Our server acted like we were intruding just by being there and that she was put out just to come over to our table and had to look at us, let alone take our order. Seemed clean at first glance, but section of bar smelled really bad, had to move to an isolated table. Although friendly staff, didn't deliver well on service. Food was even worse, chicken nachos were bland and lacking ingredients, and severely poorly presented, as well as was the "chef's burger". "mustard seared patty" was not present and did not taste like anything, and the bun must of been dipped in grease before it was brought to our table. Disgusting. House chips were half good being that half of them were raw in the center and only the outsides were crisp and seasoned well enough. Not to mention it took over 20 minutes to get a single drink. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon headed into the restaurant. It was not crowded at all. Once seated and placing drink orders, we were advised that they were short staffed, no problem. Well, drinks came out and were delicious. When ordering our second round in advance, the bartender continued to stand around with folded arms and talk with someone he knew. When the waitress reminded him to make the drink, he made it wrong. When asked to remake, I watched him just pour in another glass. I told the waitress and she said he made it over . I had to let her know that I watched him Pour it. Needless to say, my next drink had barely any alcohol. That was my last drink order. Our food arrived about 40 minutes after ordering. Brought my husband's sandwich out with no fries. Said they were cooking. Asked for extra ranch dressing. It never came out but was placed on my bill. After reviewing the bill, saw I was charged for three drinks instead of just two. Took another 15 minutes to bring a box out for the wings. Don't get me wrong those Thai chili wings were everything. If it wasn't for the staffing concerns I'm sure this would have been a great visit. I don't fault the staff but management. This place can be a hit or miss depending on how busy it is and who is at the bar. This was my first time ordering a salad , and I come here quite often and it's pretty yummy. You can, during the day sit at the bar with a laptop or for a date or with a group of friends. They have happy hour with great deals. Bar Louie is perfect for any occasion. So barfights. Anyone ever seen one? When I was a kid, I watched a lot of movies and honestly thought I would see more of them as life went on. So I flew in to Baltimore the other day for a family event. Around 11:00pm, and my brother takes me over to the White Marsh shopping center for dinner. The Avenue is the part of the complex with the open air shops and restaurants. Not much was open, and we picked Louie's because the music was below conversation level. To be fair, there was a boxing match on the TV and people were keyed up a little. I settle into my food, and thirty feet away, I see this guy straight up sucker punch his buddy at the bar, knocking him clean off a five foot stool. There was yelling, they were scuffling on the floor. Anyway, the cops were there in like 10 seconds, flashing lights and everything. Carted them off. Watching the scene, I hunched a little in my seat because you never know if one of these chumps is packing heat. I was just trying to enjoy my tasty Louie burger, you know? The namesake burger was really good, honestly. It has this "Louie Sauce" on it, and it resembles a highly elevated Big Mac. I demolished that thing with a Guinness. I will say I was hesitant to go to Bar Louie after a not so great vibe 5 years ago, but glad I did. The atmosphere was perfect for going out but not doing too much. The right amount of "peopleling." Both the food and drinks were delicious! We did have one discrepancy with our check but both the waitress Sydney and the Manager Chanelle were helpful in clearing it up. I came here for happy hour with a friend. It took a few minutes to get assisted but once we were assisted the bartenders were friendly. Since we came closer to happy hour being over, we were able to put in all of our drinks order for the duration of the time we would be there. The calamari was really good, the bater was seasoned and crispy. The wings were good, we were a bit surprised by the price but the amount of wings provided made it worth it. The drinks are realllllyyyyy good. The only thing I was confused about was the presentation of the fries, they were in a small Moscow mule cup with on a bit of fries inside. Our order was given to us in a timely fashion, and hot. 5/5 on the drinks. He and I both enjoyed our tequila, as we usually do. And a 5/5 on the food. The crispy fried pickles appetizer was seasoned well and paired nicely with the dipping sauce. The hot honey chicken sandwich was oh so delicious! Who knew that bourbon jam would taste so good on a bacon burger (That's My Jam Burger)...I was skeptical at first but don't knock it til you try it. Good good! The pineapple ginger cooler, and the island hopper were refreshing. But, the chicken and shrimp pasta was disappointing in that the sauce was watered down and bland. We were going to get the Voodoo pasta (that only has shrimp), but did not get that because our server said it was rather spicy. Came here for the second time. First time was decent, second time not so much. We had a lot of issues from the start. We asked if they served a particular drink and the waiter said he would let us know. He brought something completely different, which we agreed to keep to be nice. The new margarita was really good I will say! Moving on to apps, we got the trio dips and chips. Finished most of the chips by the time food came so they asked if we wanted a refill on chips so we said sure (never said it was an extra charge, seemed like more of a courtesy since we had a lot of extra dip). Took the whole platter with the dips. Came back with chips and no dip?? Then we said something and they bright fresh dip. We ordered food and two people had the chicken parm grilled cheese, but they were given grilled cheese without the chicken parm. Has to wait forever to get new ones. My salad (quinoa chop) was fine. Not chopped, no crouton/flatbread crumbs or what not like it said, but that's cool. The waiter was absolutely oblivious that we didn't have a check and came to check on us and we had to remind him we were done and he forgot our boxes so in short, it was just problem after problem. I've recently started heading to Bar Louie for happy hour and I love it!! All the food pictured here was delicious - especially the avocado toast. And you can't beat $5 GOOD happy hour martinis! I had Louie's cosmo and my friend had the diva. Both were great! Although the diva was a little sweet for my taste. There is one male bartender at this location that is so friendly and entertaining! I had a great time here last night with one of my girlfriends. We try to get together in the area once a month for Mani-Pedis and stopped by here afterwards. We didn't know it was happy hour but we're glad that it was. Great specials. We both ordered Martinis, which are 5.50 during happy hour, and some food later on. I didn't order any apps off of the happy hour menu because I was craving Tacos. I ordered a set of chicken tacos closer to leaving. I've had the salmon sliders (seasoned and cooked so well but the pickled onions are more dry than I'd prefer) with chili cheese fries (which have looked different the couple times I ordered them but always delicious), kids sliders (a little on the dry side probably from being well done, they only have white cheddar on them which isn't very flavorful, and no type of sauce) with tater tots (which were pretty good), Mac and cheese side (cheesy, creamy but could use a little more seasoning), grilled cheese kids meal (this sandwich was Gooey and delicious how a grilled cheese should be!!) with fries. When walking in we were greeted in a timely manner and seated fast. Our server warned us the restaurant was understaffed and that food would take a while. It didn't take as long as I thought it would take so we were happy. The food itself was surprisingly mediocre. We finished the pretzel bites and chili fries, which tasted better than they looked. I had the chicken grilled cheese and ended up boxing up my food just to throw it away after leaving the restaurant too repulsed to try it again. The presentation of the food too was also poor. For the worst part was the clientele. A table in-front of us boasted to other tables about how much they had to drink there and one of the people at their table was completely asleep. I'm surprised that the servers or management continued to let them drink and the man sleep. The table behind us had a woman also talking about how much she was served that day and was screaming cuss words for over an hour and a half. I only left 1 star because I had to... It was me and my husband's first time eating here, and you could not pay us any amount of money to ever go back. It was an absolute mess. To start off, we stood at the front entrance with never being welcomed to be seated. Then, all 3 of our app plates were dirty and smothered with who knows what. We then ordered 2 green tea shots and 2 Angry Orchards, but the bartender "forgot" to warn us that it was last call. And then, we waited over 40 minutes for a chix quesadilla to go.
