I had an espresso which was decent and squid ink spaghetti (my favorite which I can barely find back home) and a Clam Spaghetti. The squid ink spaghetti was just what I expected. The pesto gnocchi was amazing. The waiter was very nice. It was great cool, place with air conditioning that we can go in for a few drinks and gnocchi and be on our way. for the three of us ,three entrées and a few drinks was €50. read more

Food was really good- we had the pasta frutti, pizza, pasta carbonara and fritti calamari. Taste is above par. When in italy told hubby we should eat pasta and pizza. Service ok... as per other yelp members the waitress (not sure if the same) was a bit grumpy. Attentive but pushy. Getting the 3 stars because - on their door was a sign that we can pay with credit card but upon getting our bill, she said the card machine is not working and we need to pay cash... prior to us paying, another customer who ordered just 2 pizzas paid with CC. This was a fantastic dinner. We stopped in because it was close to our apartment and we were hungry. It's a small place but the hostess assured us we'd fit, so we sat down. I was worried that this was just another overpriced tourist trap (Venice is full of them). It's not - this place is fantastic. Firstly, the food was all delicious and freshly prepared. Everyone at the table agreed and we ate the entirety of our plates even though we ordered multiple dishes each! I'd like to compliment the hostess. She wasn't just a hostess - she was the hostess, the waitress, the server, the busboy and the cashier. There was LITERALLY one worker in this small restaurant - and this lady did it all with grace and ease. In between all of the demands of us customers, she was encouraging passersby looking at the menu outside to come in! We went there on December 30 in the evening. We had originally had plans across town for New Year's Eve dinner, but I think we're canceling and coming here tonight instead for a repeat performance! read more

We'd done really well avoiding the traps in Venice but today we failed. Being very tired and very very hungry we were enticed inside by the waitress standing outside and even more so by the crowd of locals inside (I now assume they are treated much better than tourist.) Up till today we had been religious about looking up a restaurant on Trip Advisor/Yelp but today we took a chance. And paid for it. Our simple lunch cost over 70 euros. Thank goodness we didn't order any wine or beer. The waitress was only interested in trying to get us to order more and we foolishly fell for the "bread with olive oil" as a starter offer (dried toast with tomatoes = 12 euros). I knew that there was going to be a cover charge (10 euros) so I wasn't intending on leaving a tip. The waitress made a big deal about telling me there wasn't a tip included and then hovered angrily over me as I signed our credit card receipt. Then I had to ask twice for our receipt of the bill. We had wanted to have a nice dinner out tonight since it's our last evening but thanks to us not being vigilant about the many tourist traps, we will be buying cheapo sandwiches at the grocery store and eating them in our hotel room :( read more

Horrible service! Waited 30 minutes for fish and chips which ended up coming with one tiny tiny piece of fish. The waitress asked us for water but didn't bring it until we FINISHED our food. I'm amazed at how horrible the service was. Don't eat here if you want to be full and happy. read more

Yes we got done too. Didn't check reviews, was just wandering the streets and checking the menu when the waitress pulled us in. Look casual and cheap and just what we wanted but 80 Euro for 2 pastas and a bottle of wine (we asked for 2 glasses of house). Over priced and the waitress was surly and disinterested if you didn't want to order at least 2 courses. Won't be back and will tell her what I think if I see her in the next few days. Shame about the other reviews, if you can get past the cover charge and service fee, the food here is pretty decent. We had the calamari and one of their meat pizza. Both were very tasty and so far best pizza I've had in Venice. The crust was thin and crispy and cheese just melted in your mouth. I wish I could give a 0 star. It wasn't that the food tasted disgusting or anything but the service was horrible. The only thing the waitress tries to do is rip out as much money as she can from you. The family sitting next to me asked for 2 cannoli for dessert. She brings out 6. They tell her they asked for 2. She says 6 is the portion for two. I ordered for a glass of wine. She brings out an entire bottle (At least it was a small one). Before I could stop her the bottle was already open. They slyly twist your words and trick you into ordering more food. Three of us shared a meal here. We shared the squid ink pasta, cuttlefish, and calamari. Don't be afraid to try the squid ink pasta. It's a specialty in Venice. It was a tiny bit on the salty side, but otherwise, I thought it tasted good. The cuttlefish dish looked and tasted like it was covered in the same squid ink sauce and came with polenta. The food and service were great! You should note that we were charged a two euro cover charge per person, plus a 15% service charge. read more

This is our second trip to Venice, and one thing that has been consistent is how hard it is to find good food. This restaurant did nothing to cure that. We came in for pizzas, and the pizza was frankly meh. The margarita pizza is supposed to have cheese and oregano, but there was no oregano to be found. Although we were very hungry, we had a lot of leftovers, and so we asked for a box. The waitress agreed to box our pizza, but returned to our table with all of our pizza wrapped in paper napkins. No bag, no box, just napkins with grease soaking through. This restaurant was so not worth devoting a meal to. In addition, there was one waitress in the entire restaurant. While in the middle of speaking with you to take your order, she would suddenly hurry out the door without a warning in order to try to recruit passersby into the restaurant. Please save yourself the disappointment and move onto the next place. Seriously. read more

Try to avoid this tourist trap- they charge cover charge AND 15% service fee. For as long as I can remember most restaurants in Italy charge only one, if cove charge is included then tip is optional. If you are a tourist in Venice, avoid this place at all costs. 181 trip advisor reviews all will say the same as well.. Yes there's a 2€ person but that wasn't the problem. They added a clear 15% service fee and then the waitress tried to pull a fast one and told us three times service charge isn't included. On top of that, when she took our drink order we asked for one glass of red and one of white. We got a full bottle of each instead. We assumed this was the house wine bottle (our mistake) but ended up being charged an additional 60 euros just on wine. When it came to ordering starters, we asked for fries and after taking our order she came back and in Italian only started saying a bunch of options and brought them all out (2 more starters at 10 euro each). What was supposed to be a simple 30 euro meal ended up costing us nearly 150 euros. Total rip off! I was also grossed out by how the waitress hounded passer Byers to come into the restaurant. This was like a nightmare "getting scammed for being a tourist" experience. read more

You can do much better than this place. The food was average quality. We were charged a cover and they didn't mention it until we got the bill. Be careful if you order wine without knowing the price. Our chianti cost nearly as much as the meal. It was delicious but I probably wouldn't pay 37 euros for it when so many of the house wines we tried were great and very low in cost. The prosciutto was not good and the service was mediocre. There was one person working the restaurant and her boss and workers from his other restaurants kept coming and going. It seemed strange and it was distracting. Apparently this is a Chinese owned business, run by Eastern European and Chinese staff and that took away from the "Italian" experience. Do not go here. The waitress acted as though there was no wine list...then suggested a 36E bottle. When I asked for a lower priced bottle--maybe a chianti, she brought one and clearly stated 25E. On the bill, she had 35E! I tried to complain but to no avail. Her dishonesty ALMOST ruined a beautiful evening in Venice. P. S. the secretive unannounced 15% service charge is not earned here. The rolls were worse than 3 day old pillsbury crescents. Insulting place. I will look up the Italian version of BBB when I get home.
