The restaurant was hotter than all hell inside, which made the experience uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. Emily girl!!! If it weren't for Emily this experience would've have been as great as it was. From the gecko the greetings, the experience, the food, the whole restaurant was fantastic. I give it 100/100. Emily made sure to explain and answer every question we had. She advised us that we could sample the meats and she took the extra step and even brought us a little taste of the baqba steak. So much flavor, so tender. Cooked to perfection. So incredible that they're expanding and rightfully so. I just hope they're able to maintain the same quality control and customer service. But as it stands, Baqba is basically the authentic Chipotle, except every aspect is bigger and better!!! The portions here are easily double the amount and the quality never feels sacrificed. Customer service is top tier too. We came on Memorial Day and there was a sizable line but it moved relatively quickly. They were even handing out meat samples and water while people waited which was such a nice touch. The steak arrachera is my favorite and their fresh flour tortillas are absolutely top tier. The set up is meant to build your own bowl or burrito. I decided to go for a bowl and my friend got a burrito. The guy warming the tortillas recommend the arrachera or al pastor. I went with 1/2 & 1/2. I really enjoyed the arrachera meat. It was seaoned well. Did not really care for the al pastor. It had too much of the clove or cinnamon taste for me and a little sweet. This place does not play when it comes to the portion size. Everything is huge. They have various sauces to choose from, but not knowing the spice levels, I went with medium (which was pretty mild imo). I also got some of their cilantro salsa and a side of spicy. Wow ! Glad to see this place now opened, a lot closer then the Rialto location! They have a lot of staff, and it seems like they are still getting used to everything since I ordered a kids meal, and found out myself that it does come with chips and a drink. Overall the kids burrito was quite good, as you get to put what you want and not get limited items unlike some other places (not gonna name). I got the most ordered steak ara, and it was actually quite good. Once I actually tasted the food, it was one of the biggest letdowns ever. Nothing about this place tasted Mexican whatsoever. The chicken was incredibly salty and bland just like the rest of the ingredients. The rice had a strange flavor that reminded me more of Middle Eastern rice. Every topping lacked seasoning, and the only thing I could actually taste in the bowl was the cilantro. Even the salsas/chiles were gross and had an off putting garlic flavor to me. Spent almost $16 on a sad and flavorless bowl. Although Chipotle is stingy with their portions, I have to admit that their food at least has flavor. I'd honestly recommend Chipotle or Cava, over this place. They have much better flavor and more affordable prices. I don't recommend Baqba at all and won't be coming back myself. read more

I went mid day and was not super busy, they had a ton of employees working and they were pleasant. I tried the pastor burrito. And these burritos are as big as advertised. I actually got light rice in it and was still massive. I thought the pastor was average and pretty sure it had a super strong cumin flavor. Over all was just ok, if you want a large burrito this is the spot, they do have other meat selections which I would go with only because the pastor did not hit. 5/2/26 Baqba Mexican Grill Montclair, CA...Came here today with one hours notice on an IG post I came across for the grand opening. Stood in line about an hour. Was given a couple bottles of Niagra water and samples of Asada and Al Pastor meats. Leslie and Valeria were great servers outside while in the lines! Once inside I ordered 2 giant Asada burritos and a big glass bottle of Coke to-go. The Asada here is so tasty! I also put black beans. White rice, cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, and green salsa! So yummy! All the other workers I came in contact with were so nice! The restaurant itself is big enough for indoor dining. Good for any size party. I'm not sure if it's because it was not busy but you can tell they had a lot of the meats sitting there for hours, looking really dry. A burrito would be too big for me so I went with a bowl, getting chicken as my protein. Lacked a lot of flavor and nasty dry. The toppings options are great, so many to choose from, depending what protein you order. The main thing I noticed is how the girl would pour the sides touching the ingredients, double dipping and by the taste of the guacamole, it tasted like it almost went bad by the spoon being dipped with sour cream and all the salsas and other ingredients. Came here with some friends this weekend and I highly recommend giving it at least one shot if you're in the area. Here's the rest of my assessment. 1) Food is really tasty and portions are HUGE. 2) Get the steak arrachera unless you can't tolerate beef or you've already had it. 3) Wait is unacceptably long. 4) Packaging is a little annoying to open although it probably prevents leakage. 5) They have multiple options (tacos, burritos, quesadillas). My personal recommendation is the quesadilla for the strong flavors packed in one. I came here with my friend who's a little bit more of a connoisseur with a sensitive palate and he said individually, the ingredients are good, but the combinations are not balanced and a little excessive. What is that line for, will let me tell you, it's a new spot, where the tortillas are made fresh in front of you, you can see the meat that's being freshly craved, were your order a burrito(like me) or a bowl, they make it right front of you. The staff was friendly, polite and I felt had the right peace, I don't feel rushed to pick my food and was able to ask about the different sauces, and sides. The place is very clean inside and outside and not too nosy on the inside if you would like to eat there. Now we waited in line starting outside for about 20 mins, but this line wasn't too bad and for me it was worth it my burrito was packed with chicken. I drove about 30 minutes to get here and it was a total letdown. I ordered the Baqba steak bowl and the portions were just slightly more than Chipotle, and nothing like what I saw on social media.
