Spacious and built with a second floor to handle corporate events and a backroom with a couple of archery courses, Valhalla Indoor Axe Throwing is more than just an axe throwing venue - it was also decorated for the Halloween season and had a giant Viking chair and giant semi-animatronic dog for a photo op! It goes without saying my enthusiasm for this place means if you want to learn and do axe throwing I definitely think this is the place you should go to. Chris, the owner was incredibly nice and easy to talk to and showed us the basics of axe throwing posture, safety, and etiquette, as well as what the different size axes, ninja stars, and shovels (yes you read that right) could do. Since it was my birthday, he also gifted us an additional half hour, which I really needed as I quickly found out I was pretty terrible at axe throwing. My wife, however, bested me in 9 games (probably more) as we axed our way out of some zombie themed levels. She had some really clean axe throws at those zombie heads - I now know when the zombie apocalypse comes, I married the right person.

We arrived a bit before 4 PM and found the doors closed, but we patiently waited in the parking lot. Soon, a friendly gentleman arrived and got everything set up, and we were welcomed inside. Initially, it was a little warm since they had just opened, but after about an hour, the temperature became comfortable. The atmosphere was lively and inviting--a perfect place to hang out with friends or for a fun date night! Since it was our first experience with ax throwing, we were pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was! The cost was $30 per person, which felt like a great value for the experience. Just a heads up: there are about 6-7 throwing lanes, so if you plan to visit on a date night, you might encounter a wait. I recommend going during the week or at off-peak hours to avoid any delays.

Unfortunately for us, another party was waiting on an earlier reservation to use the rage room, so we had to go home. I understand that emergencies happen. HOWEVER, we know that the owner was contacted by at least an hour before we showed up for our reservation. That was ample time to call or email us to let us know that we should reschedule. You knew no one was there to run the business. You knew that people with reservations would be showing up. You did nothing to try to mitigate the problem. We had to find childcare. We had to go to the store and spend extra money to buy items to smash. You could have saved us a lot of trouble with a phone call. The irony is that after this experience, I really needed to smash something to get my frustration out.

They had just let the prior group start 8 minutes ago from when we arrived and they did not initially apologize or try in any way to make it up to us. They mentioned that they sold some breakable items for $3-$4 each but that we should spend the 20 minutes we needed to wait to go and purchase some breakable items from around the area while we waited. We asked if we could receive a discount for the rage room or if we could receive any of the $3/$4 breakable items for free, but they stated that the best they could do was to give a discount on the breakable items. We paid around $150 total for 5 of us so to only be offered a discount on items that are already only $3/$4 was laughable. They said they could not discount or refund a portion of the rage room cost at all, so there was no acceptable attempt made to make the situation right for us. As we dressed in protective gear for the rage room, we found that at least half of the protective gear we tried (helmets, gloves, jumpsuits) was defective, had holes in them, and wouldn't have been safe to wear. They also did not have enough protective gear for all five members of our group. When we asked for more protective gear, they stated they only had enough to supply 2-3 people at most with full protective gear and we were NOT notified of this after booking the rage room online. We will not be returning to this location due to the mistake they made with no reasonable attempt to make this right with us, the negligent and defective protective gear, and the lack of sufficient protective gear for our group.

This is a nice place for either a rage room or an escape room…read more A few weeks ago, I did a rage room experience here, which was my first time doing a rage room. Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. I should check out their escape rooms some time soon.

Overall a positive experience with a couple of cons:…read more - When we arrived, there wasn't any clear instructions of where/what we should do as there is no front desk. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.
