My new favorite Chinese place in Southpark! We did a takeout order amidst all the worldly chaos right now, so I can't speak to a dine-in experience. We ordered chicken fried rice, pan fried pork dumplings, & general tso's chicken. All of it was delicious! I will say that their general tso's chicken was the best I've ever had. The quality of food was great. It wasn't greasy. The sauces included were good. The portions were generous. Seriously no complaints other than they need a new fortune cookie company (over baked), but that's trivial. read more

Looked nice and was open on XMas day. Place was about 3/4 full, which isn't unusual on that day and I went in about 2 hours before they closed. Right up to the front and there wasn't a line. Asked if I could place a take out order (which they clearly did, I noted plastic bags and two couples leaving with dinner), and was flippantly told by the young male front person that "they weren't doing any more take out". Except the girl on the phone next to him was taking a takeout order. Don't want my money? Fine, but don't be a hypocrite about it. I'm sure the food is lovely, but if you don't give me a chance to judge, then welcome to the internet. BTW, Koshi about 2 miles away served me with no problem and it was great. Amazing Chinese, even during the pandemic. The Beijing duck is my favorite with the pancakes not the bun. Also the chilled cucumbers are a perfect addition. I just went here for my birthday. It was absolutely fantastic. The service was ridiculously amazing. We had a small private room in the back at a circular table. Our drinks and food came out so quickly. They let us bring cake and have us utensils to serve the cake. Food was so good as well as the drinks. Servings were huge. Check this place out. Plus parking in south park is nice. Had lots of appetizers. Lettuce wraps were delightful. They seemed really happy to have us there. Will be back. read more

Some very solid Chinese food, but definitely a little more pricey than most. Otherwise, 5 stars. I have no clue why it took me so long to check this place out. I love Chinese food, the more authentic the better. Anyhow, I finally made it for a quick lunch. $10 lunch specials are about twice the price as most places, but still not that bad of a deal. Especially when you factor in the quality. I nibbled off of everyone's dishes at the table. General Tso's, Hunan Chicken, Hibachi trio, Szechuan chicken, etc.... All pretty solid. Finally we found a real Chinese restaurant in Charlotte... or pretty close to the real thing. The service is absolutely fantastic and the prices are pretty decent for the amount of food you get. The Peking Duck is phenomenal! Huge! Can be shared for sure! The noodles are pretty large for sharing as well. We ordered 3 dishes for 2 adults and 2 kids and was more than enough. Look no further! My expectations for this place were high. But I should have just walked in with the assumption that it is just like any other Chinese food carryout but with a more fancy front. The customer service here is impeccable. A++++ for sure. They are very kind and courteous here. Wh Basil Rolls: I paid $6 for two rolls. Highly disappointed. 1/5. It was literally a little rice noodle, lettuce and basil. OVERPRICED and no flavor. Crab Wonton: I mean it is cream cheese with imitation crab in a wonton wrapper. Same as you get any other Chinese place. It is hard to mess these up. 4/5 Shrimp Steamer: It was okay. I wanted a healthy option so I did forgo the sauce that they give you on the side. Tons of veggies, not so much shrimp. There were approximately 6 pieces of shrimp. For the price I paid - my expectations were that I would get more that. 3/5 Shrimp Chow Fun: This was definitely the best dish of all but Chow fun is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. The wide rice noodles with a sweet soy base. So simple and delicious. 5/5 Overall the food for me differs none than other small delivery/carry out Chinese food place. I got takeout here and it was great. I tried the Chicken Wonton Soup and it was nice that it had actual chicken wontons in it. I do hope that they increase the portion size of the soup since it's very small. I enjoyed the fried rice here - although why they don't serve their woks with fried rice is beyond me. I came here because Jersey Mike's closed at 9 but I'm glad I did!! Upon entering the restaurant the decor and lighting puts me in a mellow mood and the host was very nice. She assisted me right away and pulled out a seat at the bar while I reviewed the menu. She wasn't far away and actually went over the menu with me. She offered me water and I accepted. The food didn't take long and while I waited the manager came out to speak and we engaged in light conversation. I ordered the chow goon which was delish!!! I also ordered vegetable fried rice for my friend which he didn't enjoy as much (no seasoning) and actually ate half of my entree, exclaiming how jealous he was. I tasted it and he was not lying. But, I will definitely be back and the only reason this place didn't get five stars is only because of my guests underwhelming experience with his entree. read more

I came to this place on an early Sunday afternoon and it was packed already!!! Good sign! I was happy to see they have vegetable egg rolls on the menu...NOT spring rolls...I can't stand when people don't understand the difference. I ordered my standard lo mein and it was a huge portion size, that I mostly finished! Lol. I LOVE noodles. It had a good flavor and I was pleased with it. Yum! Another bookmark checked off the list! I met a friend for lunch and this place was packed before noon! That's always a good sign. We were seated and greeted right away. See what I did there? :) I ordered the lunch special hibachi with comes with chicken, shrimp and beef, a side of veggies and your choice of egg roll or spring roll. I chose the veggie egg roll but they brought the spring roll in error. I was already digging in and didn't notice but our waitress brought out the correct roll. So I can honestly say, both were delicious! My hibachi was delicious too! The meat is full of flavor and the spice was just right! Not to mention, the portion is enough for two meals! Best chinese in Charlotte. After a recommendation from a friend, my fiancé and I tried Baoding. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and was quickly greeted and seated. We ordered won ton soup, steamed dumplings, lo mein, tangerine shrimp, and pineapple fried rice (we were hungry). All the dishes were incredibly delicious and fresh. On top of it, the service was wonderful. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Since our first visit, we have ordered Baoding at least three times a month! Highly recommend! P.S. If I could I would have given this place 3.5 stars. A good place to grab some Chinese food. Went on a Tuesday evening and there weren't that many people there. We had the Beijing duck which is rare to find in restaurants in Charlotte nowadays. We also requested to have both the buns and moo shoo wraps. Not the best I've had but decent enough for me to go back for more. The portion was enough for two people to finish but we both weren't super hungry. My friend and I also got the virgin pina colada which was ok. A bit on the icee side but the flavor was good. I can't speak for the other dishes they have since I've never gotten them but I would come back from time to time if I'm craving Chinese food that isn't fast food. I have nothing but good things to say. The Garlic Chicken was delicious. The chicken dumplings were delicious, especially with the dumpling sauce. Their drink menu had mixed drinks, beers, wines, and probably more stuff I missed. The staff was VERY professional and our server, a middle aged gentleman, was SO polite and we truly enjoyed his conversation, very genuine. The restaurant was clean and socially distanced. Staff had on masks. My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary and he surprised me with a trip to Charlotte. We happened upon this place and decided to give it a try. I have been going to Baoding for over 20 years and never had a bad experience until tonight. Worst service ever! The waitress with the ponytail slapped down our menus and demanded our drink order immediately. It was obvious that they were extremely busy so my friend and I were understanding. After our drinks came a busboy brought out our dinners. We told him we had ordered an appetizer which the waitress forgot. Meantime we started our dinners only to realize that we had been given the wrong ones. They never asked who had what! No one came to check on us or refill our waters during our meal. At the end I asked for boxes when the waitress finally came back. She brought some but we needed one more. After asking three times for another one the waitress took one away and brought out a smaller one! Interesting that she was very nice and chatty with the other customers but treated us rudely. Sadly this dinner was quite disappointing and unlike the wonderful lunch experiences. The hibatchi trio was dry, tough and flavorless. The seafood tofu pot was great and I wish I would have chosen that instead until I realized 1/3 of the mussels didn't open and were bad. Very clean restaurant, efficient hostesses, and plenty of parking. I ordered the following takeout: thai curry, szechuan trio, crab rangoons, lo mein noodles, and orange chicken with white rice. Everything was made to order and portions/quality/flavor justify the double digit entrees. I've been to this restaurant before, but this is probably the most I've enjoyed every bite! In my honest opinion, I would rather come here for any type of asian dish because the master chefs in the back know how to balance the right amount of spice and flavor.
