I am finally back in the area and I completely forgotten how BOMB this place is! The staff are all very friendly and the service is excellent. They do get busy, but I still got my food in a timely manner. I got 3 fish tacos and a large hibiscus agua fresca. Last time I only tried a little bit of pepper because I was being a wimp (I don't usually eat spice), but this time I consumed the whole thing. It completely changed my world because now at 8:15 PM I am still thinking about the delicious pepper. Next time I am going to ask for an extra one. I think I am in love. I can't believe I'm saying this because I've been to other Taco Nazo locations for years, especially the original in La Puente, but this was actually my first time visiting the Taco Nazo location off Grand across from Mt. San Antonio College and honestly the location is perfect. The second I walked in, it was nonstop customers coming in and out, which is always a good sign. Even with how busy it was, the staff really stood out to me. The best way I can describe them is "bien atentos," like they treat you warmly and make you feel comfortable right away, almost like family. That kind of energy changes the whole experience. The music was great, the vibe felt super homie and welcoming, and overall it just felt like one of those spots people genuinely enjoy coming back to. I ended up getting the taco sampler and it was fantastic. Everything came out surprisingly fast considering how packed the place was, and you could tell the kitchen had a solid rhythm going. It honestly reminded me why Taco Nazo has such a loyal following in SoCal. The only thing I'll mention, and hopefully it improves over time, was the health rating posted in the front. It made me pause for a second, so hopefully that's something they tighten up because the food and overall experience were genuinely really good. Got 3 fish tacos and my husband got the Al pastor burrito (despite me telling him that they are known for fish tacos) but I was glad we got to try both! Friendly and considerate service, love how they asked us if we wanted cilantro in our food because my husband is not a fan of cilantro. The fish tacos were perfectly fried and crispy, topped with cabbage, salsa, cilantro and crema. They offer green and red salsa and normally I gravitate towards the green salsa but I really enjoyed the red salsa here! It had a smokiness like chipotle or something that I really liked. Al pastor burrito was also very filling and flavorful! They even had chunks of grilled pineapple in there. Located right across the street from Mount San Antonio College, this restaurant was fully enclosed and had a full counter for ordering and pick-up. The decor made the restaurant feel comfortable to eat there and was adorned with nice history of the restaurant, including the competition between other taco restautants. I ordered the grilled fish tacos and Carne Asado tacos, which are my favorite for street tacos. The staff were nice and were fairly quick filling my order. Taco Nazo is a staple in my world! Delicious tortas, tacos, burritos. The fish taco is legendary for being very generous huge battered white fish topped with creama, pico de gallo, and cabbage. Cilantro and onion plus lime complete it. Also worth mentioning are the fish burrito, shrimp taco, and my favorite: Potato Tacos! They also do a respectable carne asada - not sure if carnitas are still on the menu. You really can't go wrong here. Chips are the thick freshly fried type. This location is across the street from Mt. SAC. Parking is terrible, so be aware. Luckily, turnover is high - please be patient and careful. Lunch is super busy, so use their online ordering to minimize wait times. I always get my order to go- it is very tight to eat inside and can be super loud. I always check the bags before I leave to ensure I have all the salsa, napkins, lime and peppers I need- they are usually pretty consistent, but like I said, super busy, so save yourself aggravation and do a quick check! I bought 2 orders of fish tacos, shrimp ceviche, and cheese quesadillas for our late lunch today. Fish Taco ($4.49/order x 2) - The fish tacos were so delicious. They were lightly battered & fried. They are also topped with cabbage, tomato, onion, cilantro, and their signature sauce. Shrimp Ceviche ($9.99) - oh my God! They tasted heavenly. I only ordered a small size, but they gave us a lot of fresh shrimp. The shrimps were marinated in lime juice and spices, tomato, red onion, cilantro, and then topped with avocado. It was also served with tostadas and Tapatio packets. They have small, medium, and large sizes. My daughters and I loved it so much. Quesadillas in the hidden menu ($11.75) - I ordered the Cheese Quesadillas for my younger daughter, and she liked the grilled cheese in a flour tortilla and served with a side of pico de gallo, signature salsa, guacamole, and our signature sauce. Got to the Nazo for the first time today and did not expect the line to snake through to Yoshinoya next door. No biggie, we just ordered doordash online (3000+ IQ play from my wife). Picked up our order in about 20 mins saving alot of time. The fish burrito I got was massive and amazing. I don't usually crave fish tacos, but their battered fish has definitely won this repeat customer. My wife got the 2 taco combo, came with loads of veggies, salsa, crema, chips, rice, and beans on the side. Not to mention, the combo came with a drink which we upgraded to the watermelon agua fresca (super refreshing and no signs of artificial taste). The batter was crispy just enough to give a good crunch while the fish was perfectly cooked to make it tender and flaky. The owners and their family members were always a pleasure to work with--they consistently maintained a positive attitude, greeted everyone with a smile, and created a welcoming and friendly work environment. The food is made fresh. I decided to leave the Walnut location due to concerns regarding management. I also shared similar experiences with another coworker, which contributed to my decision. In my experience, the supervisor, Amanda, was not the most pleasant to work under. During night shifts, the overall environment with her and some of the late-night staff did not feel particularly welcoming. As someone who understands both Spanish and English but chooses to primarily communicate in English, I value clear and respectful communication in the workplace. While I was learning the register, I viewed it as part of the natural learning process that comes with any new job, along with building relationships with coworkers. However, while shadowing Amanda, I experienced moments where she would make facial expressions in front of customers, which felt unprofessional and discouraging. Additionally, there were instances where mistakes--whether made by myself or others--were met with laughter from coworkers who were close with Amanda. This created an uncomfortable environment, especially for employees who were still learning. In conversations with another coworker, we both expressed that it felt difficult to communicate concerns with upper management, as Amanda was primarily overseeing the kitchen as a supervisor. On a positive note, the other supervisor was consistently kind, approachable, and willing to help. He demonstrated patience and understood that learning and improvement are key aspects of working in a restaurant environment. His approach reflected the importance of both teamwork and customer service, which are essential in the food industry. Overall, while many team members were friendly and supportive, there were also instances where certain behaviors and situations were overlooked that may not have been known to the owners or upper management. Working with the family was a great experience, and I will always remember what I learned there, including how to prepare drink refreshers. I would have stayed longer; however, I was caring for my grandmother who had stage 4 cancer and has since passed away. Before her passing, she encouraged me to do what makes me happy and not to stress, especially as I am close to completing my degree with only three classes remaining. This Taco Nazo location in Walnut was unsatisfactory to the highest degree. It used to be good but i don't know what has happened recently maybe new workers. I ordered an asada burrito with their signature salsa, crema, and all the toppings inside. What I got was basically a rice-and-bean burrito pretending to be an asada burrito. I cut it in half and there was barely any meat, no cilantro, no onion, no signature salsa, and no crema. Literally almost everything that was supposed to make the burrito worth ordering was missing. If I wanted a giant pile of beans and rice wrapped in a tortilla, I would've ordered that. Either this location is completely unorganized or they just don't care enough to follow an order correctly. Charging people for an asada burrito and barely putting any asada in it is ridiculous. The Taco Nazo in Tustin is way better. I've had a much better experience there. The Walnut location needs to get it together because this was a complete waste of money. read more

New favorite taco spot. They don't do Taco Tuesday deals like Los Amigos, but you can't beat their batter-fried shrimp tacos. All their tacos are great, but the camarones/shrimp? Those keep us coming back. Tried their secret menu grilled shrimp, which is seasoned like the chilis they include on the side. Pretty good, but a little salty. I still prefer their regular shrimp. The grilled shrimp tacos are more expensive too-- $6 vs their $4.25ish batter-fried shrimp ones. The al pastor is also great, since you can actually TASTE the pineapple, and it's not greasy. Their fish taco is actually the one I would rank lower than the others. There's a kind of greasy, older oil-flavor in the batter I think could taste cleaner, like their shrimp ones. The tacos overall are amazing, and have a clean, refreshing flavor to them that isn't heavy. Their horchata is also great--not too sweet, and the cinnamon is balanced. Their large is also legit LARGE. Though to be honest, I could easily chug one by myself. PS-- those chilis they include? So spicy, but not in a painful way. I ALWAYS get the 3 potato taco meal which are to die for. I love the toppings and the roasted chilis are a must. The beans and rice are reportedly made without lard and chicken broth, which I believe because I never get an upset stomach after eating here. They also added a new green salsa and it is delicious! They can get quite busy and you may have to wait for a table (inside is small) but it is worth the wait. The workers are polite and keep the place clean too. Saw it on KTLA 5 today Cinco de Mayo Taco Tuesday and right in our backyard across from Mt Sac. The parking could be a little challenging since there's a lot of eateries. Had the fish tacos carne asada chicken mixed ceviche 3 pack taco dorado everything was absolutely delicious.
