I've suffered from knee/foot/hip pain since I was 16, so going on 8 years now (or what would have…read morebeen without AZSPT). I played basketball and softball throughout high school and left with my fair share of improper technique and the resulting aches/pains that come along with. No doctors or accompanying tests could provide a definitive answer as to what was wrong with me (6 doctors). The only suggestions I received were rest and/or surgery, which seemed ridiculous for my age and well.. the fact that they didn't actually know what was wrong with me. While training to run my first half marathon, I was tired of the pain that seemed to make no sense as a young, healthy, fit, and active person. I went to another doctor who, finally, suggested something I could do about my pain, physical therapy. On my first day of therapy, I had to swallow my pride, drop the weight and get back to basics. It is as much a mental therapy as it is physical for those of us who just want to lift heavy, compete and walk away completely exhausted. Now that's not everyone's cup of tea, but the point is, we ALL fail on basic mechanics and that's why you need Andrea and her team. Come here to get the tools you need to incorporate into your life. She is not a miracle worker, she will not heal you. If you aren't willing to change your life and understand YOU have to change your most basic movements, you won't have a good time. Thank you, Andrea + team for educating me, so I can now sit down, walk up stairs, jump, lift heavy and run pain-free. I'll never leave!

I first hobbled in to therapy in 2012 after a severe compound fracture of the left tibia and 6 other bones in my left leg. Andrea and her staff have been there for my recovery every step of the way. Andrea has seen my recovery though three surgeries and to this day still continues with treatment. Andrea is absolutely amazing at finding ways to motivate you and push you through the hurdles of recovery. Mostly your own mind. Her knowledge, strength and commitment are second to none. Not only will I continue therapy at Arizona Sports but I would, and have, recommended them to any and all. Sincerely, Jason Foss Aka "Frankin Ankle"

I only wish I had done this first as it would have saved me months of headache trying to do things the way the front desk personnel instructed me (to contact the billing dept). As I told Aubrey (who was delightful), I will give it another go should I need physical therapy in the future, but I will monitor the claims closely instead of trusting the staff as I did the first time. Original review--- The care I was given by my Physical Therapist and staff was great. The fact that they over billed me for $172 and change and I am 3 months later still begging them to send me a check is ridiculous. I brought the error to their attention the end of Nov. and I have made at least 6 calls to the billing dept and each time I am given confirmation that they owe me the money but there is some excuse for why they can't/haven't issued a check for it. The customer (no) service rep I last spoke to yelled at me for complaining about the problem and told me I was yelling and then disconnected my call. The medical staff was great the accounting and business side is a disaster so beware of being over charged and not getting your money back!

I liked the interaction with the coaches and the combine staff throughout the morning as they did a good job communicating with everyone as well as engaging the athletes. They did a really good job of explaining what the expectations were, how they will get measured. "World Class" so expected nothing less. If you live on this side of town, I would recommend as an option to consider to next the athlete to the next level. Lots of professionals uses facility not only here in Arizona but other athletes around the country & the facility grounds have a lot of equipment to accommodate all types of training and conditioning.

It is expensive, yes, but worth every penny. Their approach is completely integrated - they will oversee nutrition, training, psychology, and recovery in a world class facility. They are extremely scientific and very cutting edge; their staff also contributes significantly to the research community. I was fortunate enough to live in the Phoenix are for 9 months and cannot speak well enough of their staff or their programs. You'll come to improve yourself and will end up drinking the kool aid! Once you get in the swing of things it's hard to get enough of this place, and I shockingly found myself actually looking forward to arriving there before sunrise 6 days a week (ok, a bit later on Saturdays). My physical condition and overall health improved at a breakneck pace and I had a blast doing it! If you're motivated and fortunate enough to train at AP here are a few tips: Chris Brown makes the world's tastiest post-workout shake, the nutritionist Simin Levinson is a wonderful person and an excellent cook, so take her advice on kitchen matters, and if you can get your massages done by Eric Ford, do so - it will hurt but the man is a truly gifted healer. I just cannot gush enough about this place. It is worth saving up for either for yourself or for your athletic kids!

After a lot of negative experiences with medical offices, Spooner was a huge breath of fresh air! Literally every person on the team from the front desk to the therapists themselves are friendly and helpful. I worked with PT Julia and tech Chris, and they were both phenomenal - true experts in what they do. I also met with PT Alix a few times, and she's equally amazing. I went in afraid I was going to spend a lot of time and money only to be told I needed surgery. Instead I walked out three months later with a shoulder that is almost entirely healed, and an easy-to-follow program to do at home. I still can't get over what a pleasant experience this was from start to finish. They have truly set the bar for all other providers I see in the future. A few things that set Spooner apart from other medical offices I've been to: 1. They offer a free consultation. If you're not sure physical therapy can help you, go in for a consultation! You'll get an honest answer. 2. They did not pressure me to schedule excessive or unnecessary appointments. I went in thinking I'd need to go 2-3 times a week and was pleasantly surprised that they recommended once a week, and then eventually every two weeks. 3. The billing is transparent and honest. My insurance wouldn't give them a price ahead of time, so Spooner had me pay an estimate based on what other clients with my insurance paid. When my claims were processed and their estimate was slightly higher than my contracted rate, they immediately applied all of the credit from my overpayments. I didn't even have to ask for it - I just walked into my appointment, greeted by the pleasant news that I didn't need to pay that day because I had credit on my account! 4. There were never any surprise charges or codes added on to my appointment. When Julia suggested we try dry needling (highly recommend btw), she made it clear there was no additional fee, and that was accurate information. 5. I feel very set up for success doing exercises at home. They have a really helpful app with my personalized program in it that includes videos of how to do the exercises, and they also gave me printed versions as well. (If you want physical therapy to be successful, you MUST do the exercises at home!) I could go on and on about how great Julia and the Spooner team are. I really can't recommend this practice highly enough.

The staff is friendly and upbeat and I felt comfortable from the moment I first walked in. The desk crew is very accommodating, even after I've had to cancel and rearrange appointment schedules more than once. I have exercises to do at home and the assistants monitoring my program are helpful and encouraging while trained to insist on "just two more". Julie has provided me with great suggestions, information and treatment suggestions. They are the best!
