The food and service here is fabulous. We came here on a weeknight around 5:30 and there were two other tables. But as we were making our way through our meal around 3-4 other tables came by and the place was busier. We ordered the pad kee mao, the pad Thai, the pad se ew, and the chicken special (Himmapan). The Himmapan was a little sweet and sort of like an Americanized chicken dish, but still good (though pricy). The noodle dishes had all the right flavors. And the dessert we ordered, the fried banana with coconut ice cream and the sweet mango sticky rice were all really good. Very quaint but nice place! After getting off of our ferry and walking through the middle of Martha's Vineyard we stumbled upon Bangkok cuisine. We immediately looked at Yelp to find that the restaurant was rated slightly lower than I would have thought. But knowing many times we find Asian restaurants rated slightly lower than our rating, we decided to try. Thank goodness that we did. This was one of the better Thai restaurants that I have been to. We started with shumai, chicken satay and egg rolls. Went on to one Thai spaghetti, one crispy basil duck, one fried rice and one Pad Voonsen. Everyone was comparing food and we were all impressed, but the shining star was the duck. It was excellent. Last big thing was service, which was outstanding. Very happy that we gave it a try. Very sweet location in an old house on Circuit Avenue, one of the main streets downtown. The inside is cozy. The server, maybe owner? Was just the happiest person ever and he was incredibly polite and gracious. The menu is huge. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, which arrived very quickly. It was hot and satisfying but didn't have a lot of flavor. The portion was large, and by the time I was halfway through I was done. It almost had an overly oily taste to it, just pretty bland. My lunch companions had beef and noodles which they said was great. I'm thinking my order wasn't the best choice here so I'm still giving them 4 stars. One last note: Quite pricey--three lunch entrees and tap waters were $66 but I can't imagine what the taxes or rent could be in this amazing location. read more

Our daughters have always enjoyed the food here so my husband and I decided to try it. We had the panang curry and the pad voonsen. I thought it was great that you can choose the spice level of each dish, so I chose 1 star for the pad voonsen and 2 stars for the panang curry. I love spicy dishes that make my eyes water but I decided to start with mild spice until I got to know the restaurant better. Whoever cooked the dishes didn't get the concept of one star meaning very little spice. It had us coughing from the first bite, and was spicier than the panang curry, which also turned out to be pretty spicy. Both dishes had great flavor but were a challenge for our palate. I found the prices to be high ($8.95 for Thai iced tea!) and was also surprised that you have to pay extra for any of the proteins for the pad voonsen, and only chicken was "free" with the panang curry. We ordered ahead for takeout but the service was pleasant and it is an attractive space. read more

Reading the reviews I was excited to try this place, especially "the best Pad Thai" ever. What a disappointment! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the Pad Thai a 3. It just tasted like tangy, sugar water on noodles. I am not sure where the other reviewers have been exposed to Pad Thai, but this was pretty bad. We tried the shumai as well. I would give that a 1, basically inedible. It tasted like mackerel balls. Nice people, great location, bad food. read more

This appeared to be the only straight-up, Thai-only place on the island. There were other places that featured 'fusion' or 1 - 2 Thai dishes, but this was an actual Thai restaurant. It is located near the old 'camp' neighborhood of Victorian cottages. The restaurant is built into one of these, though it is definitely on the periphery of the development. We were staying in Edgartown but it was less than a 15-minute drive up here. Parking appeared to be on-street only, though that wasn't a problem on the Thursday evening when we visited. The clients seemed to be about 40% take-out, 40% local regulars, and 20 % tourists. The menu was pretty standard, but the food was tasty. No one was disappointed with the selection of the execution. We got a satay appetizer and 3 different curries and noodle dishes. The spice-level (if you requested higher) was pretty good, too. The likelihood of me being back on Martha's Vineyard seems remote, but if so I'd definitely consider a return visit here. read more

Quite possibly the strangest dining experience I've ever had. We wanted a little spice in our lives after spending a week in Oak Bluffs, where most of the restaurants are delicious, but are mostly classified as serving 'American' cuisine. A quick trip down Circuit Avenue and we ended up here. We walked into and were greeted with amazing smells. Unfortunately, the food was the only greeting we received. We were patient for a bit because the place is small and was mostly full, but our patience grew thin after a few staff members walked past and ignored us for another few minutes. Someone finally acknowledged us and rushed us to a table. Our server appeared as soon as menus touched the table and asked for our order. We asked for water and Thai iced tea. She then demanded that we also give our entree order and was visibly upset when we weren't ready. Things became even more tense when we found ourselves to be the fourth and fifth wheel of a terribly awkward date. It's no exaggeration to say this place is incredibly small and we had the pleasure of being squeezed next to a guy who seemed to think he was going on a date with one girl, but she brought and mostly entertained conversation with her friend... awkward. The food couldn't have arrived quickly enough! It arrived just as we were deciding whether hunger or the desire to leave was stronger. Of course, we were also disappointed with our food. We received the tiniest crispy rolls I've ever seen. Seriously, we could have combined 2.5/3 to make one proper roll. Our entrees also tasted like nothing but oil - no flavor. My date was more than disappointed to have paid extra to add shrimp to a noodle dish and received exactly two shrimp. The response from the server was that shrimp was ordered and there was shrimp on the plate. We were both like...but... there are two. AVOID if you are celiac or have a wheat allergy. SOY SAUCE is in EVERYTHING and our server couldnt get it through her head that we were trying to avoid soy sauce (which is not usually in Thai food at all), despite our repeatedly asking about it. I visited this restaurant last night and for under $25 including tax and tip, I had a delicious meal of crispy tofu over a bed of broccoli with a delicious sweet sauce with lemongrass and spices. Food Presentation - 5 stars. See photo. A shaved carrot made to look like a flower and even the straw wrapper folded into a flower. Food Taste - 4 stars. It was very good, and I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. This probably had more sugar than I wanted (trying to be healthy) but it was delicious. The Thai iced tea was exactly what I expected, sweet and refreshing. Ambiance - 3.5 Stars. A nice ambiance. Kind of cozy but nothing out of the ordinary. In a very quaint neighborhood but hey, this is the Vineyard. I don't remember if there was any background music... Service - 3.5 Stars. I was served promptly by a friendly woman but there wasn't any interaction beyond that. The restaurant was not busy (two other tables). Price - 4 Stars. Any other town would be three stars but this is the Vineyard where everything is expensive! Dinner and a drink (non-alcoholic) with tax and tip under $25 is better than most sit down with a menu restaurants here. 20 Stars / 5 = 4 Stars. Seems to be the consensus. I'll be back! read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch, one of the few asian restaurants at the vineyard. The pad thai was ok, the mango sticky rice was decent also. This place seems to get good business. The thing I like is that their grow their own basil right outside the restaurant. Which gives it a nice aroma if your sitting outside! read more

Go figure that Martha's Vineyard would have such amazing Thai food? Truth be told, when the hubby told me he had a hankering for chicken pad thai and he wanted it from the Thai restaurant on Main Street, I thought I better have a frozen pizza on standby. Boy was I wrong!! I had the crab spring roles (crab meat with sweet cream cheese in a lightly fried shell) and it was totally delicious. One of my daughters went berserk over it. I also had the chicken mango stir fry. Lightly fried chicken with cabbage, mango, peppers and scallions. Delicious with a little heat. The hubby had chicken satay (delish) and his old standby chicken pad thai (amazing - and he is a connoisseur of chicken pad thai AKA it's all he orders from Thai restaurants). We also had Thai Iced Tea which was good as anything you would get in Manhattan. We did take out and the staff couldn't be nicer. Must be something they put in the drinking water in Martha's Vineyard. I would definitely recommend and come back. read more

Like this place very much. The food is healthy, fresh and they will spice it up or down depending on your preference. As a vegetarian, I had plenty of options. I was craving Thai food one day and stumbled upon this restaurant, and let me just say, it's pretty darn good for a Thai restaurant on an island! They have all your regular Thai food, and it's all very tasty. I went there three times, and got the chicken fried rice two of the times, and the chicken pad Thai the third time. Both dishes were very delicious. The only reason that I am not giving this restaurant a five star is because it's a bit of a small restaurant, and it's not like the BEST Thai food I've ever eaten, but it's very good for an island restaurant. Entrees felt like they were straight out a grocery store freezer, traders joes to be exact but there isn't one on the island so I can't blame it on them especially since their frozen entrees taste better. We ordered the Pad see ew and Bangkok chicken red curry. Pad see ew was good.. It actually tastes exactly like Chinese chow fun, and the red curry was good also but had no chicken in it.
