We retained Preston Gardner at Davis Miles to represent us during an already stressful and financially devastating period. Unfortunately, major mistakes were made in handling our case. Among the most serious issues was the failure to properly file a Motion to Compel Abandonment, which nearly resulted in us losing our home. In addition, reaffirmation agreements on an auto loan and second mortgage that we continued paying flawlessly were not properly handled, causing avoidable damage to our credit reports. The fallout from these mistakes was significant. We ultimately had to hire a different bankruptcy attorney to repair the damage and correct the problems created during the process. In total, the errors cost us approximately $30,000. Thankfully, with competent legal help, we were eventually able to protect our home and stabilize our situation. The representation was decent depending on the lawyer. However, I recently called regarding a property lien and I spoke to two different attorneys. They both told me to tell the title company to ignore the lien because it is not a valid lien. What law firm would think that a title company whose only job is to guarantee a clean title would just ignore a lien??? Alien is a legal issue that needs to be handled legally. When I called back a third time insisting I needed legal representation they indicated they could not help me, they refused to even refer an attorney, so I could not even hire one of their attorneys if I wanted to. Luckily I have a client who is an attorney at Goodman Law who once contacted immediately located documentation that the lien was invalid and got it removed from our title LEGALLY.
