This place has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have a food allergy. I had asked for a chicken banh mi with no jalapeños. When I received my order, it had jalapeños in them. Ordered the #2 special dessert and it was really yummy! I ordered it to go and they gave me the shaved ice in a baggy, but I was told that they typically put it on top of the drink for you with a domed lid on top. If you are taking it out, make sure that you dont ask for ice separately because it'll become quite the project to put the ice inside the drink. (It also tastes really good without it as well). I can't wait to come back and try their other drinks. The tapioca in the #2 was nice and chewy, so I already know that their bubble tea is bound to be good. All the staff here are so friendly, and even when it was raining and there were no customers the moment they saw me walk in they quickly got up to their feet and offered the greetings and recommendations. Went to this spot bc my gf had mentioned it was very good dessert spot. So we all went after the dinner. Even when we were all full when the Pandan waffles and #6 &#12 drinks came out we were even the kiddos devouring them as if we never just had dinner! The food Was very good! Superb! Why did i give it ONE star rating? Thats for food. 10of us left this spot w bitter taste in our mouths bc the owner got mad at me for wanting to add an order after i had paid. I love bambu. This location is near Stony and has lots of seating and space, plus parking lot! I love the "Bambu Favorite" which has PANDAN JELLY, red tapioca, grass jelly, and coconut milk. You can also customize but I love their selections. All the jellies have different textures! read more

Every friend I have that goes to Stony Brook is a fan of BAMBU so I had to give it a try. The place isn't particularly busy but the seats are usually taken. I got Thai tea w pudding and bbq pork banhmi. Both were really delicious. The Thai tea was not too sweet or watered down which is usually the problem I have with other bubble tea spot. The banhmi is also very comparable to other banhmi places in the city which was impressive. If I ever visit stony again, I would come back and definitely recommend this place. Delicious tea options for everyone. The service here is also top notch. Having been twice and have not been disappointed. The decor is unique. Televisions screening music videos, playing songs that I didn't even know existed, adds to the ambiance. The boba have been perfectly made the two times I've gone, not too chewy and not too hard. The lychee jelly is also a favorite of mine. Coconut milk tea is their only decaf option and with half sugar was more than enough sweets. I have yet to try their food options but the last time I went the place was packed and it appeared like the most popular options were the classic banh mi, fries, and wings. By no means is this a place I could go to every day. I'm not a big on sweets kind of guy and most of their stuff is pretty sweet. However their drinks are always on point and their service is always excellent and with a smile. They recently just started adding food item on their menu a few months ago and their food item are fantastic! I've tried every style of Bahn-Mi they make and all of them are so delicious. It's a little bit different than what you would find in Flushing but I think its done better here. Their chicken wings are tossed in a sauce predominant of fish sauce but so addictive, their shrimp spring rolls are like CRACK. I usually buy 16 pieces and just destroy it. Their dumplings are kind of weird because its shell is kind of gooey but once you dip it in the sauce and get to the filling its heaven. Their fries are obviously not hand cut nor handmade but the pickled vegetables, grilled beef, fried egg and sauce that come with it just make them irresistible. My friends are obsessed with this place, I think its ok. The Sandwiches are good a little too much vegetable and sauce is a little too creamy and inconsistent with the spiciness. Most of the sandwich wont be spicy but then you get one bite thats overly spicy. They have a large selection of drinks however I find that they don't mix their bubble tea well enough and can be powdery. I love Bambu. Che is so hard to find, even in the city. Who would have thought that there would be a shop dedicated to it here out in Stony Brook. My favorite che of all time is the one they call the "green lantern," but they're all good dessert ices. They're all made with a variety of Southeast Asian fruits and coconut milk. There's no way to go wrong! The banh mis are delicious, but I've only ever had the original. It's so tasty I can't bring myself to order a different one. BAMBU is a popular dessert drink chain from California and I was excited when I learned there was one close by. I usually get the Avocado smoothie drink with coconut milk instead of dairy in LA but the menu here I guess is different. When I asked for my usual, the woman at the cash register said they don't put any milk in that drink at all. And she wasn't the nicest, and I just ordered a #1 quickly bc she was just staring at me. This Bambu also sells Banh Mi so my bf got a pork sandwich and I got kimchi fries and a pandan egg waffle. It takes a long time for your order. I would say 20 minutes. We sat down at a table to wait, prior to us sitting there, an employee was eating his food there and the table was left so dirty with rice all over. When my order was finally ready, I asked for my drink and it seemed like they forgot and had to go make it. Then after that, I asked for my egg waffle and again they forgot. I think I was there for a good 30 minutes! The egg waffle was good, standard with places in Flushing. The drink was interesting, I wasn't sure what was in there but it wasn't horrible. The Banh mi was not good, and hardly had any meat. The kimchi fries were just regular fries with a side of spicy mayo. read more

This place truly knocks the socks off of Kung Fu, ViVi's, Gong Cha, and the like. I stopped in on a weekend afternoon and the store was bustling. It didn't take too long to place an order, though, and the lady at the counter was warm and welcoming. I ordered the Bambu Special - it was delicious! I got less sugar (love that you can customize sugar content) which was a perfect level of sweetness. My favorite part was the Pandan jelly - the chewy texture was outstanding. The coconut juice slush was flavorful and refreshing, and the chunks of fresh lychee and coconut really pushed it from great to outstanding. The basil seeds also gave it a unique texture. I almost felt like it was healthy! It was really unlike any other drink that I've tried before. My friend ordered the Red Bean Combo with less sugar, and it was sweeter than mine but equally delicious. The coconut milk paired well with the red bean, and the taro paste added was absolutely life changing. She also got the Pandan waffle which I totally regret not ordering - warm and delicious! Another friend ordered the strawberry kiwi smoothie - also very fresh and a healthy portion. I really really like Bambu and recommend it to everyone in the area! Guys make drinks and smoothies in the front and you're waiting 30-45 minutes for a simple dish to come out, smoothies melt ‍. Orders get thrown on the side from someone running out of the back and after asking is all my food there, when you check there's several things missing. When you show the receipt a simple shrug of the shoulders. Another customer was waiting over 20 minutes and the food was actually on the counter, they didn't say anything just handed to her with a smirk. Although teas are good, smoothies are not good just frozen messes. As for the food very bland , I'll easily go a few stores fronts down for easier ordering , better food, and excellent customer service. Upon placing our order and asking what sizes were available for drinks, the man at the register threw two cup sizes down and stared at us. As each of us placed our order, he made sarcastic comments to us like "yeah that's exactly what I just asked" while rolling his eyes. We all looked at each other and just decided to walk out, to which the man started laughing. My family and I had a huge order, and they definitely missed out on a big sale. This man was large and had tattoos all up his arm. I had never seen him before. However, he should have absolutely been fired after what he did to us. I will not support this place anymore after this experience, and it's a shame because the food and drinks are very unique which is likely the only reason they are still in business.
