I came on a holiday around 4:00 and there were still many rooms available. They gave us a massive room for just the 5 of us, but shortly relocated us afterwards to another room because there were technical difficulties in that room. They were attentive on fixing any issued we faced. Staff spoke English and Cantonese. The karaoke application they have is limited with English songs, so we mainly used the YouTube app. But the downside is that you can't queue up the next song, but this wasn't a big deal with us. It's literally been decades since I've been to this kareoke legend! Take One y'all! They've spruced up the rooms so they're clean and comfortable. The staff is so so nice and friendly. Most of all accomodating! And affordable. Like, sometimes you just want to chill and not spend a ton. Because it means you can do it more often! At about $15/pp for hours and hours A nice selection of snacks and drinks also! Song choice-wise, we did wish there were more classics like Backstreet Boys or Boyz to Men. I think songs from the 90s are popular because they're very recognizable melodies that are easy to sing. I hope they can expand their song choices! Will definitely come back! read more

A lot has changed during the past: the song selection system, the mics, the pricing, or management style, etc.... nothing is keeping me from coming back lol. Our usual go-to is Noon-K aka 12-9pm Karaoke. Admission is $10 cash at the door, or you can pay debit for a small transaction fee. ** Make sure you get a wristband after you pay. You also get 2 free non-alcoholic drinks (place orders at the front desk when you're ready). After 9pm, it is $15 cash at the door, and the same situation if you're paying debit. ** Make sure you get a wristband after you pay. We were 9 total and there was plenty of room to sit, stand, and move around. Music selection can be done via an app that you download to your phone. The app could be a bit more user friendly but it sure beats using the remote. Now to music selections. They do offer decent selections of English songs but the list could use an update. Some songs were non karaoke but rather just the music video. I can't comment on Asian songs but I did notice that there were plenty of them. Great service. However, the experience I had was terrible and should be a staple example to business owners that even 1 bad interaction, will diminish any credibility you have built, and make me not want to go back. Not the best karaoke spot I've been to. You only get 2 mics per room which is annoying having the share mica with more than 2 people. A lot of the songs don't have subtitles and the subtitles in other songs move too fast for the music. The app you download to use as a remote control is glitchy and a lot of the songs aren't in English, either. The food is super cheap so you definitely get a good bang for your buck. The selection of food is pretty questionable (picture of menu attached to this review) and the food we did end up getting was mediocre at best. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I always have this dilemma where I want to give a place four stars, but end up giving them five if I had an overall good experience. After a massive dinner with coworkers + the bff @ tsuki izakaya two weeks ago, we landed at this karaoke spot since someone in the group knows the ppl that run this place. There are so many karaoke bars in the area that are comparable and maybe even one that is noticeably better. However, I've come to this one several times and never had an issue or any complaints. First, parking. It's free, but the lot is always busy at night since there are other social establishments in the same building. We were able to get parking in the front without having to wait long on a Friday. The karaoke bar is on the third floor with your choice of stairs or elevator. I've been here before and always knew the elevators are seriously old and slow. Every other time I've come here, I take the stairs for this reason. On this night, we all decided to climb in since we were all too full to walk up. We pressed *3 and it stayed on the ground floor for a while and the doors wouldn't open. It was more funny than scary because we just knew how these old, sketchy elevators are. Since we were on the ground floor, we were able to get the doors open and walk out safely. I wish I looked up the capacity for that elevator, we were a party of 8 (and although full) fit comfortably in the elevator. I don't know how to upload videos on yelp, or else I would show you what happened. (Crappy Snapchat screenshot to come). Although we normally get the all you can drink (aycd) deal along with the huge party room, complete with idarts and a beer pong table... On this particular night we were a group of 8 looking to have a more chill night. We were hooked up with a really big room that could have easily fit double the amount of people. The room had clean floors, tables, seats and walls. We were also given dice to play with. The bathroom (I went twice throughout the night, were clean both times. The first stall was missing toilet paper the whole night, but that was the only off thing. We ordered a lot of beer (mix of Heineken and Coors light), a bottle of Johnnie walker black label with pitchers of green tea and some Red Bull. Beer was ice cold. Johnnie walker and green tea is still my fave when coming to karaoke. The green tea pitchers had too much ice, so we asked for another pitcher with less ice so it wouldn't water down the liquor. The Red Bull was nice if you need some extra energy to last the night. We also got some (what I think were) complementary food dishes. Fries were good and came with ketchup. Curry fish and beef balls are always good snack food. We also got some free chicken wings do the yelp check in! Shoutout to yelp for the extra hook up. The music was fine. I like that a lot of the music videos matched the music (most songs we chose did not have some weird random video playing in the background). I also like that you can download an app to queue your music. They could improve the search feature on this app as it was a little difficult to navigate. I think you could only use the search bar to search by song title, it would be better if you can search it like this and by artist name. I also wish they updated the playlist a little more often. Had some new music, but could have a better variety of old and new songs. This place does not have the traditional books to look through. After hours and hours of singing our hearts out, *I think* everyone paid around $40.00 bucks a person. Staff was really friendly and easy throughout the night. Came whenever we needed something (service button works), brought things out quickly, took a few photos of the group and left us alone when we wanted privacy. The bill was easy to pay for and they all told us to have a goodnight on our way out. They were all very welcoming and nice. Sorry for the bad photos. This karaoke place is located on the 3rd floor and unless you have a large party, the washroom is outside and the opposite side of the elevators. On weekends after 10 p.m. it's a flat $25/person before tax and tips, so you have a $25 credit to spend on anything you like until 3 a.m. with last call around 1:30 a.m. Anything extra will be on top. They are very strict with IDs and everyone would be asked the moment you arrive and ask for a room. The decor was very modern and the seating were all new and very comfy, but maybe it was just bad luck for my and my BF, but their karaoke system or TV screen didn't work for us for about 20 odd minutes and one of the employees was too busy promoting the place's app and songs by Bruno Mars to care to resolve this important issue for us. The app was very easy to use, but every few minutes or so, it would log us out and ask for the access code again to get in. Luckily, they have a pretty good selection of food and beverages, so making the most of the flat $25/person was not too hard. The cheapest item was green tea or hot honey lemon water for $4.50. Our lamb skewers were $12 for 4. Dumplings, fruit punch and salt and pepper tofu were all around $7.50 each. However, I did not like how loud the music playing outside in the lobby was as it protrudes into the closed karaoke room in between song selections or quiet break time. Soundproofing can be better overall. Many of the English songs did not have proper MVs and they practically labelled all western music as Eurpoe, not even Europe, but Eurpoe... I like Ten23 so much more and it is just 5 minutes south of Woodbine on Steeles. To be honest, if I had known that I needed to book a room there first then I would not have come here in the first place. I would recommend this place for larger parties though and those who like to eat, drink and sing at the same time. $5/hr with food and beverage is not bad, but the service could have been a lot better. We asked for another mic and they just ignored us, because it was missing the on and off button and they told us that we just have to get a stick and push into it really hard... First time I went to the washroom around 10:30 p.m. it was clean, after multiple glasses of water later, I had to go back 3 or 4 more times thereafter and someone had barfed inside one of the urinal... and even when I last went inside at 1:30 a.m. it was still not clean. We mentioned a friend was vegetarian so they accommodated with spring rolls which was nice of them. The Shirley Temple I ordered was good but the milk tea was a bit too sweet. With regards to the actual karaoke portion, we downloaded the app but it didn't work so we had to use the remote from the system. It was a bit outdated and extremely hard and time consuming since we couldn't search for a song, but had to scroll until we saw one we liked. Some videos had lyrics that were not timed properly and came up too slow. Other songs we tried didn't have lyrics at all. They were friendly, but everytime we asked for something, the staff would just disappear and not come back. I showed him my yelp screen which didn't have any terms and conditions. He still said no, the owner probably wouldn't allow it, especially on the long weekend. We ordered the mixed plate (half fish half beef) but they must've thought we ordered full of each, cause that's what we got. The flavouring on these made it pretty inedible. It tasted like we were eating smoky burnt fish/beef balls. The deep fried cuttlefish balls were decent. Fries were meh. Honey lemon water was fine, but that one's pretty hard to mess up. In terms of the karaoke, the room was fine, and the song selection wasn't bad. Some songs had the real music videos which was nice. Most though were the landscape/girl/guy generic karaoke videos. I went here two times. First time I loved it we had our own room and we had a wire which we could connect and play our own music. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed. Due to my good experience I decided to go here for my birthday. Second time I went here last Saturday for my birthday I absolutely hated it and possibly won't go back. To sum up the night we all ordered drinks upon arrival. Three of us ordered Virgin drinks because we do not drink however the other four of my friends did order alcoholic beverages. We were just singing and having a good time and half an hour later the attendant comes in and asked us if we would like any more drinks to which we replied "no thank you" and she left however about a minute later a male worker barges in and starts searching around our room. We were all lost and asked him what he was looking for so we could assist him. He was silent and kept searching and made us get up while he searched our jackets and also went into my friends purse. He then found nothing and left and my friend and then said he was looking to see if we stuck in bottles since we weren't ordering more. I was furious that he though it was okay to just barge in and start searching us without even asking our permission. I approached him and told him how wrong that was and that we don't drink so we didn't order and how I don't even have to explain myself to him. Complete bullshit. He literally ruined all of our moods. I expressed how uncomfortable he made us and how we would definitely not be coming back. He said how it was routine however my friends who go there often told him no we come often and this is the first time so it's not "routine". He apologized and brought us free shots to "make up" but we still told him how stupid and discriminating that was. Went with four friends to this KTV spot. When you first go into the building it does feel a bit sketchy because it's older and you have to take stairs to the elevator to the third floor. Once we got there, we were asked if we had a reservation but we didn't so it took a bit longer to get a room. The lady recommended that we call to book a room for future purposes. We ended up getting a smaller room because we had no reservation. The seats were dirty when we got in so we had to just clean it ourselves. There's a strong scent of cigarettes inside the building as well but not as strong in the rooms luckily. The sound system was easier to navigate with the DigiKTV remote app you can install in your phone via their complimentary wifi. Their song selection is decent but it still didn't have all the new songs. For pricing, they had a deal for happy hour Monday to Sunday $10 per person when we went from 1pm to 5pm. The deal did not include drinks or snacks like other KTV places. Overall, this place wouldn't be my first choice for KTV but it's a pretty generic KTV place that I'd probably return to one day. read more

Not a bad uptown location for karaoke! A bunch of friends and I checked this place out a few weeks ago and quite enjoyed our time there. The songs are relatively up-to-date but some songs only had the music video without any lyrics. They also have an app you can download before going there. It was a little glitchy at the beginning but ended up working fine for the rest of the night. The app allowed us to choose songs and move songs up/down depending on what we wanted to sing next. It's relatively easy to use if you know the song title you want! Service was also good for us. The people came in quickly when buzzed and answered our questions about the app or about food. The only downside is that the building that It's in smells like cigarettes even though there are signs that say no smoking. The elevator is also kind of sketchy. During non-happy hour, cost is $20 per person (minimum). The $20 per person can be used towards food/ drinks. So if you exceed $20 per person, you obviously have to pay the extra but if you don't exceed or meet the $20 per person in food or drinks, you still get charged $20 per person. There's no charge for using the room & you can use the room for as long as you want. read more

As soon as you get inside the karaoke room, you can feel the floor is so sticky. I am not sure if it is because of the 'design' of the floor or because it is so dirty. The ceiling have holes, windows blinds are broken so they cover the windows with black tapes/stickers. Seats are broken. Toilet floor is also very sticky, the lock of the stall are damaged, so you can't lock the door when you are doing your business. Food ordering method is a very interesting experience. They give you piece of paper to write down what you want, but the back of the paper has been used for other orders before, so when you place your order make sure they look at the side for your order, otherwise you may get something else. Server is not usually available, and you may have to wait ten minutes at the front desk to clear your bill. Food are overly salty, for them, it's probably great strategy to get the customers to order more drinks; not so good for customers... For some reason, their specialty cocktails are bad, taste like diluted drinks. The good thing is... You can use their App to choose song from your phone so you don't need to use their dirty remote. For those who is willing to come to Take One, if you are expecting to 'enjoy', be prepared for a bad experience unless you have very low expectation. After our failed attempt to try a new joint, Mi Lounge & Mix2, we came back to our trusty Take One. Take One has also adopted the downloadable app to select songs system which I can't say I'm a fan of. It would be far more efficient for these karaokes places to have at least one tablet per room with their app already downloaded and ready to go for the users. At least this way, you can expect a more seamless transition from their older remote & song binder system. As expected, Take One stepped up and delivered with much more efficient drink service, courtesy to help out with the app failures and being so accommodating when we arrived with some 2 hrs to closing. TAKE ONE AND TAKE NO MORE. First of all, why these people choose to operate a business with ZERO value in customer service is beyond my knowledge. When my friends invited me to Take One because of their $10/per hour karaoke starting from 1pm to 9pm I didn't expect a 5 Star Lounge, however what I do expect is some respect as a patron that is visiting for the first time. We simply wanted to be in a comfortable environment to sing. From the start I was not feeling the vibe and initially wasted about 15 minutes with the guy trying to reboot the system. When it did reboot, the sound didn't work, the screen went blank and then the mic didn't start. We asked for assistance consistently because of all the issues we were experiencing, but soon felt like a nuisance asking for help by the response of a lot of eye rolling and impatience shown. At that point I was ready to leave and take my business elsewhere, but my friends wanted to stay. They weren't busy so they could have easily switched us to another available room instead of dealing with our constant "interruption." After some time of singing 9pm quickly approached and "happy hour" was coming to an end the lady barged into the room to drop off our bill. "No rush" she said with 20 minutes remaining. Then it was 8:50pm and we were just finishing up a few final songs, again she barges in and asks us if we're ready to pay and they only accepted debit and cash. OK! First of all, we could have stayed longer if we wanted to, but she never asked us. Secondly, can we finish our last songs before being rushed out to pay? We still had 10 minutes left and 15 of it was wasted from the start without compensation. Thirdly, where is the line-up? She was super rude and had no manners. I'm a guest and I feel unwelcomed. I won't be returning as a customer or suggest it to anyone I know. There's definitely some mediocre karaoke bars around the area but it's better to pay slightly more than to receive the terrible service from Take One. There are other karaoke places around that I'm sure are nicer looking but this one is the most value. I've been here twice and each time was a lot of fun. They have a special of $25 all you can sing and that $25 can be used as credit for food and drinks. My most recent visit was for a birthday with 8 people and I was able to make a reservation and our room was nice and spacious. They have an app that makes it easier to select songs it's a bit confusing at first. If you're looking for western/English songs make sure you select "Europe" for easy viewing. There were a few setbacks like the video freezing up or the lyrics not showing but it didn't really bother me. Came here with a bunch of friends and was really surprised at how cheap it was. For their "happy hour" on a Friday night which for $12/person includes 5 hours of belting it out in a private room and 2 non-alcoholic drinks. Cheeaaaap. While the navigation of the music system is a bit of a pain and they don't have a book for reference for the price, it's pretty good. They have all your karoake classics (Journey, Richard Marx etc), enough N'Sync/BSB to relive high school/university days to the newer stuff like Bruno Mars and the Biebs (disclaimer - I did NOT choose nor sing to any of his songs). They also have a pretty good amount of actual music videos to go along songs so you don't have to sing along with a random 80's video montage. Plenty of parking and service is prompt. read more

My friends and I only frequent this Karaoke joint. We usually come in the day time and leave for dinner. They have an app called DigiKTV Remote that you can use to select songs on the queue, works with android and iphone. This convenience makes the experience much more fun to select what you want without waiting for the remote. Food and drinks are pretty good here. If you want to drink I usually do the red wine (cheap stuff) and jugs of sprite, this mix tastes good and loosens people up to get their diva on. The honey tea is good too if you're going hoarse. They give coupons that is equivalent to one person free if you come back within a month. Bill is tip included. The owner is really friendly, we had a birthday once and she came and did shots with us. Not that I want to further perpetuate stereotypes about Chinese people who love to Karaoke, play Dance Dance Revolution, and... okay, so I suppose I am perpetuating the stereotype. What? I love to sing! We ended up at Take One after eating and drinking at the Dragon Pearl Buffet for William T.'s 23rd birthday. It was a quick zip up the 404 and we were there in a flash. Parking was plentiful when we arrived at 10PM. It is located on the third floor (elevator access). The elevator was a bit sketchy as it bobbed up and down once we got in it and the fan made a weird noise. My friend lamented something about "Do they really have Asian massages here?" so I'm assuming that there is a massage parlour of some sort that is located in the building. The second floor is home to a snooker bar, which I believe is owned by the same people. While being led to our private karaoke room, we walked through a dark hallway, with scant lighting that flickered on and off - sh!t did I end up in the massage parlour by accident? Nope... but we might as well have been walking into a room of tantalizing masseuses waiting to give you the daily special. When we finally settled in to our room, glasses were brought as well as dice sets. For those of you who have never been to an Asian karaoke lounge, the dice sets are for drinking games. We ordered a pitcher of vodka cranberry, 2 pitchers of sprite mixed with red wine, and a dozen beer. The food is not included at Take One like some other places in Scarborough. The karaoke menu is a little frustrating to navigate through, and I found their selection of English songs to be a little outdated/incomplete. The sound was not working as we watched a muted KTV while waiting for a staff member to arrive. You can access the staff by pressing the SERVICE button (the only button with a human head silhouette) and someone will magically show up. Its like having your own butler - sort of. The furniture is starting to show signs of wear and tear and could stand to be replaced. At the end of the night, it was $40 per person. I would probably go to Club Mirage at Market Village when I'm in the mood to sing next time. read more
