It was such a great deal that we knew we had to give this place a try! Our order was ready when we arrived, even though it looked like there was only one person working at the time. The shop itself has a unique vibe, with an interesting décor that immediately caught our attention--there's even a piano right at the front, which gives the place a fun and unexpected touch. This place definitely doesn't skimp on the portion size. A large here is cut into 2 sandwiches and 1 half is usually most places' regular sized sandwich. Overall it's a pretty decent sandwich, not the biggest fan of the baguette that they use but in a crunch, it works out. read more

We're from out of town, placed an order on Chowbus Direct, got confirmation that it was placed, order being prepared and ready for pickup. We went to the business but no one was there. Fence gate was locked. We called the business phone number several times, and no one picked up the phone. It was around 7:00 p.m. Their business website said their business hour ending time is 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both Google and Yelp also confirmed their business hour. We don't know how anyone can operate a business like this. We don't mind if their business hour closes early Sunday, but at least make sure that it reflects correctly on your business website. We submitted payment through third-party online and now are trying to get a refund because the business apparently was closed earlier than their stated business hours. read more

It's a pretty good alternative when Duc Huong across the street runs out of bread before closing and you don't want to drive out to Tully to get to Huong Lan before they close at 8PM. Honestly, not worth it. My friend and I ordered through DoorDash - four different banh mi, a lemongrass grilled pork vermicelli plate, and a green Thai milk tea. Unfortunately, the milk tea didn't show up (not sure whose fault that was, but still a bummer). We got one small tofu/egg banh mi, one small lemongrass chicken, one large char siu, and one large grilled pork. Everything came toasted and with veggies, but the two large banh mi didn't have enough veggies, since I asked for them on side - and they completely left out the pickled daikon and carrots. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place is struggling. The fridge by the entrance looked unkempt, the kitchen felt more like a cramped kitchenette than a professional setup, and the dining area was completely chaotic. The tables and chairs piled up everywhere with absolutely no place to sit. The food only confirmed my suspicions. Their pork tasted like plain pork. I've been to Banh Mi Oven a number of times. I particularly enjoy that they have several vegetarian options. If you buy 5 sandwiches, you get the 6th one free. I always leave with 6 sandwiches. Depending on the time of day, sometimes the sandwiches take longer. Though, I know making 6 sandwiches takes some time. The store also has different grocery and snacks you can buy as well. I just had a banh mi from Lee's sandwiches and was still hungry and decided to try out this place after noticing my roommate who dislikes me was cooking in the apartment kitchen. The banh mi was very flavorful, even more so than the one at Lee's. The vegetables gave additional flavor and the tofu had a nice texture. The food was reasonably priced but would have been nice if it was 5$. The footlong equivalent to subway is better tasting and had a delicious aroma. The service was solid. They also have different sizes. I do want to point out that if you order a regular, they do cut it into 2 (and thus you have 2 "small" banh mi). Unfortunately the small isn't small enough (for me at least) to be able to order 2 different sandwiches. I was STUFFED after eating my ONE small sandwich. Despite the large menu, we defaulted to the trusty #1 (Cold Cut Combo) and #6 (Grilled Pork). They're pretty quick so although you can now order online, don't worry about ordering in store. I wanted to get meatball also (they were out) but since the small was pretty big, I'm glad I stuck with just one sandwich. My boyfriend could only finish half of his regular size cold cut combo since it was so big. The filling was yummy and the banh mi was stuffed! This used to be my favorite Banh Mi store but the service has gotten so bad (including the San Fernando location). The food quality and service time has gotten unreliable. You can get a delicious sandwich one day, and a sloppy one the next. Sometimes your order will be ready in less than 10 minutes, and sometimes it'll take 30-40 minutes!!! My guess is that BMO suffers from high employee turnover and understaffing - every time I've visited, the employee(s) is/are new. I eat at Lee's Sandwiches now. read more
