    Carnitas Tacos

I've been to Barcade a couple of times before and had a lot of fun just playing the games but I was starving and ordered food this time and it was actually SO GOOD. I was super surprised! I got an order of the carnitas tacos which came with nachos on the side and I was super impressed with the portion size and quality of everything. It took a while to come out but they were packed so that's understandable. Always love coming here to play games and hang out with friends! Will definitely get more food in the future.

Barcade is the perfect spot for a date night or just chill night. Great location in Midtown, close to plenty of other great restaurants. If you are going to a place like this to eat primarily you might need your head checked lol. If you are going to play some videos games, grab some drinks, watch sports and have a great time, this is the place for you! Lol They had some of my favorite arcade games, MJ Moonwalker, The Simpsons, NBA Jams, just to name a few.

This is a visit to gen x childhood, with one twist, arcade AND full bar. What an amazing idea! We came on Sunday and it was kids day (yes they do this every so often). The menu is different and bang mi is not offered until 5. It was very busy with kids and parents and then things calmed down a bit. (Still a bit overstimulating- tvs, music, arcade games.) and of course I love it. Great beer selection! Avery from Colorado (love white rascal), and dubbel, triple, other beer types of course also. Had the nuggets- yes I am 13 again! However the Nashville hot sauce (on side) is not for that child! Staff super friendly and nice! Attentive - must Galaga, joust, tron, missile command, asteroids.

Sunday afternoon munchies led me to Barcade from a search on the Inkind app. Parking is right out front and was available because it was Sunday morning. Can't speak for weekends. I was greeted right when I came through the door and asked for my identification. Please make sure you have your physical drivers license, identification and not a copy. They view it and scan it. They have a detailed sign at the door which is helpful to understand what is acceptable. Doesn't matter if you look underage or not they carded everyone coming in the door. Seems a bit much if you look over 40, but I get they are right in the midst of WSU. Bartender was very pleasant. I ordered Philly cheesesteak egg rolls to go. The order process was easy at the bar. The food took a little time to come out. I was told they were rolled fresh. They were worth the wait. The crunch was heard as soon as I bit it. The sauce was flavorful. At $14, I'm glad they were cooked really well. I don't know how you would enter in a wheelchair. I had to step up in order to enter and there was not a handrail if you need assistance walking stairs. There is a wall near the stairs that could be used as a supportive brace. A railing would be a suggestion even for that one steep step. The target audience seems to be a younger crowd. They have a happy hour during the week noted on the sign outside the door. There is a cute area outside of Barcade and building next door that is a neat place to sit.

Some uncommon games that I barely remember. Cool!

My primary criteria for a good arcade is that the machines are in working order... At Barcade, in Midtown Detroit, the pinball tables are in fantastic condition, and, most of the video games are also in very good shape, too. The video games are, almost entirely, 25 cents per play. The pinball machines are either 75 cents per play, OR LESS. This is a bargain! I will say that if you MUST have the latest, greatest, BLEEDING EDGE selection of pinball tables, you won't find it here, at least not yet. 5 stars so far... As the astute among us can infer, this place is an also a bar. As such, the beer selection is excellent. Additionally, mixed drinks, including some fun, themed, craft cocktails, are available. I will say, that the beer was a little on the pricey side. But you know what? When you have a decent buzz, you don't seem to care though so much. Atmosphere: Cool and industrial. Clean, including the bathroom. Staff: Once again, cool (and friendly). Although this place doesn't have the same character of the old "Pop + Offworld," it's still pretty cool. There are worse ways to spend a couple hours here in The D!

I'm officially a fan of all Barcade establishments. I've been to the one in Philly, but the Detroit location was a little more intimate. The outdoor space was really nice, and the location allowed children in the early hours, which is a brilliant idea. I don't live in Detroit, so the bar staff was nice enough to give me recommendations for food in the area, even though they themselves serve light snacks. The prices are great, they have all the nostalgic arcade games from my childhood, and the drinks are STIFF. Next time I'm in Detroit, which is soon, I'll likely drop in again.

Stopped in before a Red Wings game. Plenty of street parking out front, I guess unless they were REALLY busy. A really cool place. I feel like we kind of missed out on the full experience as we didn't place any of the arcade games.

Had to check this place out for the arcade! The cocktail menu was absolutely on point with fun names to go along with the arcade name/vibe. I ordered the Butterfly McQueen and really loved how light it was with the perfect amount of lavender. The bar was cool and had a great amount of arcade games. Great place to get a good drink and play some games.

Such a fun spot! It was very affordable to get tokens to play and there were so many fun choices to pick from. We're just visiting Detroit so we needed something to do, and this was a great pick!

Super fun place! 21+ only, which is great! Food and drinks were FANTASTIC!! Only issue (which is not an issue for their business) is that it was so busy that we were standing around at times, which felt kinda awkward.

Nate and I stopped in on our most recent visit to Detroit and had a lovely experience. The space is tucked away but had a surprising amount of outdoor space--we were there in January but I'd love to come back in the summer. We were greeted right away and given a spot near the bar. The menu includes cocktails, lots of wine, and several tasty food options. It was quite busy inside, so it took a bit of time for our server to come over to us, but we weren't in a rush. They had ten cocktails on their list and I tried the bullet proof soul and Nate got the negroni alla perra. The ingredients list for some of the cocktails include things I've never heard of, but at a place like this, I just know it's going to be good. Our drinks were perfectly balanced and very tasty. We also ordered the mortadella sandwich to split--this was delicious. It was pretty messy, but worth it. It was perfectly toasted and full of mortadella. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I would love to try more of the food options. Can't wait to visit again!

There were friendly patrons all around and we chatted with other bar admirers. We checked out the coffee shop, Warda, but didn't purchase anything then, but have had several of their desserts since then and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is wonderful, indoor/outdoor bar, great outside seating - not sure how this will work in the winter? They also have very pretty stone paths with multicolor stones mixed in for a very peaceful beautiful look. It inspired me to add some multicolored stones to my garden! I can't wait to return.

I was very pleasantly surprised! The space is beautiful, classy, and airy. We sat at the bar and had a nice chat -- the music was at a good volume. I only ordered wine -- their wine list is alright. Not bad for a bar that's clearly not wine-focused. My wife and a friend had cocktails and they both were good, particularly their espresso martini. For food, we shared patatas bravas, tortilla española, and croquetas de jamon, and they were all delicious. I'd legit come back for a full dinner. My only reason to not give this 5 stars is the drink service was very slow, even though the place wasn't busy. They could have been upfront about this, but our waiter didn't tell us until after bringing us drinks, letting us see the menus, and after he started to take our orders. We essentially had to ask---what *do* you have? One pet peeve of mine is that they give everyone low ball glasses for water with no ice and a single, narrow carafe of water for the entire table. We had to continuously ask for more water. I tried the espresso no-tini ($11), a mocktail. It was good, but came in cordial glass and was essentially just a shot of chilled espresso. The setas ($14) were listed as a local wild mushroom blend with garlic and lemon. It was probably about a half cup of mushrooms, grilled, and served in a saucer. Finally, the charcuterie y queso ($21) was meat, cheese, sourdough, mustard, pickles, and honey. Everything was very salty and with no variation. It needed balance with a soft cheese, spice, or more sweetness. My charcuterie plate didn't come out until about an hour plus after we ordered, after multiple asks. It's hard to justify the delay when it's just hard cheese and meat, they didn't have to cook, and there were few other customers. (Essentially, we forgot). I still had a wonderful time with my friends in a beautiful space, but I wouldn't come here to eat again.
