Sashimi Deluxe plus extra favorites!

Always the highest Premium freshest sushi you can find on long island Always a tantalizing taste bud experience! If you have not been here yet what are you waiting for. They also have the biggest jumbo wings on the island!

Summer Roll

I really liked the way the inside of the restaurant looks. Very cultural and comfortable seats. Looks a bit run down outside but pretty well kept inside. Service was nice- server was attentive. Although I did notice a difference between the treatment of the table next to us and ourselves. Im going based off of observations. We were both table of 2's, came in at the same time, girls, and yet one was checked on by the owner profusely while we were ignored and we were sitting across from each other. (wondering if it's a race issue as they were both white and we were not). Who knows but this definitely crossed my mind throughout the dinner. I would hope that this is not the case. Otherwise the servers kept up with refills. Food was okay. Not the best and I mainly questioned the freshness of it all. Appetizers: -Miso Soup: I enjoyed this. It was tasty. Entrees: -Alaskan roll: (cucumber, salmon, avocado) generally enjoyable, however I couldn't help but taste the salmon and feel something was off. Not the freshest piece of salmon and the avocado was also pretty browned. -Bulgogi roll: (marinated rib eye w/korean sauce, pickled radish, spicy Mayo, jalapeño and chili sauce) I enjoyed this although again questioned if it was fresh or past due. Something about how the beef looked. Beef was not warm so it was definitely sitting in the fridge or idk where- wondering for how long. -Summer Roll: (shrimp, crab stick, cucumber, avocado, red onion, lettuce wrapped with rice paper) my friend said she enjoyed this although she did have trouble eating this with chopsticks and a fork. Almost looked like mini burritos/hand rolls if anything rather than sushi rolls. She enjoyed the sauce that came with it. My stomach was not agreeable with this meal unfortunately and I did suffer some stomach aches while trying to finish up my meal. This was my first tell tale sign that there may be something up with the quality of the sushi. Will probably not be back.

Fireman Roll

Honestly was super impressed with the size of the rolls and the freshness. You can tell they are very authentic, the rice is super soft and fresh. I got the fireman roll, k1 roll and salmon avocado. Everything was absolutely delish. The rolls stand out to me compared to competitors due to side, freshness and authenticity. I had seen a lot of recommendations to come here so was excited to try. I got take out and the process was easy. The menu is a bit pricey but worth it for the quality. Will be back! Worth the drive.

A hidden gem on Long Island. It's Just my favorite place to eat sushi on Long Island, great service all the time, fish always tastes fresh. Can never go wrong

Flying Dragon roll and the green Devil roll (mango instead of asparagus)
Paula L.

The food was good. Pretty solid, but nothing so special. We ordered the green devil roll and it was overpowered by the jalapeño. the pieces of tuna were very good, but it was outdone by the jalapeño. The flying dragon was basic.

Fresh is the only word that matters in Japanese restaurants, and Kurofune delivered. My family and some friends came with a large group which they accommodated and which gave me the opportunity to try lots of different dishes since we ate family style. First, I liked everything that I tried, you won't be disappointed if you randomly point at the menu without reading it or get confused by the Japanese names of the menu. For appetizers, try the Spicy Edamame, you'll be surprised at the perfect balance of spice, hot enough to give a burst of flavor but not too hot to burn. The description of the Squid Salad doesn't give justice to this dish. This was one of my favorite dishes. Also try the Rising Sun. The rolls were fresh, my favorites were the Jalapeño Salmon and Halloween Roll, but really the freshness at Kurofune makes everything so much better. My youngest wasn't very adventurous, so she got the chicken teriyaki and described it as "mouthwatering". I finished with ginger ice cream. It was like eating a creamy ginger snap. You have to try it. I also got to try the Fried Ice Cream which was great! Just to wrap up my comments if you are planning a date. Parking was easy. Atmosphere was cozy, not too loud, and not eerily quiet. Chairs were designed with craftsmanship from an era before simplicity meant cheap. I really enjoyed everything even with a large group. Sorry for the pictures. I was mostly done with the meal before thinking, "I should definitely write a review for this place."

Incredible sushi roll selections.

My daughter was craving sushi for her 20th birthday dinner, so off we went to Kurofune, which had been on my "want to try" list for awhile. We were not disappointed. Excellent sake menu (we enjoyed our toast!), perfect with the amazingly ethereal fluke sashimi and spicy squid appetizers. For mains, we each chose a different sushi roll, and I cannot say which was best, they were all amazing. Nice mochi dessert, too!

My family and I came here tonight right after a drive home from our ski week getaway. We ordered the Sushi and Sashimi for 2 combo plus the Caribbean Roll. The combo comes with soup and salad. The food was so fresh and delicious!! It's the best it's ever been! We have been here many times in the past. Our waiter was professional, helpful and personable! We talked about Tokyo as I hope to visit there one day! He gave us great tips! Then the new owner came out and introduced herself to us. She was so nice!! We ended our meal with the fried ice cream. Everything was so fresh and delicious!! I loved the Caribbean Roll. Everything was great! I recommend this place if you like sushi! We will be back again.

We ordered curbside due to the Covid-19 pandemic bc my tastebuds are screaming for freedom! Tired of cooking at home! Tip: To beat the dinner rush... we ordered ahead and everything was prepared within 30 mins! That's calling it in, driving to the parking lot. Food was all prepared and given through the side door! Everything was amazing.. just as it is when we dined here! I'm a huge fan! Their shrimp rolls are always excellent) my kid ate all of her California rolls! Love the chicken katsu! Miso soup is always great! My other party ate her entire tempura udon! I will be back soon!

While her cakes are absolutely delicious, the ordering process is unnecessarily difficult. Customer service is a big part of the overall experience, and unfortunately, the communication alone makes me hesitant to spend my money there again. A more accessible and customer-friendly process would go a long way in preventing misunderstandings and improving the overall experience.

I was so enticed by the whimsical, atypical flavors and the bright saturated colors. I finally ordered the 5 pack and chose these flavors: 'Cotton Candy', 'Strawberry Crumb', 'Chocolate Banana', 'American Dreamsicle' and 'Italian Rainbow Cookie'. I loved the way each donut was wrapped in plastic and placed so intentionally in its packaging - a sleek gold-colored box with a sticker bearing her logo (a 'C' for Chana that doubles as a donut with purple frosting on it and sprinkles). My boyfriend and I did a "tasting" together trying small ¼ pieces of each flavor. The 'Cotton Candy' (pink frosting with swirls of blue) had a subtle cotton candy flavor but was very sweet, the 'Strawberry Crumb' (bright red) was tart, delicious and one of my favorites. The 'Rainbow Italian Cookie' (covered in tiny green, red & white sprinkles) tasted just like the real cookie; so enjoyable with a pronounced almond flavor. The 'American Deamsicle' (covered in blue, red & white round sprinkles) tasted like orange and was pretty good. My absolute favorite was the 'Chocolate Banana' (a striking yellow with brown swirls), which had a more tolerable sweetness than the others. Overall, I enjoyed the donuts: the taste, the uniqueness and the colors. My only feedback is that I would like the donuts less sweet, so it is easier to eat a whole donut. I would rate Chana's Donuts 3.8 out of 5 stars, and I would definitely order again to try new flavors, or to get the 'Chocolate Banana' or 'Strawberry Crumb' flavors again :)
