Because we are both disabled and could not arrange assistance, we returned to the store and paid $79 plus tax for delivery. Before scheduling, I specifically asked about the steps leading into our ground-level apartment and was told they "should be no problem." When the refrigerator was delivered, the driver left it secured to a pallet outside our property, obstructing an ADA-accessible walkway and our property manager's gate. I was then told the driver could not enter the property without another employee present. This restriction had not been communicated to us when the delivery was arranged. We had to urgently find friends/family to help move the refrigerator ourselves, creating unnecessary stress and an access concern for our apartment community. I contacted Home Depot to request a refund of the delivery charge. Unfortunately, my request was denied, and I was informed that Home Depot considered its handling of the delivery to have been appropriate. From my perspective, however, the service was not provided as it had been explained to us when we paid for it. This was especially frustrating given that we specifically asked about accessibility and relied on the information provided by the store. I hope Home Depot will reconsider how delivery limitations are communicated to customers, particularly when accessibility concerns are involved.

A friend recommended Patton's Steel in Irwindale. I inquired via email, and a person named Cody Robinson got right back to me the next day. He gave me a quote for a steel 12-ft piece of 11-gauge square tubing 1.5 in x 1.5 in x12 ft. I had looked at other places, but the prices were crazy, and to have it delivered was, in some cases hundreds, of dollars. I had a few more questions, and Cody answered them promptly. He made me feel very comfortable working with their company. He stated that the product would be on will call for me at the Ontario location which was great because it was on my way home from Fontana. I let him know that I had Thursday off so I would pick it up then, and he said no problem just go to the front desk. I did just that and within about 10 minutes I had a 12-ft square tubing made of steel at my disposal. I really didn't need 12 ft, so I asked them if they could cut it to 10 and I didn't need the scrap. The person with whom I delt, said that was not a problem he took it and cut it to a 10 ft length--perfect. The staff knew their product well and it was very nice to deal with people that knew exactly where product is and how to get it to the customers in a timely manner. Now the Ontario location is a retail location, so I thought it might be more expensive, but I was wrong. Out the door the price was $54.38. I brought $54.40 thinking they wouldn't have pennies, but much to my surprise they did have change and I got two pennies back, I guess two cents for my thoughts hahaha.. This location, has all kinds of tubing, posts, solid and hollow, whether they be square cornered, round, long or short. I was amazed at the selection that they had. If you have need to make a brace for a tree or need to make a cage or tubing for some reason, this is the place to go.

10+ Years of Loyalty Dismissed Over Poor Customer Service and Lack of Integrity…read more I've been a consistent customer of Resource Building Materials for over 10 years, frequently purchasing materials for both residential and commercial projects. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and has made me reconsider ever doing business with them again. On June 4, 2025, I purchased epoxy/resin products totaling $1,821.00 for a paver protection project at my home. These products turned out to be incorrect for the job, a mistake made by the contractor I hired. Wanting to resolve the issue properly, I attempted to return the unused and sealed materials on July 1, 2025--only 27 days after purchase, well within a commonly accepted 30-day return window. I spoke with Alexis, and later her manager Diego, who both demonstrated a stunning lack of professionalism. Initially, I was told flat-out that no refunds are allowed, which was surprising considering my long-standing relationship with the company. I calmly asked them to review the disclosures printed on the bottom of the receipt, which clearly state that returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee--not a total denial of return. Once I presented the facts, they pivoted and claimed the return was being denied because the purchase was made "over 30 days ago"--again, not true. I challenged them using the original purchase date and receipt, proving that only 27 days had passed. At that point, their excuse changed again: Diego questioned how they could know if the product hadn't been left outside in the sun. I found this completely unacceptable and insulting. For the record, the product has been sitting untouched in my garage, easily visible, stacked in sealed 5-gallon aluminum buckets. I immediately recognized them as unused materials and attempted to return them before any legitimate window would expire. This felt like an intentional effort to avoid issuing a refund or store credit--completely dismissing my long history of business with them. Rather than owning up to a poorly handled situation, they chose to pass blame, make false assumptions, and contradict their own return policy. There was no accountability, no willingness to resolve the issue fairly, and no appreciation for a customer who's spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years. And for the record, I do not like to leave bad reviews whatsoever. In fact, you can check my Yelp account--I don't leave bad reviews at all. It takes a lot to push me to this point, and for me to take the time to write this, you have to piss me off at least 10 times more than normal. That's how bad it was dealing with Diego and Alexis at Resource Building Materials. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. This is not how you treat a loyal client. If this is the new standard of customer service at Resource Building Materials, I can no longer recommend them--and will be taking my business elsewhere moving forward.
