Yes. Just yes. If you're debating getting food from here, just do it. Everything, and I mean everything, is delicious, flavorful and light. The ingredients shine, the spices kick and you want to come back bite after bite. The chili crisp is not for the weak, but man is it so delicious!

Sweet Pork Belly Dumplings and Garlic Green Beans (Sichuan Dish)

I ordered takeout and this place was great! They only took like 4 minutes to have my food ready and packaged up. It's a smaller restaurant and I would definitely say it's more of a place I would want to do takeout rather than dine just based on my personal preference. I got the sweet pork belly dumplings and the garlic green beans. Both were so good and a perfect amount of food for 2 meals for me. It also came with a free side of rice which was a nice surprise and the flavor on everything was very good!

Ohhhh how I love her Sweet Pork Belly dumplings. They have the most delectable and delicate thin wrappers with copious amount of meat that is moist and packed with flavor. Each bite is an explosion of chilling oil, onion, and five spice which plays well with the sweet pork belly. Its cute and cooked so its not greasy or crispy but succulently moist. I also order the classic Dan Dan which isn't too spicey but has a nice kick. I came during dinner and received these huge portions. I typically get the lunch portion which is more than enough to satiate my hunger. I forgot how l massive the regular portions are. I had some left for lunch the next day. Its great to share too.

The owners of The Dumpling Lady are actually Asian so I was excited to try some authentic food! The server /manager inside was so nice and helpful with all of my questions. It's great to actually get some authentic street food in Charlotte! Loved the scallion pancakes and the leek pork belly. Really enjoyed my meal! Be aware of the spice levels! Excited to be back to try more items on the menu!

I ordered to go while at Hi-Wire across the street. I ordered Shrimp & Chicken dumplings, Pork & Chives dumplings and smashed cucumbers. Everything I ate was so tasty. However, I did not taste any shrimp in the dumplings so I suspect they packed me chicken dumplings. I ordered online and my food was ready on time. If you've never been to The Dumpling Lady it might be hard to miss.

This location offers a lot of the same items the main location offers. What I like is that they don't put the chili oil on top of the dumplings but offer it on the side. Everything was tasty. My favorite items were the Cumin Beef Noodles and the Fried Rice. The Cumin Beef Noodle had some spicy flavor but it wasn't too spicy. The noodles are thick and absorb all the flavor from the cumin sauce. The fried rice is light and airy. It was mild and was a delight to cool the palette. This location is small. There aren't many tables and it's not good for large groups. We only had 4 in our party and it was hard to eat family style with the available seats. Some guest left and we were able to move and make it easier to share the dishes. Customer service was phenomenal and the small group of employees were mighty. Had delivery to my hotel tonight from the dumpling lady. I have to say it I was very tasty. Although a bit on the oily side. I had the thin sliced pork belly with leeks. Loads of flavor. I bet this dish hot and fresh straight from kitchen would have been amazing. Also had scallion pancake. Really greasy but had great chew. Definitely a solid 4 stars.

If you're on a long haul drive, let's say from New York down to Alabama and happen to stop in Charlotte and perhaps you stayed at the hotel near the airport, you should definitely order from here. I would say this is homestyle as dumplings get. I got the pan fried style with the Sichuan oil, the fried rice and then the obligatory tea. I did also pick up a mason jar of chili oil because I just needed some spice for the month and a half I was going to be spending in school. This will remind me of some of the dumplings I've had in Chinatown in New York City, even with the delivery, the edges were crispy as you can see in the pictures and the fried rice had chopped green beans in it. That was still fresh and had a good crunch. Portions are just right, I didn't feel uncomfortable after throwing down the dumplings & the rice. It wasn't oily or super greasy.

Wonderful service from the time I walked in. The shrimp and chicken dumplings w/ a side of rice is my favorite!! Dumplings so soft and pillowy it makes me want to eat the entire bowl but it's so much food!!

Now that I've been here a few times I'd like to update my review. Still awesome! Key word: Consistent. Every visit the staff are friendly, helpful and patient. The food is crazy good (cumin beef this time). 5 or so visits now and I'm all in on this place! PS The grocery items are definitely a must see.

Day 1 of opening and I was customer #3! If you've been to TDL before, expect the same. Yummy food, nice people! For day 1, they had it mostly down. There was a wait for food but that is expected as they work out their kinks. Have a few new dishes on the menu that I tried. SOOOO excited they are here in southend. What a great addition and so happy they FINALLY opened!!! Cant wait to come here every week for lunch. Overall: 4.7/5 - met my expectations for TDL. Great job team! Cant wait to eat here in the future. Delicious food. Food: 4.8/5 - got the lunch combo. Pork belly and leeks noodles and pork belly and chives noodles. The noodles were a new dish, so good!! A more modern chinese place with bomb food. Flavor profile hits the spot. Expect spicy though! Service: 4.5/5 - they just opened and I was probably their 3rd customer. Nothing to complain about! Nice people. Would be great if in the future once they settle in, to give recommendations to customers on their new dishes and newish menu. Vibes: 4.5/5 - great spot for a quick, casual lunch. Clean on the inside! Other: street parking parallel or parking inside the apartment garage when you first enter

I wouldn't recommend visiting here an hour prior to close. You will be offered a limited menu. I can only assume that they are going all in with COVID service. Even though everyone around them is offering full menus until closing, Dumpling Lady is paying homage to the past by saying no to more money. I'm not sure what the long-term goal here is other than closing an hour earlier in the future. Perhaps the end game is the close the restaurant permanently. They sure have the correct model to make that an inevitability. Good luck...

Great dumplings and soup buns. The unsung star is the Garlic Green Beans! Amazing! I could probably eat a double order easily.

With me describing the taste, texture, presentation, it does not do it any justice. Need to go and taste it for yourself, you will thank me later. We got there and there were no tables available yet so we sat at the bar and when one was available we got moved over and then our wonderful dinner experience began. The soup was good, but warm (not hot). After that, the experience went straight downhill. Firstly, the chicken was saturated with a honey-sugar glaze that was thick and slimy. It made the chicken uneatable. The broccoli was cold, as if chilled in the refridgerator before being served. Nobody like broccoli cold as ice. Lastly, we had ordered the fried rice. It was nothing like other photos from past reviews. It looked like plain white rice with a fried egg mixed in. It was bland and tasteless. Service was impersonal and lacked any eye contact. In fact, when the server was handing me the bill, she was literally looking across the room while aimlessly reaching out her arm with the bill. The food is sub-standard and is not like it once was. Needless to say, we will not go back.

Kind of reminded me of the texture of spanakopita in a bun. They were generously filled and delicious. Yangzhou fried rice had a mix of scallops, shrimp, chicken and veggies. Portion was huge, husband could barely finish it. I ordered spicy wonton in chili oil, and mini spare ribs in black bean sauce dim sum. Loved them both. Seasonings and spice level were perfect. I'd order those again. We also got a selection of dumplings - pork and veggie shumai, steamed potstickers, and crystal shrimp dumplings. Loved all of them. I love the relaxed vibe here. Our server was attentive, professional and gave us space to enjoy our meal with minimum interruptions. We were greeted when we arrived and she waved goodbye when we left. While dining, I saw quite a number of takeout orders picked up by customers and dashers, which is something we'll definitely do in the future. The dining area and bar are in one big room with huge windows that make the space feel spacious and light. Even tho it's one big room, tables aren't crammed together. Music is low enough to talk at normal volume. We really enjoyed our first time here, plan to eat here again and highly recommend it if you haven't been.

We tried multiple dishes, my wife tried a won ton and chili oil and the dough was absolutely murdered. It was just falling apart soft and there was no texture and really there was barely any filling. It's a hard pass on those considering this is a dim sum place. My chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce was really tasty, but the proportions were off, way too much broccoli and not enough chicken. Also, it did not come with rice. You had to order that extra which I think is a little sad. My wife had a noodle dish with shrimp and she said it was excellent. Overall, we're definitely gonna give them another try, but not anytime soon. They have potential, but need to polish things. On the way out, my wife did get a bubble tea and she thought that it was really good! To those about to nosh, we salute you!
