Came for Taco Tuesday, they have affordable tacos on Tuesdays with a limited selection for the special. Tacos were okay, didn't really have much flavor to be honest. I had the chicken and pork. Ordered the chicken tinga burrito and it was delicious. I would def. come back for the burrito. The spot is great and location where you can walk to. I really like the patio area as well. I had the displeasure of visiting this place on U Street. I order my food and once I received it. I did not like the way it looked, and the way it was prepared. So I ask to speak with a Manager. I was appalled at the way Ricardo, the Manager spoke with me. He was rude, aggressive, and very unprofessional when speaking to me. I will never go to the place again for two reasons, one the way my food looked when I received it, and two, Ricardo. He needs to be removed from his position at Bandit Tacos as soon as possible. I found myself working from home and in need of lunch..I got a notification about Bandit Taco opening up in my area recently but didn't think anything of it right away. I open up my Uber Eats and the first thing I see is Bandit Taco and thought why not?!? The delivery was super fast (like 20 minutes!) so definitely take that into consideration if you don't feel like going out. For food, I ordered a pretty small lunch - 1 fish taco, 1 shrimp taco and chips and pico. It was all very tasty! My favorite had to be the fish taco, it was soo good. The fish was tasty as well too though. I would definitely eat from this place again, I will likely try the queso next and more tacos! Yum yum. I'm also very curious to see the restaurant/store front so my next visit will definitely be in person! read more

If you're looking for good Mexican food - Bandit Taco is devastatingly close but just off the mark. I ordered the adobada burrito with extra pineapple. Pork was underwhelming but tender. Pineapple chunks were hard and at times inedible - as if taken from the center of the pineapple. Green salsa was a good addition to the burrito and added some of the flavor I felt was missing. Dc has there fair share of terrible tacos/ Mexican food, bandit taco is truly an exception. I love their tacos and am impressed by their guacamole. I am from Texas, I am a very harsh critique & I eat here often :) I like their adobo chicken& Korean beef the most! Situated in an area with four Mexican restaurants within two blocks, Bandit Taco has plenty of competition to beat. Luckily for them, they do so quite handily by offering a plethora of unique, outside-the-box tacos ready to be customized and prepared just to your liking. I ordered the Tofu Taco, which boasted the zesty flavors of citrus, poblano, and salsa piled high atop the guacamole and cheese I added. Though not spicy in the least, it was a messy and delectable love letter to Tex-Mex cuisine. The prices here are pretty darn low, especially compared to other establishments nearby. My meal was all of six dollars. What's more, Bandit accepts AU Eagle Bucks when placing an order through GrubHub. Service is exceptionally quick; my pickup order was ready a full 40 minutes early! YUM! Went here for pickup during the quarantine and the staff adhered to all restrictions and made me feed safe (1 person at a time in the restaurant). Food was divine! Came here with a friend after a workout. It was in the area and a new thing that we both wanted to try. I ended up getting the street corn and two tacos, one was mushroom and the other one was pork. I never tried a mushroom taco before so the novelty of it appealed to me. I didn't find any of the food particularly horrible but I didn't find it very tasty or memorable either. What I did like where the sauce is that came with the food especially the red one was quite spicy and I used it the next day to mix with my scrambled eggs and breakfast. My friend had a bowl and she found a piece of plastic in her meal which she subsequently spit out. A service is at the counter where you order and pay. The indoors is limited seating and not comfortable. They do have outdoor seating on the sidewalk if you're interested in that. Didn't go into the bathroom so I don't know what that's like. They offer a variety of Mexican sodas and they also have dessert. Price is okay but I think it's a little bit much considering the quality of the food. If I was in the area and had a hankering for this type of food I might come back. read more

This little hole in the wall is located on a weird stretch of 41st street that I didn't even know existed and drive past it all the time without paying attention. I think Bandit Taco is worth paying attention. For my first visit, I just had a simple steak quesadilla. The steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The peppers and onions in it were amazing -- perfectly crisp-tender. Not a lot of these fast service places take such care with these basic cooking techniques, but this filling on this quesadilla really elevated it. The place is small and primarily carry out. I hope they are able to attract and retain an audience given their out-of-the way location. read more

Service sucks. Food sucks. Location sucks. Can it get any worse? It was a slow Monday afternoon with only one person in line in front of me but when it was my turn the cashier guy seemed to be in a hurry and kept urging me to finish my order. Rude and annoying. I ordered 3 tacos all of which were just ok and tiny for the price. Fish, shrimp, skirt steak. Fish and steak had no flavor- shrimp was ok because of the sauce they added on top. They have verde and hot sauce in a dirty looking bottle for you and room temperature tap water in a plastic dispenser. This place has a few bar seats and like 1 table. I literally was bumping into the guy and his 2 daughters sitting at the table everytime I stood up. It's mostly a take out place on a narrow street with limited parking. This place use to put sauce for your taco I'm your box. I haven't been in a while ordered 3 tacos, got home, no sauce. They were so DRY...I spent $20 dollars. When I called back the rep said they no longer give sauce you have to ask for it. Well...if it is takeout....I would assume you would ask the customer would they like sauce. I tried Bandit Taco a few days ago, and was very impressed with the quality of the food and the authenticity of the cuisine- genuinely fresh corn tortillas, excellent meat (I had the skirt steak tacos), and lots of fresh spices and add-ons that made for one of the best tacos I've had in the DMV region. Their drinks are very good, too- I tried the house-made Hibiscus Flower and Lime beverages- a bit sweet, but very good flavors. Top it off with queso & chips and you've got a good meal, although a bit sparse (the taco was delicious but by no means large). The restaurant is housed in a colorfully painted space right off of Wisconsin Avenue, and the proprietor, Giorgio, is a friendly and engaging individual. He worked hard to make sure everything there met my needs. The only concern I have here is price, and it's not a totally justified one- the food quality is excellent, and you are going to pay a higher price for good food- it's just a fact. Given I paid about $15 for a smaller meal does make one think how frequently they will return to dine- it's all up to the patron, what they value, and what their food priorities are. If you love Latino food and are looking for a simpler, delicious meal, and don't mind paying a higher price for it, Bandit Taco is absolutely the place to go, hands down. I will be back, but how frequently depends on how heavy my wallet is at the moment. Having said this, I really hope this business makes it- the food is delicious, the service is great, and it's located in an ideal location if you live or commute along Wisconsin Avenue. read more

Stopped in for a second time and as always the staff was very courteous and nice which is a plus to have amazing customer service. My daughter loves the tofu burrito and I've tried the Korean beef, Baja fish and crispy shrimp tacos which were very tasty. I really like the the crispy shrimp so I think that will be my usual.
