Baqba was such a good find in Pomona! We're always down for a good burrito bowl, so we were excited to give this place a try. There are plenty of proteins, toppings and sauces to choose from, and they definitely don't skimp on the portions. Everything we tried tasted fresh and flavorful, and the fresh tortillas were a nice touch too. Service is great and ambiance is chill. The whole concept makes it super easy to customize your meal depending on what you're craving. We left VERY full lol. Definitely adding Baqba to our rotation when we're in the area!

Hm I like that this place has the same concept of customizable Mexican food as Chipotle, but with that said I still like Chipotle better for it's flavor and sofrita protein option. This place however does have more toppings such as diced cucumbers, pineapple, and a couple of sauces. They have both the white cheese and Mexican shredded cheese. Since i dont eat meat i went for the veggie salad with a tortilla on the side. I wished they had some type of soy protein or shrimp. Their tortilla is $1 but at least its a big size. With a redbull, my meal came out to about $20 which is pricey for a quick lunch. It terms of flavor it was decent. I got full quickly so I saved a portion for dinner and it tasted better a couple of hours later. I would say it's a solid place for lunch and I would probably stop by again. Workers were friendly and they work fast.

This is a new restaurant in the neighborhood. As soon as we walked in, someone in the back shouted "you are welcome" to greet us. We placed the order at the front and walked around the counter to indicate to the server behind the counter what we want inside the burrito (ie, pinto or black beans, white or brown rice, salsa, pico de gallo, cheese, corn, sour cream...etc). We then order drinks and pay for the food at the end. We seat ourselves at wherever there is an open table. It is a very casual atmosphere. I thought the burrito was a little bit too greasy but flavor was good. The tacos were also good but I thought $5.99 for one taco was a bit pricey. Overall we enjoyed our food. It was delicious. We would come back to try other items on the menu. we had their Baqba steak burrito and tacos.

Baqba is such a great competitor in the fast-casual Mexican food scene! Everything tastes so fresh, from the fresh meat to the freshly made tortillas. The portions are also super generous you get plenty of rice and protein, plus so many topping options! And the guacamole was SO fresh! Even the tacos were huge and packed with ingredients. Every bite tasted fresh and flavorful. IG: socalhkfoodies

Damn near as big as a roll of paper towels- Easily yields two meals unless you're the ghost of Andre the Giant!

Your favorite Yelp correspondent has had his appraising eye peered towards Baqba ever since its "Opening Soon" signs were erected at the beginning of summer. Arrived at 7:05pm on TUE night eager to confirm if they're Chipotle's Daddy and hafta say that my initial impression felt like, well, that little kid who rips a loud honking fart on the wooden pew benches at church. "Hi, welcome to Baqba, what can we get started for you?!" "Yes! I'm here to order two burritos but wanna take advantage of the 25% off promition my son told me about?" "Oh, that?," glances nervously at feet then concludes "Lemme ask my manager." [Geez, did I just ask for the combo to the safe or the secret ingredients in their hallowed queso sauce?] Assistant manager strides over, immediately tells me, without any greeting whatsoever, "Ohhh no. We can't do THAT! You had to be here by 7pm." "Oh I see," I countered, honestly confused because I wasn't aware of any time constraints. "But it's only 7:05pm and it's my first visit..." "We can't do it. Sorry." Then she wheeled imperialially like a pint-sized Darth Vader of customer service and descended back to the kitchen area. Disclaimer: I have NEVER had an issue paying for good food...but I was left with a foul taste in my mouth by the dispasssionate and tone deaf way the asst manager handled my issue. If it were meeeh in her shoes, I would've replied, "Ohhh I am so sorry but you're actually a few minutes late because it did have a time limit on it but since this is your first time and you're only five minutes late I'll honor it but in the future please strive to abide by promotion rules, yes?!" I subsequently placed my order and lemme confirm with rousing acclamation: Yes!!! Baqba is, indeed, an ancient Aztecan expression for "Chipotle's Daddy!" Bigger portions that don't depend on the mood of the server , eight protein choices compared to Chipotle's four or five and deeper bench of toppings including freshly minced onions & cilantro¹, wondrous queso sauce² and around a dozen other choices. ¹ It has always bugged me why Chipotle doesn't offer diced onions/cilantro when they are as quintessentially Mexican as the fries are to McDonald's! ² Your favorite Yelp correspondent, perhaps a bit bamboozled over his jarring, upsetting introduction to Baqba, made like a dipsh*t and completely spaced on adding queso to either my son's or my burritos! I looove the small touches like hand formed tortillas that are carefully toasted on the ripping hot plancha!!! A few minutes later I arrived home w/ these miniature missiles and the first thing that strikes you is their Shaq-like immensity- These easily topple the one pound mark and are the size of my gorgeous bride's forearm! Or for more universally recognized focal point, practically the size of a roll of paper towels! The contents are cozily blanketed inside those pillowcase sized, freshly plancha'd flour tortillas: For mine I selected house steak, white rice, brown beans, onions/cilantro,corn, white cheese and two ladles of crema. Both my son and I had enough food for two meals apiece, which assuaged a bit of the sting from its otherwise pricey $34 tab. Will we return for future visits w/ Chipotle's Daddy?! Are you kidding?! Yes, of course! We just hope that some of the staff refine their customer service skills away from "Del Taco" and strive more towards the "Nordstrom's" end of the service spectrum.

My coworker came here about a week ago and raved about it. I have also seen a bunch of posts about the original Rialto location, so I was excited to try it out today. I know it keeps getting compared to Chipotle, but this place absolutely destroys Chipotle in every way. Bigger portions, better tortillas, decent price, more sauces and sides to choose from. They also let my coworker sample a few of the proteins before choosing what protein he wanted. I got the Baqba steak bowl and they piled on the protein and toppings. At chipotle, they barely give you a spoonful. Here, they cover the rice and beans with the protein. I also got a huge tortilla on the side. It's $1.00 if you order online, but I wasn't charged for It, so not sure if it was a mistake or if that is what they usually do. The food was really good. Very flavorful and every bite was delicious when you eat it with some chips or with a piece of the tortilla. I eat a lot, but even I couldn't finish this bowl and I'm going to be having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I was really impressed with this place. Clean restaurant and friendly staff and they did pretty well for only recently being open. I just hope they continue to give out huge portions and don't cut back on the quality of their food. You should check this place out if you want something a little different than burgers or pizza or other fast food. If you try this place, I'm pretty sure you will never go back to chipotle.

This place is amazing! They make the tortillas fresh and all the meats are delicious you can't go wrong with anything you order. Most important thing was the customer service they were all so welcoming and very nice. My order was quick and the employees were very helpful.

Great portion sizes and welcoming staff. The food is excellent and flavorful. I can't get enough of it and it's nearby my gym which makes it so convenient. Definitely will visit often. There's such a great vibe and awesome choices.

Leslie was very nice and attentive with her service and came to check on us and brought us salsa when we had run out super friendly! Will come back.

Pretty good taco/salad bar

Staff meets the 5 star service!!! They take their time and explain the different types of meat and choices. Their tortillas are all made fresh, and the portions are amazing! Definitely coming back!!!

Yep! This is it; I dare say it's much better than the other franchise that starts with a "Ch" (I don't have anything against them either), but here, they make bespoke tortillas! Yes, you heard me: made-to-order tortillas, warm excellence wrapped around juicy meat and four very generous toppings. The tomatillo sauce should be bottled; it is drinkable- so good! Service is amazing; I just had a hard time hearing them because the place is noisy. Be prepared to take your food to go, because on a Friday at 4 o'clock the place was super busy, and tables are limited. Plenty of parking though. I can't wait to go back already, and we just left.

Usually go to the Baqba in Rialto when in the area, but this time we had to make a detour and found this one just opened in Pomona. Food was really good, place was clean, and service was great. Leslie was really helpful in finding us a seat when it got really busy. She was actively cleaning the tables and floors. She even offered us more condiments and a sample of the sirloin to try when I asked what the difference was between the baqba steak and sirloin. Overall it was great. I'll be coming back to this location when I'm in town.

In the end they stuffed all 12 of us into a booth since we weren't about to try and find another location this late into the morning. The staff was apologetic while giving very passive explanation to the situation which was highly unacceptable. This is unfortunately the last time we will be dining here as this situation has left a bad impression on us.

The atmosphere was warm and festive, with great music and beautiful presentation on every dish. The food was excellent -- the carne asada tacos were flavorful and perfectly cooked, the enchiladas were rich and comforting, and the fresh guacamole was some of the best we've had. The margaritas were also amazing and paired perfectly with the meal. What really stood out was the service. My friends and I had plans to go to ZAMA and found out it was closed so we had to find a new place…read more We ended up here just based off the pictures. Let's start with the margarita I got, I did not taste any alcohol in it (and I cannot have strong drinks! So that can tell you a lot) not worth $18. We basically paid for an expensive agua fresca! Then I ordered the carne asada skewers. The first bite was okay, not very flavorful, but I thought I could just finish it. As I go through the meat, I notice so much fat and very little meat. I grab another piece and bite into it, I start chewing and realize that it tasted like raw meat (with a hint taste of raw meat that spent too much time in the fridge) I immediately got nauseous and spit it out on a napkin. I told our server and he asked me what else I would like. I then ordered the fish tacos, he brought it out in less than 5 minutes (kind of fast if you ask me) I try a small piece of the fish and it wasn't bad, I give a piece to my friend and she only got fat. Why is there fat in my fish tacos! I tried to pick through it so I could atleast get full, but I couldn't do it. The server came to pick up our plates and asked me if I didn't like the tacos, I said no but that's okay don't worry about it. I was so disappointed because I was starving. My friend ordered the rib eye tacos and had to pick through it too because most of it was fat. The only good thing that happened was that our server did not charge me for the two plates that I didn't eat. We thanked him, paid the check and left. Unfortunately, this was not the best food and we were excited to eat and celebrate my birthday.

For my entree I had the Navajo taco which was a giant fry bread topped with red chile beef, beans, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and chipotle aioli. This was a true masterpiece of flavors.
