We had such a great time at Yosemite Axe Throwing! From start to finish, the experience was awesome. Our host, Mark, was absolutely fabulous--friendly, engaging, and made the whole thing even more fun. The wait time was minimal, and once we were set up and went through the safety course, it was game on. The place serves great beer and wine, which was a nice bonus. Food options are limited to chips and jerky, but honestly, they hit the spot. One of the coolest extras is that they have TouchTunes, so you can control the jukebox right from your phone and set the vibe while throwing axes. Overall, such a fun experience--we'll definitely be back for more fun soon! read more

Set a 'date night' for us to come here for an hour tonight and we had so much fun. Mark was great and we had a blast trying to beat each other's score and try to get the higher bullseye spots on the target. Mark helped us throughout and was available for any questions. This was only our 1st time in an axe throwing location - we did it once at a Huntington Beach festival. I wish there were a few more axes to throw- each lane had two. And my ma went to pull one off the board and it came apart - but now I understand that's usual. He probably wished there was a bar - but after seeing how fast the time flew - buying one drink each was perfect. So - definitely worth it- an hour of fun, nice people and great experience. Had an amazing time!!! We were driving back from the snow and decided to go in here. The best decision ever! It had great vibes and atmosphere. The guy that showed us our spot and the rules also showed my 11 year old how to throw an axe. I was not expecting my son would be much good at it. Turn out after he saw how it was done he became a natural. So for any newbies out there don't worry it can be done. It's a big space are! They do sell alcohol, not sure how you will throw after but hey they have it. This place is more fun than being out in the cold! Can't wait to come back to it! read more

First timers and it was such a fun experience. I can not remember our instructors name but he was so awesome. He was super patient and just great vibes! Our 8 year old loved it and we will definitely be doing this activity again! Space is spacious, doesn't feel crowded. They have drinks available and some food. We had some beers and played a few rounds. Would definitely recommend for a fun night out! read more

Came in to do a little axe throwing on a whim. Best decision we got a beautiful lemonade, seltzer, and a cherry sour. Got my dairy air handed to me from my beautiful wife. This place is amazing! Good tunes, great service from Mark #29 in the world and they had a nice military discount. I've been to a few axe throwing spots and the axes used here were sharp and sturdy, barely any missed shots. Great spot to visit if you're in Big Bear. read more

For several years we've enjoyed taking our grandkids to Yosemite Axe Throwing. Our experience began in Mammoth when we they experienced so much snow we couldn't ski, so we found this to keep them occupied. This year was similar at Big Bear. The February snow was horribly wet and we didn't want to ski. So, we went bowling and axe throwing. Mark was very welcoming and gave the kids a refresher on the safety rules. He makes sure that everyone has fun and is safe. Please try this when you're in Big Bear, its a blast! read more

Tonight was a great experience with Yosemite Ax Throwing. Emily was great, friendly, and knowledgeable. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and there were open lanes so she started us early. Emily explained the rules and scoring and we went to work throwing axes and chopping wood. It was three out of the four of our groups first time. Emily was great with our two kids and helped them get their throw down when they were struggling. They serve beer also!! All in all a great time and great experience. One of the best axe throwing venues I've been to! When it isn't busy, you and a partner get your own lane. The targets are nicely soaked tree trunks (instead of plywood at other places). We also had 3 different axes we could try. Plenty of parking in their lot on a Saturday 3p. I had so much fun, highly recommend if you're looking for an warm indoor Big Bear activity! read more

For my first time axe throwing I was so excited to try out Yosemite Axe inside Big Bear! To keep yourself warm and out of the cold, enjoy a full hour ($30) of throwing and shoulder toning If you're a first timer like me, ask for some tips and tricks from staff. I found it easiest to really follow through on your throw and not let go too late. For 2 on a Saturday evening (4pm) there was almost a full house! If you have a bigger group (6+) playing, there's a $5 discount--$25 per person. The service here is amazing and faculty is really nice! The phone number listed on their website is reliable and their website is easy to navigate to book a reservation. It is recommended to book online to reserve your hour. Every time my group of friends and I stop in from out of town, we always have a good time here. I've gone here with as many as 11 other people (with 3 private lanes) to just five people at opening. The nice thing about going when the place first opens up is the fact that it's never too busy and sometimes you're the only customers there. It can make you feel like you have the whole place to yourself lol. The instructors are very helpful for those who need assistance and they never make you feel dumb for asking questions. Also filling out the liability and safety waiver is also a breeze. This is a must do activity for anyone looking to try something different around town while working up a little sweat in a non traditional way. No matter what age you, what experience you have or what skill level you are, anyone can learn to throw axes and have fun here. read more

Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. The new covered area is now home to 4 permanent pickleball courts which makes for an amazing space for youth who may not have their own nets yet and for anyone to come play in the shade. Yucaipa Pickleball Club reserves these courts for club play through the city. Club hours are generally in the mornings and the 4th Saturday of the month. He had an absolute blast. * Water Access: Water entry is located right at the far end by the large gazebo. * Safe & Mindful: Even with paddleboarders going in and out of the water near the entry point, everyone was very careful and mindful of the young kids nearby, which gave great peace of mind. Parking Strategy & Warning * Parking can be tricky! The main parking lot is quite small with a tight single-lane, one-way setup. If you drive in hoping for a spot, you risk getting stuck in a bottleneck behind people idling and waiting. * Best Approach: We chose to park a bit further away and walk over, which saved us a huge headache. Highly recommend walking in if the main lot looks busy! Overall: A fantastic, scenic park with great water access and a wonderful family environment. We'll definitely be back (with our shade tent next time)!

WHAT A HOOT! One might enter into this adventure with a preconceived notion that this will be an easy target, yet it is not. My bestie and me took a swing at this adventure and are delighted we did. Dalton was our instructor/coach and provided a quiver full of points. With much dedication both of us were able to hit the large target! Not necessarily on point to where we'd aimed but hit it nonetheless. If you find yourself enjoying Big Bear and all its glory- this experience is highly recommended. Price point was on target. We had an amazing time at Yosemite Axe Throwing! The staff was super friendly, patient, and made learning to throw so much fun. Riley promptly helped us sign waivers and was clearly immensely knowledgeable about escape rooms. Before Riley explained anything, she took the time to ask us our names. She memorized them all and asked about our day! As a group of six vocal, excited, and sometimes overwhelmingly energetic teenagers, Riley handled us so kindly. She laughed with us and professionally explained everything thoroughly. We had so much fun with her and couldn't have asked for a better person to handle our silliness. The escape room itself was fun. It was not too scary, but we enjoyed being mildly creeped out at times. The puzzles were not very difficult. Not to brag, but we did escape with 28 minutes left and Riley said we were above average. Overall, I would recommend this escape room to families or friend groups who are looking for a fun time. Allegedly, there is going to be a scarier escape room coming soon at Mountain Room Escapes. (I'm not super big into scary things, in fact, I kinda get terrified of scary things but my friends like being scared I guess. And I like my friends, so here we are) My friends and I would absolutely love to come back to enjoy another amazing time.
