It is terrible that this new building does not have a restroom for their customers…read more When a business denies bathroom access even to paying customers, it communicates a specific set of messages regarding its values, operational health, and perception of consumer rights in 2026. 1. Perceived Message to the Customer * Prioritization of Costs over Comfort: It signals that the business views maintenance and utility costs as more important than the physical well-being of its patrons. * Operational Instability:Customers often interpret a "No Restroom" policy as a sign that the business is understaffed or struggling with safety/vandalism issues it cannot manage. * Transactional Devaluation: Even though a purchase was made, the denial suggests the relationship is strictly for profit, stripping away the hospitality element often expected in retail and dining.  2. Impact on Brand and Loyalty * Reduced Return Rates: Research indicates that restroom availability and cleanliness are critical to business assessment; approximately 70% of customersare more likely to return to a business with accessible, clean facilities. * Negative Word-of-Mouth: Over 50% of people who have a negative restroom experience--including being denied access--will discuss it with friends or family, potentially damaging the brand's local reputation. * Humiliation and Stigma: For many, especially those with medical needs, being denied is "demoralizing" and can cause lasting emotional distress or "moral harm," making the customer feel unwelcome and unworthy of basic dignity.  3. Legal and Compliance Risks * Medical Access (Ally's Law): As of 2026, at least 20 U.S. states(including CA, OR, NY, TX, and IL) have passed the Restroom Access Act. This law requires businesses to allow customers with "eligible medical conditions" (like IBD or Crohn's) to use employee restrooms if no public one is available. Fines for non-compliance can reach $100 per incident. * Potential Discrimination Claims:If access is granted to some paying customers but denied to others, businesses may face lawsuits for discrimination based on race, gender, or disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or state civil rights laws.

We called her right after meeting with our realtor for the first time and have been in regular contact since. We are first-time homebuyers so we had no idea what we were doing and Nancy took the time to answer all of our questions, of which there were many. Nancy checked in with us regularly and called as soon as she had any news for us. Nancy is incredibly knowledgeable about all things mortgage-related. If she didn't know something, she found out and told us immediately. She is incredibly thorough and took care of everything for us. We really only had to sign paperwork and decide on a rate, the rest Nancy took care of. She is also a complete sweetheart and we loved working with her personally. I will definitely be sending my friends to Nancy when it's their turn to buy a house. If you're looking for a mortgage broker, definitely go with her!
