Vamos Por Tacos - Tandoori Chicken Taco at Vamos Por Tacos

The first time I went to this place, a good friend took me to a Yelp event here. The tacos were so…read moreamazing we had decided to come back here for lunch during a work day, where I got to try their Birria Quesadilla. I've tried tacos from other places and I can still say this is the best tacos I've had in Mississauga. Now I come here frequently with my boyfriend whenever we feel like having tacos. We usually get five tacos each whenever we come. Last week, we came to get our usual. I got a Bang bang shrimp, pescado, the chicken pastor, the birria, and the Thai sweet chili cauliflower. He got two chicken pastors, a Bang bang shrimp, a Carne asada, and a pescado. I tried to order an elote but it seems they were out. I've already tried it before and just wanted to relive the goodness, so it was no big deal. It was quite busy that Sunday afternoon (we usually go on Thursday afternoons which is far less busy) but we were able to grab a table. The tacos were amazing as usual. I like how they use different tortillas for each tacos which complement each the protein inside the taco. For example, they double wrap the chicken pastor, and the birria tacos use a tortilla that can handle the dip. I also love their choice of toppings. I think the hickory sticks with the Carne asada work so well together, and the chicken pastor with the pineapples are so delicious. When we got the chicken pastors that Saturday, they didn't put pineapples on ours, but I assume they ran out. I've actually tried all of their tacos, and my favourites are definitely the Bang bang shrimp and the Pescado. The flavours just hit! I was pleasantly surprised by the Thai sweet chili cauliflower one. My boyfriend was telling me deep fried cauliflower tastes way better than normal cauliflower, and this taco delivered. The Thai sweet chili flavour really works. If you are planning to order 4+ tacos at a time, note that they deliver the tacos generally at the same time. I would resist the urge to wait until all tacos are on your table before eating as the tacos will cool down. Some tacos can handle the wait (like the birria) while other tacos are best enjoyed right away (like the shrimp and pescado). Overall, an amazing place to get tacos. Make sure you also try their other dishes, as well as their drinks, as they are quite unique and delicious too!

Was introduced to this place by a Yelp Elite Event and enjoyed the tacos so much I came back…read more I got some of the bang bang shrimp tacos and the tacos themselves were fantastic. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and the sauce goes so well with the shrimp. I unfortunately underestimated the wait time for this place. I ordered via UberEats on a weekday evening, after finishing work in the area and was floored by the 40min estimated wait time, for 2 whole tacos. I really should have cut my losses and cancelled my order I was only about 10 minutes away but very far from home so I went ahead to double check if the wait time was accurate. They did take the full 40 mins. There were 2 staff on site, but only one person that seemed to do the cooking. Great tacos, but 40 mins is crazy. It's pretty pricey (like restaurant pricing equivalent) so combined with the long wait and slightly out of the way location, Im not exactly dying to come back. If you do decide to go, definitely order in advance. There's lots of parking there and lots of seating. What's odd is when I went, there were only 3-4 tables out of 10+ in use and it wasn't that busy inside the store, so who knows if it's a one off thing or they are always understaffed?

Like their website says: real, authentic Mexican food…read more Two of us popped in on Friday night, and grabbed 6 tacos and drinks to go. The outside is nothing to rave about, and who cares, when the food is this good? Take a seat at an umbrella picnic table in the basic parking lot, or dine inside where the space is quaint, small and didn't seem to be air conditioned. Staff are pleasant and quick, and accommodated our request for no cilantro or raw onion. I know... some people love both! 2 beverages: Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus) Agua de Horchata (rice milk and cinnamon). These were just okay, but served in decent 12oz size cup. Tacos were all great - even though removing onion and cilantro left just meaty filling. Next time, we'll ask if a substitute green is available, and opt for the versions that come with refried beans. Vegan Pastor (marinated cauliflower with a gorgeous pineapple slice) Vegan Papas con Chorizo (tofu, salsa, potato) Vegan Hongos (mushroom and garlic) Pollo con Mole (shredded chicken with spicy mole sauce) Carnitas (shedded pork) Great size portions! 3 tacos were very filling. Our favourite: the vegan Pastor. We'll be back SOON and probably take it to go again. TIP: It's a 5 minute walk to the lake, where you can picnic with a view!

Authentic, but sorta on the pricier side...but what isn't these days?…read more Menu is pretty standard and there seemed to be a lot of veg options. The interior is small, exterior patio is quite large and somewhat shielded from the parking lot. Tita's is located in a small, strip plaza and it isn't the newest or fanciest spot. I ordered the Birria tacos that came with the consumé and it was ~$21/22 for 3 tacos. YES, they were pretty packed with beef and tasted a lot fresher than a spot that I stopped at in Roncesvalles, but Tita's was pricier in comparison for less tacos. The 3 tacos was a 1 portion serving. No doubt, it's an authentic, no frills spot, but don't expect to pay the same no frills price tag.
