I've been here a feee times and the food has consistently been good. You order from a tablet then seat yourself and they bring the food to you. I'm so glad they decided to open a spot this close to me!

Bao Button is a great option in port Richmond if you are looking for rice and noodle dishes. Conveniently located right near i95. This is a great to go option we our food to go and it help up well. The food was delicious and you got a generous portion of the dish. Prices are pretty reasonable as well. Definitely a spot I will be frequenting for dinner or lunch in the area.

Bao Button was really yummy! We ordered takoyaki, spam musubi, gyoza, and pork bao. We ordered on the tablets at the front and had a seat. They also did table service but we didn't realize this until after we ordered on the tablets. I thought the takoyaki was pretty good and had a lot of octopus. My partner liked the spam musubi but thought there was a little bit too much sauce. The pork bao was really good and the inside was nice and sweet. The gyoza was our favorite. It had 3 of each flavor. The ginger soy was really great that we got with it. Overall it was pretty good but a little pricey. I thought the quality was really good so that makes sense but I wish it was more of like a formal, sit down restaurant. It was really casual.

Hubby found Bao Button on Instagram and wants to try it out. Those IG photos looks very interesting. The dine in concept is definitely different than most. They have self ordering kiosk at the front whether you pay with cash or card. But if you decide to sit down and order, then that's card only because you have to order from scanning their QR code. One of the kitchen staff will then bring your order out to your table. And there is another staff taking plates too. We order Roast Pork Bao, Philly Cheesesteak Gyoza, Pork Bun, Spicy Miso Ramen, and Yaki Udon. Bao Button doesn't make orders as appetizers first then entrees. It is whatever done first, it would be served to the customers. We started with Roast Pork Bun, it is pink, similar to the Charsiu Bao at dim sum but slightly saltier. The Spicy Miso Ramen taste like a dressed up Shin Ramen in a bowl lol. Hubby says the Yaki Udon is okay, nothing special. And the cheesesteak gyoza were mediocre. It was flavorless even with the spicy mayo added. Pork Bun is good, definitely the highlight of our meal. Drinks were $4.50 each, our total was $75. I don't think our meal is worth $75. Make sure you go during Summer months. Or if you go in the winter months, you will need a coat to eat in.

While visiting Philadelphia, I had my fill of sandwiches, so I wanted some Asian food. I saw this spot near where I was staying and stopped by for lunch on a weekday. If you're dining in, you just seat yourself, scan the QR code on the table, and order and pay on the website. You can order both food and boba drinks from the site. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't busy when we got in around 2pm. I made my own ramen with spicy miso broth, shrimp tempura, ajitama egg, bamboo, corn, chili oil, and seaweed. The broth and egg had good flavor, the shrimp tempura was nice and crispy, but my egg noodles were so gummy, I don't know what happened. My boyfriend made his own ramen with tonkatsu broth, and his noodles were the same. We were so sad. The philly cheesesteak dumplings had a nice crispy bottom, but the filling tasted like a cheeseburger, and my bf thought it tasted like a taco. The filling felt too soft, I don't know if they used ground beef. My bf also got a Thai tea with boba. Unfortunately, the tea felt very watery, and the boba was flavorless. The interior was clean and modern, but the food was disappointing.

Built your own Ramen. Amazing Tonkatsu broth!!! Noodles perfect & cabbage crunchy. Pork was tender & tasty. The staff was friendly.Highly recommend this little place.

Sends dry gyoza to you with zero soy sauce. Unedible food I spent $24 on and waited 40 minutes for. You have ONE JOB. How hard is it?

This review pains me to write. I have been twice now. The first night I visited. We had a few in our party and we ordered a collection of things and we sat ourselves. The restaurant looked lightly busy. Not all the tables were full. We waited a good 30 minutes for the first dish to come out. The names on the board mean nothing. The dumplings were really good. The dumplings in spicy soy sauce were soooo good. The food took longer than an hour to fully come. We ended up cancelling part of our order. The location is alright. The inside is cute. The second time I came back because I refused to believe that Ninja Bao could let me down like this, the food was good yet again, but it took so long. There was one other table in the spot full. I had to remind the wait staff of the things I had ordered. The folks are really nice. They are really helpful. The inside is cute, but honestly all the positives get a little outweighed by the negatives. I will come here again. I will order again. I refuse to give up.

literally best vegetarian / vegan sushi in the city…read more okay to start, if your friend/date/family member is vegetarian or vegan, take them here. you both will have options. inside is cozy. service is really thorough and like a well oiled machine. for the vegetarians: The lime sinko roll is a classic avocado cucumber roll with a pickled vegetable layer on top and a thin slice of lime. the roll itself is great, simple, and a classic. my sister really likes the pickled vegetable and lime on top. I however, just peel it off. it's good but I prefer without it. the veggie on fire is what you need: probably their best roll on the menu. it's a cucumber avocado roll with a spicy zucchini sauce on top and crispy fried onions. it's messy. it's spicy. it's delicious. the sauce is orange in color, has tiny slivers of zucchini in it. I was hesitant to try it at first, but it's my favorite roll now. the vegan tuna roll: it's marinated tomato in place of tuna. i've never had fish or tuna, but it definitely tastes a lot more fishy. I guess that's the marinade. texture is kinda slimy? mushy? I feel like this might be the roll for someone who liked the taste of fish but went vegan and wants a replica. Not for me, but well made nonetheless. Appetizers The veggie gyoza: the gyoza itself is green, doesn't taste different to a non green dough, but visually that might matter to some people. sauce they serve on the side is very good. comes with a lot, at least 6 I think. tastes good. I don't recall any mushrooms in it and if there is they are not noticeable as i'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms. The Spring rolls: new to the menu, no meat, interesting? they are more soft inside than expected. not a lot of veggies. tiny. cute little app to share and try. they come with two. no mushrooms. I typically prefer a more veggie heavy and crispy spring roll but i'd order them again! Samosa: currently off the menu I think, but in case they add it back, this was very good. i'd order this over the spring rolls. they were crispier and I think it came with three. Miso Soup: it's a fine little bowl of miso. I typically always order miso at every Japanese restaurant to start my meal. i'm not picky about miso, but I will say, it's not my favorite miso. I still order it every time, just not the absolute best i've had. It has small little tofu chunks and some green leafs which I find are in most misos but I have no idea what they are. small little bowl. perfect to order first. edamame: very good I always order in the beginning and I have a bad habit of also ordering another for dessert. the veggie bun: I don't like mushrooms, but if you do you will love this. my sister loves it. it's not often there is a vegetarian option for a bun, so i'd get it. the sauce on it is very good. comes with two. Karaage: This is chicken, but my dad gets it and it looks very good and crispy. if I ate meat i'd order this. avocado salad: okay so the ginger dressing is a little different than typical ginger dressing which I like. it's unique and very good. the amount of avocado is amazing! it has to be a whole avocado. always fresh. the green leafs are a little big, so this can get messy fast if you're on a date and trying to be demure. this is a must order for three people in my family. every time we go it's three orders clock work. I tried sharing with my sister and we determined we cannot share this. honestly bigger than I expected and more filling than I expected. has some cut up tomato's and cucumbers inside as well. mochi: must get. one order is one mochi cut in half. so two people could share one mochi order. i'm team chocolate, but I heard strawberry is good. I think I tried all of their flavors but honestly can't remember them. I'll update as I try more of the vegetarian/vegan rolls

The toro was also a standout, although how can you go wrong with toro, uni, and caviar? The wagyu dog itself was great, but the roll it was on was dry. In my opinion, the bread makes or breaks a sandwich, so points off for that one. The ambiance was cozy, if a little dark at times. I also thought it would be great if they asked about your taste, favorite cocktail, etc to truly customize the drink. While there isn't a formal coat check, there are designated racks where you can store clothing and belongings. The restaurant shares a space with Almanac, its upstairs cocktail bar. Despite being catered as a social atmosphere, I never felt that its presence (or playlist) disrupted my dining experience. There's service staff moving about the stairwell behind the Ogawa counter, but I felt you can still clearly hear and immerse yourself with the chefs during the meal. I visited with my partner for their Midweek Omakase Experience, which provides an abridged four set, 16-course meal perfect for a date night. This particularly stood out to me, since it's a $250-per couple offering that makes it more affordable and welcoming for veteran diners or first-time omakase enjoyers. The Food Breakdown: First Set (4.5/5) - The appetizer dishes were a great start to our meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the selections of cuts with the pickles on the second plate. The scallop was also seasoned incredibly well, and the brush of soy helped elevate each bite. Second Set (5/5) - Flavors from the chawanmushi helped warm the palette, especially with the chutoro of the bluefin tuna presented in this course. I felt that this set had the greater diversity of textures between bites, which made savoring it more worthwhile. Third Set (4/5) - Miso soup was a great start before we were served delicious otoro cuts of fish. The portion sizes were also excellent, and Chef Andy did a fantastic job describing each bite in full detail. My only note was that I felt the handroll sizes were very slightly inconsistent in their filling. Fourth Set (5/5) - All of the desserts were delicious and light, which made for an excellent closer to the meal. While traditionally omakase ends with a tamago-style dessert, we were also provided a vanilla ice cream and homemade chocolate to round out our experience. Chef Andy was welcoming, knowledgeable at every step of our meal, and demonstrated a clear passion in his preparation of each bite. It was a great and affordable experience for an omakase!
