A lot like qdoba, but better. You could tell the food was freshly prepared (and I came half an hour before closing). Staff was friendly and concerned about the cleanliness. They helped me pick something out since I had never been there before. Made the choices simple and let me know when he was offering something that cost more. The burrito I got was wrapped well and was easy to eat. Overall good experience. I decided to come here based on the review about this being locally owned. I hope that's true. read more

Great food, pleasant employees, not loud at all and most tables were in use at the time. Nacho chips are very good. All the salsas that I tried were very flavorful and went well together. The kids also enjoyed their kids meals which is saying a lot considering they don't eat all their good anywhere but they did here. My wife said the bacon ranch burrito was "pretty good". read more

Don't bother going to a national chain Barbacoa's has them beat. Wonderful, fresh ingredients, with a lot more variety than you'll find elsewhere. The steak burrito is fabulous, and I love they offer fresh cilantro! The ambiance is cool and eclectic, and it's so nice they offer beer and wine to make the meal i little more special. Good food and friendly people. It is a lot like Qdoba but spicier. The people there helped us figure out what we wanted and made great suggestions. The decor is simple but nice. We will definitely be going there when we travel through Spearfish. I would recommend the steak fajita borrito. read more

I'm a long-time Chipotle customer from the Northeast (not a lot of other burrito places where I was), so I looked forward to trying this place. The wrap was steamed too much, so it was a bit soggy, and the barbacoa dripped a little too much fat, but overall it tasted great. I didn't see brown rice - I would have liked to have it instead of the white rice. I liked the selection of toppings, especially the salsas and the veggies. About $9 for the burrito I liked, but it was large and filling, definitely 2 meals for me. I liked the music and vibe of the place, and I'll be back. read more

Great place to get tacos and burrito bowls. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and quick service for 7 of us. Prices were right for sure. We even ordered some tacos to go after we ate. We have Chipotle and Qdoba in our area, Indiana/Ohio/Michigan. Barbacoa's is much better! read more

Its a great meal if you are super hungry. At times the food is under seasoned but all and it is a good meal for a good price.

We were FAMISHED! Didn't want any fast food but were in a hurry to get up the canyon and hike are fat butts off. Saw this place while scoping the doughnut shop across the street (which turned out to be closed for good) out and said "oh ya!" Went in and felt right at home. We were pretty hung over and our main man Zach helped guide us through the ordering process! My girl ordered a pretty rad shrimp burrito concoction with curry sauce and I got a buffalo chicken one. As our mouths watered and stomachs growled Zach says "I can make it bigger man". We said HOOK IT UP and he gave me double blue cheese crumbles and extra shrimp for my lady! We added a honey habanero brownie to the order and a couple of sodas (wish we could have done beer, as they had it on tap but we were to hung over)! Bounced out and chowed down as we drive up the canyon.... Been talking bout our food and service ever since! Thanks so much Zach, we will be back for your specialty rice bowl! read more

Not bad...not a great value. We had the chicken nachos and a chicken and ranch burrito with one soda and it was almost $20. The nachos were kind of small, and the salsa was runny, so the chips were soggy by the time they were half gone. The burrito was pretty good, but the rice was not fully cooked. The staff was friendly. Filled our stomach, but not overly satisfying...at least not enough to come back. read more

Fantastic food, in short the best Americanized Mexican I've had. Definitely better than comparable chains such as Qdoba and Pepperjax's in both flavor and amount of choices offered. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere about it that complements the food being served. My only qualm was the staff, which were definitely stoned out of their minds. My girlfriend had to deal with an employee who looked slightly over her shoulder the entire time, and we had the great opportunity of finding out that they're taking hits out back. Despite that, an excellent eater, will for sure need to visit again! read more
