We visited on the Sunday 25 Jan. We drove up and parked A very nice woman walking to her car to leave seen we were visiting with my disabled husband. She immediately said" let me help" and she did. Her name is Shara. She escorted us in and then made sure we had adequate seating to accommodate our needs. Later during our lunch I was told she was an employee on her way home, the end of her shift. Wow, how considerate was Shara to take her time and help us. Thank you Shara.. We also had the most delightful hostess, Heather. She also was so considerate of my husband. The food has always been very good, mainly breakfast however we didn't eat here today the vibe is gruff and not for the faint of heart it's a bar but they do have a restaurant, if you want to get away from the trucker bar theme. I would return fo sho! I must add today it stunk like sewage "sumpins up" no pun intended but that's uncommon for this place. The service is what you make of it! Dinner is always great Every time we stop by Banta inn (which is mostly on Fridays so we can enjoy the clam chowder since it's the daily special and is so good!) Parking is never a problem and we always get our choice of seating right away! We love to have Tiffany as our server since she is such a superstar waitress, so lovely and always personable and accommodating. We've been there when she's been the only server in the whole place taking care of everyone in the joint as well as when it was pretty dead and we were the only ones there and she consistently provides stellar service! The food is so flavorful and tastes like home cooking! We love getting some of our favorite things every-time as well as mixing it up and adding in things we haven't tried yet and the food always tastes wonderful. read more

Hubby and I wanted to come in to see this historical place and have a small bite to eat. Our server was very welcoming and friendly. It was a little busy so there was a short wait no problem. We were able to walk around and look at everything. Just wish I was able to look at a binder they like to pass around tables with lots of history. We ordered a personal pizza and garlic fries. Randomly found it looking for a place to meet my friend from Sacramento for lunch (I came from Livermore) it felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere! We loved the historical significance --1879, I think, of the place and the inside back room felt so old-fashioned and homey. I came in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and there were several empty tables and three tables had customers. The first waitress never once acknowledged me. After about 5 minutes of sitting there, the other tables slowly started filling up. I was the only person sitting alone, all other tables that came in after me had four people. Another waitress came in and said that everyone would be taken care of. I had been sitting there for fifteen minutes now. The two waitresses started with the tables of four. It was as if I was invisible because I was sitting alone. No one ever once acknowledged me. So I left and won't be back. I also played Bingo there and will not return for that either. Beyond disappointed in this place, I don't know if they don't pay their employees enough so therefore they just really don't care. Really wanted this local restaurant to be good so I put in an order for a BLT and a soup through DoorDash. Got a call from DoorDash that said when they got there, they were told someone else picked it up. When the door dash inquired because I got to hear the conversation the woman on the other end was very dismissive and actually didn't admit what happened. She had given the order to the wrong person. To add insult to injury, they refused to make another order so therefore I was left without the order and having to refute my charges for DoorDash. She could've said oops I didn't look well enough when they showed it to me and I gave it to the wrong person And of course because I'm in business and that's the cost of doing business I will make restitution for my mistake. Everyone makes mistakes just own up and make it right, but don't have attitude about it. Either invest in training your people or get better people. When I look closer and see that they had two health violations I'm good to go. Too bad because I really would like to see something in the Banta area do well. read more

We have been going to the banta inn for years, the last 6 months it has been the worst. We went there tonight, first we were told we couldn't have martinis because they didn't have any olives. So we ordered wine instead. We asked for two waters never received them to the very end of our meal. The lady that I was with ordered a patty melt, the waitress ordered a BLT instead, the rest of us had already finished our meal still no patty melt finally she comes out with it. Well, of course we didn't want it then we were all done eating. The worst customer service, we had to ask for silverware. It seems they were more concerned with their bingo people than with the customers in the restaurant ordering food. Very unorganized no one had a specific duty that they were doing .We won't be coming back there. Very disappointed. read more

Nice little bar here in Tracy, the staff are really friendly and they have some fun entertainment some evenings, Thursday's are lingerie night where they sell raffle tickets for various prizes. This bar is also quite famous and said to be haunted, it's been on numerous TV shows over the years. There is also a small restaurant attached to the bar where they serve from Breakfast through till Dinner. If I was to be completely honest though I wouldn't recommend the breakfasts as I was fairly let down with mine recently, the Egg's were under cooked and my Muffin was hard. They also ran out of Pancakes. The Burgers however are really good. my Husband likes the #5 with an added fried Egg and I have to agree it's a winner, the Fries are also really good. Returned to the Banta Inn last Sunday for some adult time and conversation with the wife and her cousin. After 10 Patron Silver shots, 4 Heine's (for me) and a sampler plater of mushrooms, zucchini, chicken stripes & curly fries, the bills total came in for a few cents over $100 bucks. The food is good, but the waitress Shannon, let's just say we won't be going back anytime soon, if at all. She was very rude and we heard a few cuss words. A party of 6 who came in well after we did (we were a party of 2) got their drinks and order taken before we even got our menus. The one (only one) coffee refill Shannon provided was poured so fast it splashed over and burned my fingers. When we finally got our order, she asked if we needed anything else, and my friend said ketchup and I said Tabasco; my friend got the ketchup, I never got the Tabasco. It's so sad, my husband and I used to be 'regulars' at The Banta Inn for Sunday breakfast and I thought that maybe we could make it our go-to again.
