This was an extended trip after we visited Taormina. We took the 20 min drive higher up and parked in the garage. This place was our target and we found it rather quickly. It's 3 stories and is penis themed(it was not my idea, but what the hell) We all got shots and took our custom shot glasses then headed out. Worth a trip as the town is a bit less crowded than tourist favorite Taormina.

I had the Penne pistachio pasta here (which was outstanding btw) but this place has a totally different theme that also happens to start with a P. Chew on that when deciding whether to come here. Well, maybe don't chew on that...also maybe don't-....er, nevermind. On with the review :)... After hiking from Taormina to Castemola, this famous bar / restaurant in the cathedral square was one of the first we saw (and had also heard about beforehand). It's multi leveled (maybe 5 small floots or so)with little balconies on each floor. It was cooler and very sunny so we sat just inside the balcony. A group of what appeared to be an Italian Bachelorette party came up the stars and sat in a giant separate nook with a huge table and giant wooden decoration on it while we ate. As mentioned my pasta was excellent one of my D.C.'s had the seafood pizza that had mussels, octopus and all sorts of other sea critters on it. It looked amazing. Despite having to run up and down multiple sets of stairs, our server was excellent. I thought the price was very reasonably. Just watch where you put your hands...

Nice spot overlooking the bay from high above. Decent drinks go for the view and sunset

One of the coolest bars/restaurants I've ever been. Food was great and drinks are fantastic. Highly recommend the 'Felattio' drink, very Gustoso!

This is a fun place to taste almond wine, enjoy the views of Giardini Naxos and of course, take in the phallic decor

We came here for a couple of drinks just because it's THE thing to do in Castelmola. It obviously has penises on every inch and every corner of the building. It's definitely a very unique place but it is very touristy. It's also right next to a church which I think is hilarious. It has a wonderful view of the plaza and the coastline. We didn't eat here because everyone told us that the food was not good.

The Penis Bar is how Americans refer to this restaurant. It's theme is fertility. There are phallic statues, wall hangings, symbols and many more connotations. It just makes this bar all the more unique, but not a place for children. Although, I have known of a few women who have conceived after visiting this place. Be warned! The ristorante goes up several levels. The best place to sit is somewhere near the top of the building for a beautiful view of the sea, of Mount Etna, and the Sicilian coast line. The menu may seem limited to some, but its just simple, traditional Sicilian. Bruschetta, Cheese, Fruit, Salad, Prosciutto and Fruit - get any one of those for an appetizer, then follow it with either pizza or pistachio pasta. The town of Castelmola is known for its sweet almond wine or Vino Alla Mandorla. You can get a bottle when you visit Turrisi and it comes in a penis-shaped bottle. Keep the bottle once you are done drinking the wine as a conversation piece. If you visit Taormina, make sure to take a ride up the hill to Castelmola. A visit to Turrisi is worth it.

Another year, another visit to Bar Turrisi. They are most known for their almond wine and of course eccentric "male art". We watched the sunset on their 3rd floor patio with a few glasses of almond wine and almond cookies. If you are already in Taormina it's about a 10-15 minute drive farther up the mountain. The town is tiny, quiet and quaint. I was told they opened a female version of this location across the piazza but was told afterwards so i didn't get a chance to check it out.

Enjoying a long, hard cannolo and beer on the roof of Turrisi.

Power to the Penis. That's the takeaway from this obvious tourist attraction in the small Sicilian town of Castelmola, which is almost mockingly within "arm's" reach of the pious Piazza Duomo. The penile-enhanced theme of this bar and restaurant is inescapable, from the member-handled wood chairs, to the suggestive artwork, to the titillating tiles in the bathroom. Furthering this phallic obsession are their tasty line of Cannoli. Lounging on the rooftop patio offers impressive views of the church, the Ionian Sea and the steaming Mt. Etna.

View from the top floor is breathtaking.

What a wonderful surprise. Provocative decor abound, this place is wonderful. The food was great. The service and atmosphere make it a must stop on your visit to lovely Taormina.

First off , I had trouble trying to figure out how many stars this review was going to be and after realizing how much fun I had just looking around at stuff , i'd have to give it 5. The Penis bar , which the people I have talked to know it by , is a must go to place if you are in Taormina. Even if you do not intend to purchase anything , just go inside and let your imagination humor yourself and your friends. recommend not coming here with your Mom if you are a guy and not coming here with your Dad if you are a girl. It'd be funny , yet awkward if you do. I also recommend getting a souvenir here. Penis Noodles , Penis drinks , Penis dolls , Penis anything. Penis Penis Penis. Dicks everywhere. As a tradition , guys have to unzip their pants and let their penis hang out when you enter the building.

Not trying to be mean but this is the worst pizza I've ever had in my life :( it was watery AF. Literally gagged eating any part of it.

**SCAM ARTIST ALERT** Spoiler Alert: The chef called one of…read moreour guests a whore at the end of our meal and was not going to give us our 13 Euros in change. Let me start with the pros: - Good music playing outside that lured us in. - Now on to the cons: I attended Red&White on the evening of February 26, 2018 with 3 friends of mine. It was our first night in Taormina and after walking around looking for a restaurant, we were drawn to the music playing from the restaurant front. While perusing their menu outside from a good distance, a man came running to open the door and greet us. It was Gianluca, the owner. After being seated we were met with an enthused speech from Gianluca in which he told us how excited he was to have us there and how passionate he was about serving food to the public that was organic, authentic, and delicious. This was CLEARLY a lie. First, we tried ordering several different bottles of wine on the menu that we were then told were not available. While this was odd, it was only our first problem, so it wasn't too much of an issue. The real issues began when we ended up ordering. Amongst the four of us, 3 ordered pizza and 1 ordered salad. Immediately upon ordering our meals, Gianluca's temperament changed. He asked in an annoyed tone if we would like to get a starter, and we politely declined. It wasn't until we got our food that we reached the point of being appalled. The 3 pizzas were disgusting. They weren't fully cut, they were undercooked, and honestly resembled diarrhea. Additionally, specific key ingredients like basil and oregano that were supposed to be included on my pizza were not included (one single leaf was as you can see in the picture). We were all shocked when the salad that was ordered by one of us came out and was completely inedible, and clearly vegetables from a jar. After receiving our food, we were not checked on once more. For such a personable and attentive owner at the beginning of our meal, it was like a switch was flicked inside of him after we chose not to order any of his "daily specials" or other pricier items on the menu. We were completely ignored. It was not until we asked for the check that anyone came by again. We received the check and immediately paid it in Euros. We waited on our 13 Euros in change for about 10 to 15 minutes until finally one of us went to ask for our change back. She was greeted with a surprised "oh..." before they finally gave us our money - we had never said anything about wanting them to keep the extra Euros. To top it all off, on our way out of the restaurant, one of us tripped. The chef proceeded to call her a whore not knowing that she spoke Italian. I have never been so horrified and embarrassed by a restaurant experience. I wish I could describe the level of unprofessionalism that both the owner and chef displayed, and I was truly embarrassed for the people of Taormina that this joke of an owner and restaurant are trying to sell this place as "authentic, organic, and locally sourced Italian food." I am from the southern United States and have never had any Italian food there or anywhere else in the country that was as bad as this. Bonus if you made it this far: the bottle of wine we finally settled on (after the 3 bottles we asked for first weren't available) was amongst the worst red wine I've ever had, the white wine tasted like fermented apple juice, and the free bread was stale. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for the worst dining experience in Sicily. Otherwise, stay far away for the owner is simply looking to make money by selling terrible, slimy food to unsuspecting tourists. This restaurant and its reviews are proof that reviews can be bought. I encourage you to peruse these yourself so that you can get a better grasp on how fake of an establishment this is. He also told us in his enthusiastic opening speech that the restaurant had only been open for a year, when the first yelp review is 2015... Definitely a scam artist.
