisement we were given countless excuses "we don't do happy hour on Saturdays", "oh well that happy hour ended at 7", "we're going to play the game, we're waiting for tables to leave first", and the list goes on. It's unfortunate that the staff working that night had to deal with our disappointment because it's not their fault. Their ownership/management showed no remorse for the mistake on their end and instead of truly trying to make it right, tried to deflect and point the finger at us instead, causing us to have to leave as the game was beginning and find plans elsewhere What's even more interesting is that even after our complaints, the flier remained up for the rest of the night .
