I've been coming here for years. Major things it has going for it; location, price and song updates. This is right by the Eaton's Center which is pretty much the smack center of downtown Toronto, easy to get to by ttc or a short walk away. The prices are incredibly fair - you pay based on the room size and duration in multiples of hours. For such a clutch location it'd be reasonable to charge a higher price but the value is really good here. Also, song updates - if a song is a new hit or single from an artist you will most likely see it here - albeit it will be the lyrics only version of the video. The cons - only a slight issue with cleanliness. Some rooms are much cleaner than others, but especially on busy nights we've unfortunately had some rooms where there are stains/spills on the floor or couches, most likely from a previous party. The staff are very helpful, respondent and willing to assist, however unfortunately it cuts into the rental time. When there isn't another party booked right after you, they can sometimes add more time but that isn't always the case, especially on weekend nights.

I've been here on multiple occasions with groups of 6 up to 30+ people. Bar + has been my choice for karaoke downtown since 2011. As a person that is constantly involved in choir, I enjoy singing, and I'm acquainted with a lot of people that enjoy singing, too. But even seasoned singers can get nervous in front of strangers, and that's why we opt for the privacy of the karaoke rooms of Bar +. First off, the location is very convenient for people who spend most of their time downtown and students. It's only steps away from the busy Dundas station, and a reasonable 20 minute walk away from the St. George campus. However, it might be hard to spot the blink-and-you'll-miss-it door to the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor establishment. There is a bar and a waiting area when you enter, so that you can get your liquid courage while you wait for the rest of your party. The beverage and snack prices are not super expensive. They do allow you to order food to be delivered right to your room. What really sets Bar + apart from other private karaoke bars downtown is how clean it is, and their MASSIVE song collection. I was also happily surprised by the updated tablet system and phone app. The app allows users to bookmark their favorite songs, search by song title and artist, and queue the song directly from the phone to the room via WiFi. No more fighting over the queuing remote! Additionally, they also have a collection of the most recent pop hits in their library, not to mention all the old classics. Finally, all the menus are in English, so finding that perfect song to show off your range will not be a challenge.

My go-to karaoke bar on a Friday night!!! The staff are nice and the booths are awesome. The system they have for selecting songs is very user friendly unlike some other nearby karaoke bars I've been to. The drinks are pretty average for Toronto. Always a super fun time here! :)

Between 3pm to 8:30pm you can sing as much as you want for only $15 per person and it includes a free non-alcoholic drink and unlimited water! Since the karaoke bar is relatively newer than the others nearby, the sound system and the furnitures are better too. Considering that the price is the same as other places, I would definitely recommend checking out Echo for happy hour karaoke singing. To pick your songs, you can browse through the touchscreen menu to select the songs you want. You need someone in your party who can read Chinese as I don't think the menu has an English mode, though they do have lots of English songs to choose from including the recent ones. Also, keep in mind that no matter how big your room is, each room only gets 2 mics to sing from, so it may be more reasonable to split into 2 rooms if your party is too big. You can call ahead to book a room for your party, this is when we found out that they are owned by the same people who runs 8090KTV across the street lol. Outside of the happy hours, they have other pricing structures such as by per hour or by per person. Since I have never been here during other times, I cannot say how reasonable their prices are, but just for happy hour, Echo is now my favourite karaoke bar in Chinatown.

Reasonable prices. Came on a weekend and they state online that after 9pm, drink service ($20 worth…read moreof drinks per person) is required. Our booking was from 7-9pm, but by 9pm we wanted to extend our session for another hour. Thankfully, they allowed us to do so without enforcing the drink service. Tambourines were available in the room and the lighting was great. Only downsides are the lack of space in the room due to the table in the centre, making it impossible to dance, and the difficulty in using their karaoke system. But the workers explained the buttons properly and we were able to figure out the rest through trial and error (how to skip songs, no displays or indication if you've added a song to queue, so if you press multiple times it will also add the song multiple times). The drinks are expensive ($11 for a gin and tonic). Bathrooms were decent. There is a bar outside for drink service. Mood and atmosphere with dim lighting and disco lights are great. They offered us a pitcher of water and several cups when asked.

Unfortunately, the controls were all in Korean and even though there was an English menu it was hard to navigate so we had to ask the bartender to help us out. Prices are reasonable but not as cheap as one of the other popular karaoke bars in the area. However, I do recommend this spot if the other location is booked full. They seem to have most of the english popular song choices. Keep in mind that this karaoke bar is upstairs and not accessible.

I almost missed Freezone; you walk a few steps down to the basement level of the building to get your singing on. Pricing isn't too bad. It cost our group 60 an hour which is basically a dollar a minute. If you are going to do Bohemian Rhapsody from start to finish ya it'll run ya about 6 bucks :) The room we had been given had 4 couches and comfortably seated all of us with enough seating for about a dozen or so. The room had coffee tables so we had places to put our drinks and there were 3 or so books with the song lists on it. One of the books was thicker than the others because it included entire sections for Korean, Japanese and Filipino songs on top of the standard English lists. The lists though were only in order by song, not by artists so it was sort of harder to find songs because of that. The computer to punch in the codes was not in English but there were notes taped on it to explain what was what so it wasn't that confusing. Overall the place is clean, comfortable and the main middle screen while not that clear, we had 2 smaller higher resolution wide screens flanking the old screen so reading the words was not a problem. You could belt out as loud as you wanted even though there's other rooms adjacent everything's pretty well sound proofed so hearing a neighbor was not an issue at all. Newer songs (say last year or so) were grouped together in and color highlighted lists at the end of the books. The order to those almost seemed to be by month. Either way it wasn't that hard to navigate and it was fun. The pricing becomes more reasonable if you have a large group. For us 3 hours was only 16 bucks a person. As far as convenience there's parking along Bloor if you can find some and a Green P parking lot north of Bloor on Clinton. Christie station is right across the street so the TTC is a stone's throw away.
