I hate to rate a mom and pop place with friendly struggling staff this badly, but I have to :( I went with friends for Christmas because it was a scenic drive and they were open. It was literally $91 plus tip for ice cold baked beans, dry cold canned corn, a salad bar with a tiny bowl of just shredded lettuce (like for tacos), dry stove top, a condiment cup of Cranberry, a deviled egg, a store bought room temp roll, and a sickly sweet brown sugar covered, pineapple slice from a can ham steak (like you buy at the store for breakfast), and a small piece of room temp pie. The waitress was nice, but flustered, forgetful, busy, and didn't refill drinks without being asked then she forgot a few times. I felt bad for her so tipped better than we all normally would have for that food or service. I won't be going back ever. read more

We stopped here after a stay at the triple R campground. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly. It doesn't look Like much from the outside, but there is plenty of seating. I wasn't wowed by anything, but I wasn't expecting to be. I got a single blueberry pancake for $4.95 and they serve you real maple syrup so much better than other places that give you the cheap stuff. If you are hungry and aren't looking for anything fancy, just normal diner food, stop by and give it a try. read more

I was driving by and surprised that it was open for in person dining. The staff was friendly and the place was clean which is really important to me The food was served quickly and cooked to order. I ordered a bacon cheddar burger and it was cooked to perfection. The roll was soft which I like. French fries were cut and cooked fresh. I had chocolate pie for dessert but forgot to take the picture LOL. It was the perfect ending to the meal. I will definitely stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

Not sure if we went on an off day. Service was VERY slow. There were three of us, and two tables when we walked in and a gentleman at the bar. We ordered and it was almost an hour before getting out breakfast. Food was ok, nothing great, nothing horrible. It was almost two hours from getting there, to getting food to paying. We weren't in a hurry, so that was our plus. read more

This used to be a favorite breakfast spot for years, but this past Sunday, we waited for our meal while the owner/waitress chatted w/ her friends at the table behind us, the chef rang his bell several times, she chatted on. Our eggs were served cold, I couldn't cut my biscuit with the knife, my husband's pancake was so cold, butter wouldn't spread. She offered to reheat the pancake but nothing else. There were only 6 customers at 3 tables but the owner's friends and her phone seemed to be the only things that got her attention, we got up twice to walk to the counter and ask for a coffee refill, got it once. read more

Passing thru the area for the first time, I was looking for a local, independently owned diner-type restaurant for breakfast. I wanted to support a small business during COVID-19 & this seemed like a good choice. I did not check Yelp reviews prior to stopping. 50 lashes with a wet noodle for me. The decor is in need of a major overhaul. A thorough house cleaning is long overdue & should have been done during the pandemic shut-down. Our server was friendly, the food good, & the prices reasonable. But I apply the "broken windows" theory of neighborhood decay to restaurants. In other words, if ownership/management doesn't care about what the customer can see, how much do they care about what the customer can't see? Current times will demonstrate economic Darwinism - businesses which were marginal to begin with won't survive. This place should be on the endangered list & for good reason. read more

We stopped by seeing the sign was under new management. The waitress was friendly and pleasant. The food arrived hot, but took a long time, considering that the restaurant wasn't busy. The food was nothing special, eggs were runny, the toast wasn't toasted. And the food tasted like a teenager cooked it. They need a cook who knows how to prepare food read more

I've grown up going to this restaurant so it's really heart breaking to me that it's gone so downhill. The owner pretty much does everything in there instead of having a staff like they used to. The food I remember being good, nothing special, but great classic breakfast foods. I went there more recently and my cousin couldn't even finish his food it was so gross. The impression I got looking from the outside was that this was your average, diner-type establishment. The outside looked clean, there was decent parking, and the entrance was nice. The inside was a different story. There was a nice sized dining area to the left of the doorway that was dark. There two tables (one for four, one for about eight) to the left of the entrance, in the main room with the bar. Then there were three tables for four in a cramped section to the right, next to (or maybe behind) a buffet that wasn't in use. We squeezed into that corner and an older gentleman appeared with menus. My mother ordered sweetened tea but was given unsweetened. I got Pepsi. There was a dirty small silver bowl in the center of our table besides the greasy box holding the Sweet & Low. I have no idea what the bowl was for. We both ordered burger baskets - I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Burger and my mother ordered the Fried Mushroom & Swiss. The cook must have misheard because he brought out a regular Mushroom & Swiss, but she was fine with that....until she realized the mushrooms were cold, like they were pulled out of a container in the refrigerator and just slapped on the burger until semi-melted cheese. My burger itself was fine - cooked well, bacon stripes, shredded cheddar. The buns weren't really toasted. It was like they were left out near the grill to warm but they were soft and dry. A little butter and toasting them would have helped. The fries were sub-par. They looked like fresh-cut fries but they were overcooked and in some cases burnt. After we were finished eating with most of our basket untouched, the man who took our orders came over and asked, sounding rather annoyed, what was wrong with the fries. My mother and I were both full and just didn't feel like eating anymore, so I told him there was nothing wrong. I'd mentioned the cold mushrooms on the burger and he looked like he was disgusted I even mentioned it, though he did apologize a few minutes later when I was at the register paying my bill. In the meantime, my mother was using the restroom before we got back on the road and when we left, she mentioned how dirty it was. She'd been in the restaurant once before in the winter and thought maybe it was just how the floor looked because of people tracking in mud, snow, and salt from their boots but apparently, it looked that bad still now, on a warm summer day. One other thing that bothered me - when I was paying my check, I noticed the Pepsi refrigerator they had at the front counter looked like it had mold toward the back (left side, about third shelf down). I also noticed a bowl, uncovered, of chocolate sauce. I remembered earlier when the gentleman was going over dessert options with someone else, he'd mentioned hot fudge sundaes. I'm thinking that was the fudge and it was just re-heated whenever it needed to be poured over the ice cream. That was enough to make me glad I didn't order dessert. Not necessarily a place I would visit a second time, but convenient at the time and they make a fairly decent burger. read more

Where should I start? With the 9-year-old who was clearing and setting tables? The cold, overpriced buffet? The staff in shorts & flip-flops? The positively filthy interior? The waitress was friendly and the maple syrup is real, but that's about all this place had going for it. Part of this experience is my own fault. When I walked in and saw how filthy the place was and what a weird vibe it had (we literally felt like all eyes were upon us as we walked through, as if people were saying, "who are these strangers? Ain't seem them 'round these parts before..."), we should have just walked out and gone to our regular breakfast place down the road. But sometimes places like this have awesome food despite appearances. Plus, someone we trust had told us it was a decent place to eat, so I decided to press on. I wish I hadn't. First, I'm not using hyperbole - there really was a child clearing and setting the tables. Not only that, as she set the tables, she touched every piece of silverware by the part that people put in their mouths, not by the handles. I'm guessing since she couldn't have been more than 9 or 10, no one told her that she's not supposed to do that. And even if they did, how often did you pay attention to stuff like that when you were 9 or 10, especially if you were being forced to work in your family's diner on a Sunday morning instead of watching cartoons? I also watched her handle trash and then set tables immediately afterward, without washing her hands. This should have been my cue to bolt, but we'd already sat down at our sticky table and been handed grimy menus and been served watered-down Maxwell House coffee by a waitress who was friendly enough but was wearing strappy sandals. That's safe, right? Apparently that's the dress code there, since everyone I saw working there was wearing flip-flops or open-toed shoes of some sort. We were informed that there was a buffet. We thought that would be the safe bet. We thought incorrectly. The buffet table was grimy, and the hot and cold sections were divided by a broken divider covered in ripped tin foil. There were rubbery scrambled eggs, brown-n-serve sausage, some kind of weird quiche, biscuits and gravy, home fries, and french toast. The syrup was real maple syrup, so there was that going for it, but the fruit was obviously from a can, and the chocolate pudding (why?) had been sitting out so long there was a film on it. I didn't partake. Also, what kind of breakfast buffet doesn't have bacon??? After we picked at our lukewarm food, we got the bill. $20 and change for two breakfast buffets. Really? Sorry, but $10 for frozen/canned reheated/reconstituted institutional food is just too expensive. I've paid far more for breakfast buffets, so it's not like I feel as if $10 is too expensive for a breakfast buffet, but at other places I've at least gotten hot eggs, real sausage, fresh fruit...and bacon. Now, maybe if we'd ordered from the menu we'd have had better luck with the food quality, but I don't think I'll be giving it another chance. Too dirty, too weird. And definitely not worth it. read more

The food was alright for a small family restaurant. We could have done without the chef yelling out of the kitchen at the waitresses. The wait staff was very nice, polite,, but didn't ask to refill coffee. Probably won't be back. read more

As a waitress for over one year here..I would recommend going to save a lot. All the food is store bought, mostly save a lot and restaurant depot. Cook never wear gloves, has been caught going to the bathroom with no handwashing. Everyone smokes right in back of house. Only thing that is real is maple syrup. Pot pies, save a lot, lasagna, save a lot, side salad...tons of lettuce with a few onions, two tomato's and frozen cheese. Buffet...frozen sausage and all canned food. Not to mention buffet is all leftovers from the whole week reheated...I quit because I wanted to on the books for about one year. When I got fed of up doing the work of two others, and no chances of taxes..I quit...not to mention never received my last check....I could go on but I feel like its to mean. One last warning..get the package butter, you won't have to scrape mouse poop off your butter that sits wide open all day all night! Say hello the the stray cats in the back storage room with probably more critters and bugs! Watch for flee bites also! Want the truth about this cute diner...here it is first hand. read more

Small restaurant that was open Easter as we drove by and needed to eat lunch. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was good and priced less than we are used to paying. Seems a lot of regulars come here as glassware on their wall holds names. No booths but all tables. There is approximately 15 tables so it's a small place. At time we were here, we saw only two employees, both wearing jeans and a tee which makes the atmosphere to us more relaxed. Waitress referred to a few customers by name. The cook often was seen out talking to the customers. The bakery portion is small display case. We did not really look at that. There was specials available that was written on a dry erase board. Was there this morning and wanted to have a nice large breakfast with crispy hash, crispy homefries, over well eggs and salt rising toast. When my meal arrived the only things that were crispy were my eggs and toast. The eggs were like rubber and I was able to pick them up with my fingers in the air, they were completely overcooked and brown from the overcooking. My toast, and the toast of my husband was so hard that he had to let it soften in his mouth before he could chew it. My crispy hash and homefries were far from being crispy. They were both limp. The wait for drinks on my arrival was too long, and refills on coffee were far and few between. I am a breakfast cook in a restaurant and would have loved to go to the kitchen and show these people how it was done, but have decided that this is my last meal in this restaurant. I was never so disappointed in my life and this was the worst breakfast that I have ever been served. read more
