If you're craving a burrito it's worth jumping on a train to go get one here in Leeds. Good flavor good sauce I'll be back again.

Starts with Nachos- chilli beef & chorizo on one portion and some kind of squash stew on the other. Both very tasty toppings and a very satisfying portion Followed by Tacos- chicken tinga, and again the squash stew. Lovely soft tacos with just the right topping balance and very tasty! Followed by Enchilada-chilli beef & chorizo- could this get anymore flavoursome Topped off with Fajita of North yorks belly pork with cumin seed crackling. OMG- it was a taste sensation, a party in my mouth and every other exclamation you can come out with while swooning over the deliciousness presented at Neon cactus. For the £10.95 a head I defy you to find tastier food on Call Lane! The setting is more suited to a bar hence I haven't given 5 stars- its a bit dark with candle-light being the predominant lighting, the service is a bit staggered with the bar being dealt with also but all in all we were happy with the food and the service was quite attentive enough for us. 2 beers and 2 soft drinks brought the bill to £25-ish and we didn't hesitate to leave the remainder of the £30 for a tip. Give it a try- your taste buds will thank you for it!!

I can't speak for what it's like late on a weekend night, being as I tend to avoid the copious crowds in favour of a quieter spot generally, but early on a Friday night the place was already buzzing. Not too busy that you couldn't get to the bar, but not so quiet you felt wrong for drinking and having a bit of a party. I love the stylings, with the curiosities and wooden back bar shelves, and any bar that devotes itself to tequila is a happy place for me. This wouldn't have been the case previously, but I've something of a new affection for margaritas and shots of tequila with the green stuff to chase. (I still can't remember what it's called, but it's lime-y, chilli and delicious.) The array of cocktails available for the special cocktail week were all great, all tequila based, and all very tempting. Being early I requested a longer drink, and that was what I was given - a Pineapple something (forgive the memory loss) and it was really tasty. Very tequila-y still, but a good balance of pineapple, little pepper (?) flakes, and tequila. I must say, I'm a fan. And I'm still fondly looking forward to coming back for some more Mexican delights, as the food here is marvellous. It ticks all the boxes: good bar staff, good drinks, good food, good décor. Get down for good times!

Even though it is a "chain", I like Mexican food and the person who is behind it won Masterchef years ago and there most be a reason why she has several branches of Wahaca around the country (I think about 27) and they have been around for more than 10 years. We decided to order a few things each and basically share. The friendly, helpful waitress, suggested how many of the different types of items to get per person. We got mostly tacos and was suggested to get either 2 each (plus a side) or 3 each. We had: Chargrilled steak taco Battered cod taco Carnitas taco (which was one of the specials) Plantain taco Buttermilk chicken taco Black bean & three cheese quesadillas Overall they all tasted good. I am not that big a fan of plantain so it just tasted OK. Also, I thought I didn't like black beans (I like the ones you have in Chinese dishes - the fermented dried ones) but I really liked the quesadillas. Maybe it was the combination with the cheese. The tacos were good - my favourite was the buttermilk chicken ones. (I didn't specifically say anything about coriander so luckily it was just mostly on the top of the tacos - and not too much. Phew!).

Situated in the upcoming revamped Corn Exchange building, you have a decent amount of seating in and outdoors (well a lot in the fake outdoors in the internal courtyard...) and it's bright, airy and generally doesn't feel too chainy. The food we had was all great - tasty crab and avocado tostadas, chicken tinga taco's and a really nice guac with nacho's. Having cooked a number of recipes (and the Tinga being a regular go-to meal) from Thomasina's cookery books, I still have to say mine taste better though ;-P Prices were fairly decent but the beer selection needs improving a lot. They just sell Mexican lager which isn't too shocking I can imagine but there's no other options in terms of beers and even Las Iguanas now sells Mexican IPA, Wheat Beers etc. Put it this way - I was wanting a beer but just decided to keep my money in my pocket and drink water. I'm sure I'll be back again regularly as it's the best restaurant Mexican in town (Pancho's will always be getting my casual burrito money though) - a welcome addition to the foodie scene.

I'd seen some terrible reviews of La Casita online but if being a person who writes online…read morerestaurant reviews teaches you anything, it's when other ones are not totally legit. So I ignored them and went anyway and I'm glad I did because it was a really delicious, good value meal with great friendly service. Rich and I shared the choriqueso and the guacamole bowl to start. The choriqueso as you may be able to guess is a ton of chorizo with a ton of melted cheese. Of course this was bloody delicious. The guacamole was good too, I'm not sure what was achieved by it being in a tortilla bowl but it definite didn't detract from anything. For mains I had tacos el pastor and Rich had fajitas with chicken and chorizo. The tacos were great - no weird hard shells here - and the filling very tasty. If I had any complaints here it would be that the meat had a slightly 'chalky' aftertaste, so possibly I'd try another taco filling on another visit. The hot sauce that comes with the tacos is pretty bloody hot, believe them when they say that. Rich's only complaint was that the fajitas came with a large amount of filling and only two small tortillas. To drink I had a bottle of Sol and a very good, very strong margarita. Rich had a pint of lager and a rum and coke. For two starters, two mains and four drinks we paid around £50 which I thought was pretty good. I'll definitely be back! I just hope it sticks around as businesses seem to come and go in this location (so go support them!).

A layer of lettuce sat on top with cream served with pico de gallo (Fresh Mexican salsa), and a spicy dipping sauce. The pulled pork was juicy and full of flavour, the outside was nice and crispy, and the spicy sauce was the perfect addition. I made a major foodie error, and ordered the Cochinita Pibil burrito for my main, which is basically an upsacle non-fried version of the Chimichangas - in my defence: PULLED PORK! The Cochinita Pibil was slow cooked pulled-pork marinated in oranges, lime and traditional Mayan flavouring, and was spot on! I HAVE NO REGRETS The restaurant is a quaint little place at the Chorlton end of Barlow Moor Road, with a large open window and terrace, which is great on a warm Summers' night like on the night I visited. The inside is filled with Mexican style décor, like an awesome painting depicted Cinco de Mayo celebrations. The price was very reasonable and service was great, friendly and attentive, and I will definitely return to sample the guacamole, and bigger variety of their dishes.

We weren't offered a second round of drinks until after we'd finished our food, and only got water with the bill. Weirdly at this point the server became super friendly - maybe she'd received some good news halfway through our meal, or was happy we were the last customers! Food-wise the cheese fondue and nachos with everything selection I don't think wowed anyone but were nice enough. My tacos were all fine although completely disintegrated once I added sauces. The carne asada was definitely more like braised meat than steak, but still tasted fine. The shrimp was again fine but unremarkable. Overall the taste couldn't compare to the fish tacos over at Fusion Lab. My taco dorado had the nicest filling (guacamole, chorizo) but it wasn't the best deep-fried taste - not sure whether that's just my preference or something about the oil but would give them the benefit of the doubt. The huitaloche enchilada wasn't that exciting in the end - basically a sort of mushroom flavour, I wouldn't go for it unless you lurve mushrooms. I think Yayo is right this would be good as a late night place for some snacks after drinking, however it seems to close by 11 even on Saturday so they might be missing a trick there. Overall I wouldn't say no to going back but nor would I suggest it.

I love a sour cocktail, and had a paloma, they were tasty, but there was definitely more ice than liquid! The menu was explained to us (it's a pretty clear menu, and I have, you know, eaten outside my own house before) We were sat on a smaller than average table, which I didn't think was a problem until I saw how the dishes were served for three out of four of us. We'd ordered the xinxim, gorgeous combo of chicken and crayfish in a mild, creamy, coconutty sauce with rice and green beans. And man, do I feel sorry for the poor sod washing up! It was pretty, but not practical, especially when they didn't remove the dishes from our starters straight away! Tasty, but I felt like I would smash a pot with clumsy elbows! I'd go again, but not out of happy hour! And special requests can be awkward, but if they aren't going to be followed through with, I'd really rather they would just say!
