Tucked away in a shared space with MotherWolf, this bar is truly a vibe. We had terrific cocktails and the food is k point. It's a fairly limited menu but the food is from MotherWolf so it's pizza-focused but delicious. We had the garlic knot, the Cesar salad atop pizza, squash blossoms and finished with some delicious gelato (pistachio yum!) The atmosphere is mood lighting (dark!) so I couldn't take good photos but I did manage one of the cocktails *Morso di vida (recommended and amazing!)

If you're looking for grown and sexy vibes this is it! we had the best time here for girls night. The music, the drinks, the food. EVERYTHING WAS TOP TIER. SOOO soooo goood. They had a DJ playing records all night. Lot's of disco and 90s rnb. The cocktail menu was amazing. We tried sooo many drinks and all the girlies agreed this is def the best espresso martini we've had so far Our second favorite was the one with honey served with a cute wooden honey wand For food we really loved the fried carbonara. It was actually mind blowing ngl and of course the classic red sauce flat bread is a staple everytime. We will definitely be coming back for our girls nights!

Bar Avoja is one of the coolest restaurants/bars I've been to in recent memory. The decor and ambiance were on point, and the service was impeccable. Located inside Mother Wolf, the space has an upscale, speakeasy vibe to it. In addition, the food was way beyond expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here and cannot wait to come back. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. I highly recommend it!

Had a delightful Friday evening at this velvety Roman speakeasy behind Mother Wolf. Creative cocktails, small but delicious menu, groovy but not overbearing tunes, and jewel-toned decor made for an experience that felt energetic and social but also cozy. Best of all was the spectacular service -- incredibly friendly and professional with excellent recommendations. Even the bus server was amazing; our water glasses were never empty. Will be back, hopefully soon!

The list clearly favors organic and biodynamic producers, which I always appreciate--minimal intervention, letting the terroir and varietal speak without unnecessary manipulation. The flight format was flexible, offering around five selections with the option to choose three pours. I went with a sparkling red, an orange wine, and a white--each bringing its own personality to the table. The sparkling red was lively and slightly unconventional, the orange wine had that textured, skin-contact complexity, and the white rounded things out with a clean, expressive finish. Our server elevated the experience by guiding the tasting order, which made a noticeable difference in how each wine showed. It's always a good sign when the staff understands how to pace a flight rather than just drop it off and walk away. We didn't explore the food menu this time, so I can't speak to the full program, but purely from a wine perspective, it lands at a solid 4 stars for me. The space itself is ideal for a relaxed midday tasting--plenty of seating, with a great outdoor setup. The tall greenery creates a sense of privacy without feeling closed off, making it just as suitable for a casual date as it is for catching up with friends. Honestly, if you've got a flexible workday and don't need to be on camera, this is a pretty perfect spot to post up with a glass and ease into the afternoon.

My gal pal and I came here on a Friday evening for wine flights and bites, and it reminded me why this place has remained such a neighborhood staple over the years. I hadn't been back in at least a decade, so it was nice to see the place still lively and thriving post-Covid. The inside bar was completely packed, but we lucked out and snagged one of the little outdoor tables. We shared the tater tots and a charcuterie board, while my friend got the Croque Monsieur. Everything paired perfectly with the wine flight we ordered from a visiting winemaker from Spain. His name escapes me, but it was such a cool experience getting to hear him talk through each wine personally. Covell does a great job bringing in unique guest winemakers and making wine feel approachable and fun rather than intimidating. I also love that they occasionally host live music, comedy events, and other happenings -- it gives the space a warm, community vibe. Whether you're looking for a casual date night spot or somewhere to catch up with friends over good wine, this place really hits the mark. The staff have always been incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the wines they serve, which makes the experience even better. Definitely one of those special little Los Feliz gems that has stood the test of time.

Do yourself a favor and don't come here. I highly recommend the classic LA ambience at other close by establishments such as The Oaks on Bronson, the Alley in Silverlake or The Cara on Western instead. This place is like a bad Ryan Murphy series. It takes itself way too seriously. I've given them over 4 chances to change my mind since I live around the corner, and they never cease to amaze me when it comes to their entitled snotty staff & overpriced alcohol plus the parking is absolutely impossible! I believe feedback regarding gratuity should never be expressed directly to a customer, as it creates an uncomfortable environment and reflects poorly on the establishment. I did see some tables out on the sidewalk, but not sure if they all belong to them or Santos right next door. They have a good amount of wines that are domestic and international. We didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a table inside at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. This place was busy. I really liked the Hamachi Crudo. That was so good, but there's only 4 slices for about $21. It's dressed in a ponzu yuzu sauce. It was so good that we ended up pouring the left over sauce on to our Tuna Tostada. Both items were fresh and I could not taste any fishiness. We also ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Cacio e Pepe. I thought the risotto was good, but the rice was definitely undercooked. I would have said something, but we didn't have much time left. The pasta reminded me of Mac n Cheese. I thought it was way too salty and didn't really do it for me. Kind of disappointed in the mains, but the 2 apps were really good.

With some folks giving up after using their wait time for drinks and snacks on the benches outside. Spring peas are excellent. That ricotta gremolata is just a nice dressing for the blanced snap peas. Caesar beef tartare Just darling how the bread is sliced into cubes to mimic croutons, so you can mix it all up and eat it like salad if you want. I wish the beef was seasoned a touch more. Lobster rillettes or lobster salad? Don't know and don't care...it's pretty tasty, but a touch more salt would make it even better. The super thin crepe is a nice surprise. Also got the steak frites...a cut that is sous vide before a hearty pan sear with au poivre sauce. Frites served separately to preserve crispness and an aioli. This is a case where the frites were a touch too salty for me. The chowpup did not notice and consumed with a gusto. I wasn't a fan of the crème caramel...the caramel was a touch over for me...just a little too bitter and the custard felt to airy and not vanilla or sweet enough to counter the caramel.
