Average food. Disappointed that it wasn't better. Pizza was ok but nothing special or to go out of your way for. Wait staff confused and slightly rude. Bar staff were polite and efficient. Not a destination for us. read more

Excellent example of an overpriced hotel restaurant. A glass of Justin Cabernet costs more than you'll pay for the bottle at the grocery. The food was fine. My chicken was well cooked and hot, but the risotto was lukewarm. We tried to order a seasonal pizza, but they didn't have all of the ingredients to make it. I don't know why it was on the menu yet. They hadn't made a wine list yet, and when we asked about Cabernets, they brought two samples of Chianti. The service was wonderful and very attentive, at least. read more

Fantastic drinks and service. The bar staff was incredibly friendly. We had a lovely time.

Went on a Sunday night and it was empty. You guys are missing out! Pasta was cooked perfectly -- little bit of bite. Bolognese and orecchiette better than at most of the frequently recommended Italian places here in town. One of the best meatballs after my Italian grandma's! Big winner was the chicken Marsala. Super tender, flavorful, with a perfect crust in the outside and moist inside. Don't sleep on those fried potatoes, either. We will be back. read more

Bar Cicchetti is located in the The Westin Great Southern Columbus, we arrived there about 4:30pm & were greeted warming coming thou the door. We already knew we were Not going to be having dinner just going to try a few cocktails & ordering a few shared plates. All eight cocktails offered are priced at $16.00, our one shared plate (appetizers) was only a dollar difference- Fried Burrata Pepperonata, Arugula, Roasted Garlic, Crostino $17 and the Black Rice Arancini Smoked Mozzarella, Pickled Onion, & Romesco Sauce $16. That pricing alone gives you pause. The cocktail I ordered was the Pistachio Smack ~Plantation 3 Stars Rum, Averna Amaro, Pistachio Syrup, Passionfruit Lime Juice, & Angostura Bitters, our bartender Sarah was great & very friendly. The cuisine itself had lovely flavors, beautiful presentation however the temperature of the food could have been much hotter which was quite disappointing. The decor of the room is outdated, the staff seemed discombobulated, not necessary happy to be there & definitely needs work on polishing their professionalism to each other in front of guests / you aren't back of house where no one can see our hear you. I won't be rushing back especially since the parking situation is a pain. I know they just opened but clearly things are not running as smoothly as wished. read more

Terrible service. Took an hour to get drinks and we left before we ordered any food because our server was sassy to the point of insulting.

The service was phenomenal, great atmosphere, every vegetable on the crostino caponata was cooked to perfection, and the Lumache Neri is the best pasta I've ever had. I will absolutely be returning soon, 10/10 would recommend. read more

Gratuity included in the bill, but still asked for a tip. I only noticed gratuity included because I looked at the 3rd receipt copy on the bottom. So they didn't even make it easy to find out. read more

Arrogant managers with god complex deserve less than 1 star. foods overpriced so general manager can make 6 figures and treat staff like minions. the ambiance gives open floor space for mean girl attitude and dirty looks from management. read more

Made a reservation here for 5:45 and arrived at 6:00 (I know late, but we did confirm we were coming via Open Table text). The host was incredibly rude, stating multiple times that we were late and we may not get a seat because of that. After seating us in the lounge as opposed to the dining room, he again made us get up and move and "squeezed us in" to a table for 4 with a party of 5. The only thing that saved this restaurant was the incredible food. Thank god their chef knows what they're doing since the wait staff clearly doesn't. Hopefully some time open will get this place where it needs to be- being rude to your new clientele will not keep you open very long. read more

Tried this place out for the first time and overall huge disappointment -the night started with our table being given away for being 10 minutes late. All normal restaurants have a general grace period, and given we confirmed through the automated text that an hour or two before, it's baffling they'd fill our spot that quickly -host shuffles some stuff around and says they can seat our party in the bar area (not main dining), which we agree to. All good until after seating and waiting for 10 minutes for any greeting the host comes back to us and kicks us out of the seat and proceeds to tell us 5 of us can squeeze into a 3 person bar booth or leave cause there's nothing else to offer -host was incredibly rude the whole time initial 29 minute fiasco without an apology / sense of sympathy which really started the night on the wrong foot -food wise, black rice arancini and focaccia were great starters -would highly recommend to steer clear from the Orecchiette. Cooked very al dente w/ minimal flavor that is attempted to be bailed out by the pesto and scraps of burrata (and garlic chunks) that don't do the trick -would recommend the chicken thigh Marsala which was delicious -drinks I tried the bourbon twilight that's supposed to be a smoked old fashioned. They have two pretty low quality contraptions used. You either get one that feeds burnt flakes into your drink or the other that hazardously sparks across the table onto your clothes. Neither maintain any smokiness -service aside, the place was incredibly overpriced for the quality, quantity, and experience you get. Some decent dishes, but not worth the overpriced food/drinks, basic experience, and rude staff read more

Host/ waiter JUSTIN was extremely rude, insulting, and unprofessional!!!! 0/10 Food was great though read more

I've been following them on instagram for a while now and have been waiting for this to open. We went today and it was more than I was hoping for! We have several restaurants in our usual rotation and we will definitely be adding Bar Cicchetti. Every dish was delicious and offers fantastic flavors. The lamb shank was amazing and highly recommend it. Our water Matthew was great as was the manager Justin. We will be back for sure. Thanks for bringing something new to town read more

Pretty dang tasty. High quality ingredients. The rigatoni bolognese was hearty and phenomenal. The broccolini was extra spicy and extra delectable. The strozzapreti verde was fairly good. The chocolate gelato was creamy and spot-on. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The ambiance was decent, only negative here is the bar top was a tad dirty. That being said... can't wait to return and enjoy that rigatoni bolognese again. Mmmm. read more

This restaurant would not exist if it was not subsidized by the hotel. The prices are outrageous and the food is mediocre at best. The décor is about 10 years behind any decent city. The staff was disinterested and I don't blame them. Columbus is a decade behind most small cities and 15 years behind big cities. read more

Oh boy two drinks and a bottle of Perrier $91 w tip. That is criminal. Bar tender was great. Table service deteriorated as the night went on. $431 for four people for mediocre food. Way overpriced and location/vibe/ambiance does not make up for it. If you go for dinner expect to sweat and wear your sunglasses indoors. The hostess says, "what? It's the sun!" Really? Saw two tables ask to be reseated. Maybe invest in some shades. Do not recommend! read more

Dined there last night before a concert fortunately arriving very early. Service was terrible due to short staffing, not uncommon these days. Food was good, substantial but overpriced as expected since we'd been there before and chose it for its convenience to the venue. Here's the kicker. The bill came with a charge of $22 for what had to be the skimpiest glass of wine, Sauvignon Blanc, that I'd ever been served. We all thought it was a mistake and checked with the waiter just to make sure. (Two of our friends visiting from New York City were also shocked at the price). In any event if we do go to this restaurant again, we won't on principle be ordering from the bar! read more

Real deal Italian food here. Great dishes and authentic. Makes the rotation in my book.

I apologize for the length of this review. My party of 3 made reservations for 6:15 on Mon3/1 and designated a regular dining room table through OT, I also sent the restaurant a note letting them know that a member of our party was hard of hearing and requesting a quieter spot. As we were driving past we noticed there wasn't a single person sitting in the restaurant, that should have been our first clue. Our fault! When we entered we saw one person sitting at the bar, a booth table of 3 sitting across from the bar and a bored bartender who was too busy to look up from his cell phone to even acknowledge us. Booming music and King King on the jumbotron above the bar set the mood. We waited awhile for the host/manager(?) to come to the desk. Apparently there was no business so they closed the restaurant section and were only seating the bar area. Unfortunately we were not informed of this change so we ended up having to sit at a high top table on stools in front of the window, not ideal. The server informed us no less then 1/2 a dozen times that we were in a "Star Chef" restaurant. So things should have been exceptional, right? No! I improperly order a $180 dollar of wine and that seemed to be a problem, why I wasn't sure. We instead purchased a very nice $95 bottle of wine and 3 appetizers to start. The server explained to us that everything was to be shared, great no problem! When we ordered entrees one in our party requested the rigatoni, the server asked if he would like some "soft sourdough bread to sop up the extra sauce". I said that probably wouldn't be necessary because we had ordered the focaccia and the other two apps came with toasted bread. He wanted the "soft bread" anyway so it was ordered. While the appetizers were good we were not allowed to finish them because two thirds way through eating them the server came back and informed us that our dinners were ready and would we "like them now"or would we like to wait. We explicitly told her we wanted to finish our appetizers before being served entrees. Isn't that the normal progression when dining at an upscale restaurant especially when our table was the only one in there!?! Apparently not here and not for this server, she walked off in a huff only to return three minutes later with our entrees, what!!!! So the 3 app plates and 3 share plates were pushed aside to make room for the entrees, bummer! When served our entrees the server forgot the two side dishes we had ordered, writing the order down would have helped with this. No share plates were given though we were told repeatedly we were to share. The "soft bread" turned out to be the same toasted bread we had left over from the appetizers however there was no extra sauce to ""sop" up because alas the rigatoni was a dry heap of undercooked pasta. We were certain there was no "star chef" in that kitchen and sadly it was reflected in the entrees. The taleggio on the pizza was a mere suggestion and the chicken was just meh. This, coupled with the server constantly calling my female dining partner and me "dear" and "folks" made for a cringeworthy experience. We could not wait to escape this place. That there were no customers should have been a clear indication that something was amiss at this "Star Chef" establishment. I am not a newbie to the dining scene. My husband, who is a chef, and I just retired after 33 years of owning and operating 2 fine dining restaurants. Mr. "Star Chef" please come back and fix this place! read more

Food was really good. I had some of the best mushroom soup I have ever had. My wife had the roasted tomato soup and loved it as well. The drinks weee also top notch. Went here for an anniversary, which was noted on the reservation but not acknowledged by anyone at the restaurant. Service was honestly pretty bad, which was blamed on a wedding party that they were somehow unprepared for. Drinks are overpriced and nothing special. The focaccia is amazing and the only thing I would order again. The orecchiette was extremely disappointing and basic, as was the chicken Marsala. I ordered the pistachio cake to go, which I enjoyed. I would not recommend this place and suggest Pelino's instead. read more

Absolutely delicious! Came here on a Saturday and sat in the bar area. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the food.. I can't say enough good things about it. Way overpriced and bad service. Just paid 30$ for a pasta dish the size of a side salad

Half size cocktails....full size price. Charge me more, but don't insult with a skimpy cocktail!

This restaurant is a true hidden gem, waiting to turn into a Columbus staple. Ambiance was awesome, loved the casual yet upscale vibes. Cocktails were unique and tasty. The arancini was excellent. I stayed at the Westin for four nights while in town visiting a friend for the OSU game. I lucked out with the hotel choice because this restaurant is located downstairs and served as the highlight of my trip. The food is second only to the people who work there. Every employee was outgoing and friendly. They provided great recommendations for my first visit to Columbus. There was not a single dish I didn't like but the Polpetti Di Fabio and Strozzapreti Verde were the clear winners. Can't wait to stop by the next time I am in town! Thanks for a great experience. read more
