I was hoping for better. Initially Rick seemed good. The quote was about the lowest and he promised a 6 month guarantee. 2 weeks after first visit we had more evidence of mice. It took another week of continually leaving messages until I got him on the phone. I was told they had a phone issue and a driver would come out the next day. The driver was out for less than 2 min set two traps and left. The traps were simple fordable glue traps. I still have a mouse. Still get no answer when I leave a message. We had a serious infestation of bed bugs centered in one of our bedrooms. Richard came in and patiently explained what should be done. Banner Pest Control was highly recommended to me by a good friend. She said she was very happy with this company and its owner Rick. I took her advice and I am glad I did. The owner, Rick, took my call and explained the whole process to me. He asked a few questions about my home and gave ne a reasonable estimate and we set up an appointment for the treatment in a few days. He was very prompt, polite and again explained the process and got right to work. Right away we notice a that our pest problem had gone away. The great news is Rick will be back in a couple of weeks to check on our progress and see if he needs to treat again even if there is one bug found. He also gives a 6 month guarantee. Banner Pest treated our home for a tough moth problem. Moths can be highly destructive and quickly invasive. Rick said that he can cure our moth problem and he did but will be coming back in a couple of weeks to recheck the job and honor the guarantee if necessary. UPDATE: Rick reached out literally minutes after posting the last review. He apologized for his lack of response and we discussed his poor communication further. Since then, he has come back to finish the job, was early, and followed up with me about the progress. Unfortunately, I'm not totally convinced ALL the roaches/mice have been eliminated, but Rick has promised that he will uphold his gaurantee to complete the job regardless of how many visits it takes. Ultimately, I think he is a genuine person, he knows what he's talking about but simply has to work on communicating better with his clients. We would probably use him again, definitely not for something urgent, but most likely if we wanted to continue maintenance of whats already been completed. read more

I paid for 8-month warranty of Rick's service.The woodpecker came back again in the same areas in less than 6 months. I have been contracting him via emails to have him come back again for a month now. Every time he would respond saying he would come in a week. But he never kept his promise. I still haven't seen him to come back to fix the problem. If you are looking for a pest control service that values the warranty, stay away from this one! Rick, the owner contacted me after I posted my review and gave me an appointment for coming over to finish the work. He was unable to come for a few times but he did notify me beforehand to reschedule. Finally he was able to come on 5/28 to patch the remaining areas and treated one area he missed for the first visit.The area was not painted as what he said he was going to do. But since the woodpeckers so far haven't come back, I would say I am good with the service done so far. I might give this company another try if I ever need the service again. Rick has been to my house two years in a row, last year for ants and bees, this year for some tiny little bugs. On both occasions he was prompt, informative and friendly. After they became aware of our complaints, they did their best to rectify the situation. Still a bit dissatisfied with the way their scheduling was run in that it took them so long to schedule something when I had been calling and leaving messages for a week and had a substantial infestation that they had previously failed to take care of. Ultimately I wish they were responsive before I had to write a negative yelp review. Following it's publication, however, the owner gave us his personal cell phone which was a very nice touch, scheduled us last minute, and has been nothing but helpful ever since. read more

During first visit to spray inside cement block foundation for wasps, my tenant was told if the wasps were still there, call and he would be back. After three days the swarm was still there and by the entrance. Said he would stop by and didnt. After several calls he left a recording he was on vacation. I went over and using sevin dust, eliminated the nest. He showed up days later and couldnt see bees. No kidding, I killed the nest. Now my tenant tells me she has bees in the house. She calls him again and was told he would be there next day. No show and no call. Seems to be a normal pattern with this company after reading reviews. In the days of online reviews and sites like this, you would think the effort of least a phone call would be worth it. Plus only responding because this poor service was made public doesnt change anything. $150 wasted. read more

Found another just today, 2 last week, probably 20 total since he came. Doesn't return calls promptly and doesn't show up to any requests for follow up at the time he said. Banner came immediately and applied treatments per contract, and gave me a 6 month warrantee. They asked for payment up front which i happily did. However, the treatment did not work and the problem got worse. I tried to call and email Rick repeatedly over several weeks letting him know things were out of control, but he did not respond. Finally sent an angry email threatening bad reviews... Rick came the next day and said we indeed needed another treatment, and would be back "next week" to apply treatment. But then Rick fell off the face of the Earth and never came back and never responded to several more weeks of persistent emails. So now, after 2 months of haggling with Rick, I've got what's been called a 'major infestation" by several other exterminators. My property is a mess. things are much worse than when Rick saw the problem, and I've wasted hours chasing Rick around, and lost money I gave him. And i have to spend 3 times the amount Rick charged me to get this major problem fixed the right way. I'd say avoid at all costs. read more

Happy to report that as I was actually writing my original review my husband was receiving a call from Rick apologizing for his slow/lack of response and wanting very much to make things right. He explained that a serious illness in the family had diverted his attention and energy (understandably) and was aware that his business had unfortunately suffered. We set up an appointment for our usual service plus additional treatment we were needing this year. All went without a hitch I am pleased to say. Also was successful in referring him to my two neighbors who have already received their service calls. What keeps us coming back to Banner year after year is their honesty and their real effort at customer service and when a problem exists make a sincere effort to make things right. I am pleased to say that Rick has done just that and we are glad to renew our relationship with him. read more

I have worked with Rick for two years and found the experience frustrating and unpleasant. He fails to respond to phone calls and voice mails, does not reply to texts in a timely manner, and is overall impossible to reach. I had bed bugs in a two bedroom condo, I paid the $550 fee up front and it took him and his crew over three weeks to get in for the initial spraying. After that, no follow-up was done. Two months later, the bed bugs were back again! They were completely ineffective and failed to live up to their one-year pest free guarantee when they did not reply to my calls and texts asking for a follow-up spraying. It has now been three weeks since I first requested the follow-up and I am fed up. I have spoken with another pest control company and will be pursuing their services. PLEASE, Do not work with Banner Pest Control! They are a waste of your time, energy, and effort. They are terrible at communicating, ineffective at pest control, and their one-year pest free guarantee is meaningless. read more
