Very nice and clean and new. There's actually quite a bit of seating here but I recommend coming early to grab a seat. The whole time we were here there was a line at the door. Sometimes only 1 party and sometimes up to 4-5. They have a nice big front patio area which they will open up when it gets warmer that will open up a lot more space. We were told that a bunch of the menu items were unavailable (pretzels, smelt, chicken tails). We didn't try any food there. They have 8 beers they brew and had on tap. It costs $10 tax in for a flight of 4 beers, so we got 2 flights and tried all 8 beers. I know everyone has a different opinion on beers, so I won't go into too much detail about it. There were probably only 2 beers that I enjoyed and would drink a whole pint of. Overall, it was only ok. There aren't any TVs here so don't expect to watch the game here. There is really only one main dish here which is the steak frites. So it's really just a place to have a beer and catch up. read more

Love the location and relaxed setting here. Bandit has a beautiful exterior patio and comfortable, yet spartan interior. They have a take out section at the entrance for to-go purchases. Service is excellent here. They really make an effort to make you feel welcome, as well as informed. The biggest challenge and opportunity is the beer. They are clearly still figuring out their beer mix. Often there are offerings that are bizarre or that seem to be slightly off. (Rather than toss out a funky batch, they may serve it or re-brand it.) there are also occasions when there are several options, yet most are 6% alcohol or higher. This is not ideal for higher sales or for those looking for a lighter ale or lager. Best to try a tasting flight to get a good overview of what is going on before committing. read more

My first impression of Bandit Brewery was like Bellwoods, but without the lineup. It's more than just that, though. They have a really fantastic space, both indoors and out. It's set up for events. When they had a Yelp event there was plenty of space for a band and a crowd. Their service is always great. Canada has high standards for friendly bar tenders, but Bandit is phenomenal. The food is a little more than I typically want to spend on bar food. It's not overpriced; they take their food seriously and it's all delicious. But not something I'm going to drop money on every day. If you're looking for a more affordable night, their fries are top notch. There aren't a lot of bars in Toronto right now with a gose. Their apricot gose is delicious, although a little too fruity for me to want to do multiple rounds of it. A pro and a con. Luckily, they have a great selection of great beers. This is a dangerous thing to admit, but some of the Ontario craft beers don't sit well with me. I can enjoy just about any Bandit brew without getting all flush, which is much appreciated. And believe me, I think I've tried them all. Also, the logo is really cute. They sell those glasses so you can drink from them at home, too. read more

I went to Bandit with a good friend for drinks and snacks on a busy Saturday right in the middle of Toronto's July heat wave. Although the place was hopping we were sat at one of the outdoor communal tables (our preference) within minutes. As expected for a brewery, the beer menu was as extensive as the food menu, so it was here we struggled with decisions. We decided to order flights to cut down on the FOMO, opting for a porter, a wheat ale, a session ale, and an APA. While Bandit offers five locally brewed taps on top of its own selection, all four of our beers came from Bandit. While we waited for our beers we dug into selecting our snacks. Guys, they have deep fried cheese curds. Obviously we needed to try these. I am a sucker for a good pretzel and mustard so was dismayed to hear they were out that night, but my body probably thanked me for my decision to get the kale salad in its place. Neither of us were that hungry so we stuck to just two snacks, anticipating the carbo load of beer would fill us up even more (spoiler alert: it did). Both beer and snacks were delicious. The cheese curds came with ketchup and a creamy dill aioli I was tempted to lick out of the ramekin. And the salad offered a nice fresh-tasting, roughage-y antidote to fried food and beer. As for our flights, my friend liked the porter and not the APA, while I loved the APA and was not so hot on the porter. So we switched with each other and everything went back to being right with the world. We agreed the session and wheat ales were great summer beers - easy drinking but not boring. The only downside to our experience at Bandit was our less than enthusiastic server. She seemed one part stressed out and one part aloof. We each ordered a beer after our flights and when my friend's selection was out she brought a different type of beer without consulting him. She then seemed hassled when he said he would prefer to choose his replacement himself. As former servers ourselves, we both chalked this up to how busy the whole place seemed. Passing by in the days before and after our visit it seems like Bandit has been consistently busy, which for a new establishment can be a lot to handle. We also got the fried cauliflower, cheese curds and French fries to share which were all superb! Although the wait can be long, it's a GREAT patio spot in Toronto. They have a wide range of craft beers so ordering a flight to feel the waters is a great way to start your experience! Their tap is always changing so it's different every time you drop by as well, I favour the YYZ editions, it's very interesting fusing ingredients that are reminiscent of other cities around the world. Food is also AMAZING, especially the buttermilk fried chicken + parmesan fries with aioli. The patio section is always busy but indoor seating is usually available with cool interior elements. 4 star spot with 2 star service. I don't usually complain but the disconnect between the lively vibe, great food, hopping patio and our server who truly seemed put out by taking our order was a bit surprising. This is a local spot that is worth travelling to, especially in the summer. Small maples hold lights over a picnic table filled patio that you'll want to spend an afternoon at. The food is quite good for a brewery. We had the burger and the lack of bun is only because we're doing keto. Still totally delicious and we desperately wanted the beer battered cheese curds! But back to the service... our server seemed deeply annoyed by our order, delivered side salads that were undressed (read, just lettuce) and seemed to get only more put out when we asked for dressing. Anyhoo... another glass of wine should solve all that. I think it was likely a blip in an otherwise cool, friendly, neighbourhood spot! read more

Great beer selection, you'll find something for everyone. The space feels large, good for groups. Some snacks are available but definitely not a dinner place. Even when it is packed the noise level is pretty mild. All the beers on the menu were delicious. We got 2 flights aka one over everything. Special mentions: smoke on the porter tastes like drinking BBQ Inna good way, I highly recommend it. Ringtail light smooth and flavourful. hassel-hoff was standard wheat beer. The menu has definitely improved from when they first opened. Instead of just appetizers, they now offer full meal options, but limited. Beer options are their strong suit. Cider and wine options not impressive. This will probably be my last visit. Every time the music is way too loud and you have to shout in order to be heard by friends. Their patio is always busy so we decided to go there for dinner. The beer was good. The food was OK, nothing special at all. The service was lacking. Our waiter seemed miserable... he walked away forgetting to take one of our orders and just plopped down our cheese plate without explaining what was on it. The only time we had attentive service was when the card machine was brought over for us to pay and the server stood over our shoulders to make sure we left a decent tip. Since leaving, I've been debating on 4 or 5 stars. Let's go over what you need to know regardless of star rating. They currently have about 10+ beers on tap. These are available for $7.50 for a 16oz pint or $10 for 4 x 5oz samples. I sampled heck out of the place and will say that I'm impressed because of the range and unique flavours on offer. LAGERS, WHEATS, ALES: Their Patio Hopper Lager has a nice crushable lager flavour for those who like cleaner drinking beers. Good lagers are hard to come by nowadays from the smaller brewers, so I tip my hat right from the get go on this one. On the wheat tip, Weizen Up brings flavours of banana, papaya and tangerine. It might be the most full flavoured of the non pale ale options. Farmed and Dangerous is a farmhouse ale which at first I wasn't sure about, but the flavours really grew on me with the slight hints of orange peel and coriander. PALE ALES: Admittedly the difference between the Cone Ranger and the Bandit APA were subtle but notable. Both were good albeit it a bit generic in the world of Pale Ale's that have been taking over the craft beer scene. The Belgian Pale Ale admittedly didn't impress me at all, but for those who like brown ales this might be your jam. That said, they offered a White Belt IPA which is a wheat IPA blend which was freaking fantastic. Perfect for the day time or the night, full flavour but not intimidatingly so. My favourite beer of the night. Lastly, the Black IPA was also really good. I can really take or leave a lot of Black IPAs but this one had a really nice balance to it. Apparently their black IPA is a blend of recipes from their porter and their White Belt IPA? This is what I believe the waiter was saying, but either way, its really a standout beverage in itself. FOOD: Mostly bar food good for sharing and drinking beer with. Pretzels, Chicken Tails (aka Chicken Butts), Beer Battered Cheese Curds, Salad, and one dinner worthy item in Steak Frites. There is room for menu expansion but given they just opened I like that they kept it a narrow menu so they aren't trying to bite off more than they can proverbially chew. We ordered the Beer Battered Cheese Curds, which were definitely good for sharing and came with a potentially dill/ranch dipping sauce and a ketchup. I'll admit they became a bit one dimensional in flavour after a while but they were still good and a healthy sized bowl at $9. Servers were friendly and seemed knowledgeable into what was what. Lastly, their branding is amazing. Toronto loves their raccoons, and their logo is awesome and their glassware looks fantastic while appealing to the trash panda loving masses. So to wrap this up... I'm going to give it the 5 stars. There is still room for improvement, but given they are just getting into the game, I feel they are on the right path to being a premiere brew pub. It's no Bellwoods yet, but there is so much potential... And really, my first impressions here were better than any of the competing places in the area. Very stylish looking brewery with a nice big patio and open concept seating. They only had 5 beers on tap when I went, but apparently this was due to being sold out of some options right now. The ones I tried were pretty good, though looking at the photos posted here of previous menus I wish I could have chosen from their full list. Meaning there was no sort of sauce or condiment to mix and play with. Just a teaspoon smear of mustard. Perhaps a cider jelly in the future? I don't want to be "that person" that gives a pretty dope local microbrewery a less than perfect review. I'll start with the pros: The breakfast hash was BOMB, super tasty, and while a lot of people complain that the beer and food menu is "small", I'd have to disagree because to me this just means they do a handful of items well, and boy do they ever! When the after brunch menu came around (we were there for about 6 hours, hubby and I were having such a great time), we ordered their KFC (fried cauli, SO GOOD), hushpuppies and parm fries. All the food is really tasty and well seasoned, they do craft beer really right and the overall price was super reasonable! We got seated quite quickly outside, and the overall staff was pretty nice. The only reason why I'm docking some stars on this review is the wait between being served drinks. Yes, it was the first super nice patio day of the year, yes, it was Cinco de Mayo, and yes, it was busy. However, it shouldn't take 1.5 hours for a server to come by. I sat and watched as tables near us had empty glasses and weren't being served. 1.5 hours - Is an unacceptable wait time. I ended up having to go find our server to ask her (politely) if she could come to take our orders, to which she seemed to (happily) do so. The servers are quite lovely, but the service is lacklustre; On busy days like this past Sunday, ensure you are properly staffed. I can totally empathize with how busy it was but patrons shouldn't have to wait over an hour for a refill or to order food when the menu switches over. I will 100% gladly return time and time again and bring friends here, I just hope the service will be a bit better and timely next time :) read more

I'm giving bandit a 3.5 just to be clear. Same as another review, I've driven past Bandit several times and have always wanted to visit, so today was the day. Cute little store almost as small as Kensington Brewing Co. and very friendly staff. As I'm not a sour fan, nor IPA, I really wish T.O. craft's would offer more Ales, Pilsner's and Lager's at the breweries... That said, the Watermelon IPA was refreshing and definitely pink in colour. One of the things I like about Mill Street Brew Pub, is the separation between Brewery and Pub. A simple glass wall with banquets and it makes all the difference to appreciate the Brewery. Staff would not let us stand and have a drink while waiting for a patio table - apparently can't serve you unless you're seated? Why have a bar????? Somehow accused our friend of being overserved despite being a beer behind the rest of us and being the soberest of the group. Very disappointing and while we tried to look past the initial frustrations, we were continually disappointed and left, having experienced some of the worst service in the city. My friend and I were really excited to stop by for a beer at Bandit on one of the first beautiful days of the season and when we arrived we were told that they were no longer seating the patio. At this time there were still a few larger groups sitting outside, the sun was still shining and all of the garage windows were open. If there was just no service outside that would have been totally understandable but we asked if we could just buy a beer at the bar and grab a seat outside and the answer was still no, and that if we wanted to buy a beer at the bar the wait would be at least 40 minutes. Doesn't make sense to me and as a fellow member of the industry I cant honestly think of another place that would turn people away on the first warm day of spring. Super disappointed guys! Beautiful patio that is a great place to grab a few drinks with friends and chat. Has a hip feel and it's nice to see all the brewing equipment and know everything is fresh. The brewing style is fairly hoppy and sweet, I tried 2 IPA and found them both to be sweeter than what a traditional would be but has a nice crisp finish in both as well. The wheat beer was nicely balanced and quite good. Great place to grab a pint if you're in the hood. read more

Came on the advice of a friend and definitely did not regret it. The patio is spacious and we were able to be rotated out quite quickly (although you do have to remind the staff). The unique beers really made the difference as you can actually taste the different hops. It was quite the unique patio experience and I would highly recommend a pit stop here. read more

Was hoping to stop by for a pint. Saw the patio was full, so opened the door to get a seat at the bar, as the hostess was busy. I was then told I'd have to wait to be seated, which is fair enough. But then was ignored by the hostess numerous times while she collected glasses and slammed the door. We left. It's not worth the wait for the average beer. My boyfriend and I wanted to like this place, but we both agreed it was a very middle of the road experience. The menu is very succinct. For a main, I ordered the eggplant and zucchini ravioli, which I would order again as a delicious meat free option. My boyfriend ordered the steak and potatoes and was unfortunately disappointed; the steak was charred and the whole plate was rather bland. We found the decor was a little too polished and soulless and the beer was nothing spectacular for a brewery. I'm just not a fan... Don't get me wrong, the place is very nice and the service was great (attentive, no attitudes), but the beer just wasn't that good. Fair prices and a good range of options, but the taste wasn't there. I really wanted to like it just because I live a few steps away.
