On a Sunday night, we saw a mouse scurry across the floor of our third floor apartment. Even though they were closed, when I called Biggins, someone responded and let me know that a technician would reach out when they opened Monday. Monday morning Steve, the owner, called and asked me a few questions about the house. We arranged an appointment for him to come and take a look. He gave us an estimate over the phone that seemed reasonable. When Steve came, he inspected the property and pointed out that there were gaps in the foundation that a Mason would need to fill to prevent mice from coming in. He communicated very clearly and explained that he could set traps and fill small holes but more mice could continue to get in if we didn't solve the core problem. He offered to have a Mason they've worked with do the work, but we had one on call. We were able to get a mason to fill the gaps. Steve came back to inspect the traps he set on his first visit and the masonry work. The entire time he and his son were clear, respectful, and honest. They charged the price they'd quoted us, which felt very reasonable for the amount of work they did. I'd use Steve and his team again if we ever have another pest problem, but I doubt it'll happen in this property as we were able to seal everything up with Steve's help and guidance. read more

I called Biggins for an issue with mice and silverfish inside and bees, hornets, and ants outside. The gentleman on the phone suggested just taking care of the mice since it was late in the season for ants, gave me greener suggestions for the silverfish, and told me that I could wait until after the first frost for the bees and hornets because they would leave the nest. I hate to be redundant, and I'm not sure that I totally believed all of the five star ratings that they had, but this company is an example of how a company should be run. I got a return call within five minutes of leaving my message which I should know was repeated back to me to confirm that everything was correct, which is also rare today. The quoted price was very reasonable and I was offered an appointment between 2 PM and 2:30 PM the next day. I agreed hoping that they would be there sometime in that time. At exactly 2 PM The front doorbell rang and all work was completed within 30 minutes and by 2:30 PM he was gone. Courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. Our cat told us we had unwanted mouse visitors and she was right. Steve came to check out the house the day after we called (and he arrived on time!). He gave the inside and the outside of the house a thorough examination. All potential entry points (which he showed us with photos) were blocked with an anti rodent material. I didn't even have Steve Biggins come out to do any work on my house, and I still give him 5 stars. Let me explain. My house had a recent rat problem with rats getting in the basement. I called Steve to ask him to do an estimate. When I explained what was going on, he said, "You don't need me! Let me tell you what to do instead!" Steve explained that for a rat problem, rats will move on if there is no food source. He advised me to 1. Remove the food source, and 2. Do exclusion. He even referred me to a mason he works with so that he could seal up my stone foundation. His advice prompted me to remove a problematic tree in our yard that was a food source and call the mason to seal the foundation, which I think is much better money spent than paying an exterminator to set traps (which we did ourselves anyway).
