    Da best.

This is a much needed/belated review that needs to happen right now. You see I've been to YAAAS TEA in Stony Brook many many times and because my first trip was a Yelp Elite Event, I completely forgot to actually write up a regular review after that. Welp, there's not much to say other than the usual fantastical info that comes from a place like this. Now if you don't know about bubble tea, these days it's best to get acquainted by hitting up YT and this Stony Brook location is the perfect place to start. Located in a strip mall right in the heart of so many things, it might be initially overlooked, but just know YAAAS is one of many Long Island storefronts. There's nothing fancy about the interior and it's mostly just some bubble tea wording and a few tables, but the place is kept clean and there are several ordering screens which is always nice as it makes it easy for you to figure out what you want. What do you want? Bubbles! Well actually, not every drink at YAAAS needs to have boba, but if you're going to get bubbles, this is by far THE BEST spot to do it. Why? They make them fresh every hour. This ensures that you're never eating gooey, chalky, bubbles that I've unfortunately come across at other places. At YT you're destined for high quality. Plus the drinks themselves are delicious, whether they're milk teas, regular teas, or even their coffee varieties. Lastly, the staff here seems to be pretty friendly and helpful which is always nice, and as a whole, YAAAS has a strong understanding of doing things for the customer. They have daily deals, a reward system, and you can even find a nice Costco gift card deal at a few locations. It doesn't get much better than that. Overall, YAAAS TEA is just so legit. There are several other bubble tea spots around the area near this location, but if you want the real deal, come here. I'll continue doing that until my stomach is full of boba!

I was leaving AMC theater and saw Yaaas Teas open? Be still my heart... Now Yaaas Teas is a big deal on Long Island. Kelly Zhou, a well respected business leader has opened countless businesses across Long Island. I asked her at a Yelp event, come to Stony Brook! Well, today that request has been answered. Yaaas Tea has opened (Almost) and is ready to serve! I must point out, Yaaas Tea makes a superior product. Freshly made boba (hourly!) and drink combinations that will have you coming back again and again. I walk in and see Kelly behind the counter training the employees. She glances up and comes to say hi. I give her a fist bump and wish her congratulations on her newest location. She introduces me to the manager / owners of the Stony Brook location. I tell them I'll be here the most because I live in the area. I'm going to order my usual drink but I'm recommended to try something new. I chose the Iced Caramel Milk Tea . It's made in record time! Now I have to shake it?? I start doing a dance, everyone laughs. I say my goodbyes and wish everyone much success in their latest venture. Long Island, this is a hometown business that's growing. Yaaas Tea makes a damn good drink. I highly recommend getting their app and stopping in to try their amazing products.

Welcome Yaaas Tea to Stony Brook! It was really nice to meet Chiruta & Nimisha Patel and Family. They are very welcoming and friendly. It's next to AMC Movie theater and Meet Noodle. Plenty of parking spots, plus they open early. We came during their first day of their soft opening and yesterday on their grand opening. Missed the ribbon cutting ceremony...boo! We got to try 2 variations of the croffles samples: banana nutella and egg with cheese. The banana nutella was good, though I was surprised I liked the egg and cheese more. I ordered a taro milk tea with less ice and less sugar yesterday. It was very refreshing. Will come back next time to say Hi.

Came here for some bubble tea. The staff was really friendly. You can order from tablets and customize the drinks however you want. The passionfruit lemonade was pretty good. The earl gray milk tea i had ask for 50% sugar and it was still really sweet. I wonder if they accidentally added the full amount instead. I love the take out bag. I notice they had cookies and croofles that can be made to order. Hopefully next time i will get to try those.

Iced Vanilla Latte, Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso BOBO

Grand Opening today! Very excited to have Yaaas Tea in Stony Brook! Very clean, modern aesthetic. Photo op friendly. The staff was very nice and greeted us as we walked in. We ordered the Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso BOBO, and the Iced Vanilla Latte. Both delicious, glad they're here! Excited to be regulars !

Went to their opening. Excited that we're getting more bubble places opening up in the area. The brown sugar drink was quite good and creamy, though I'd probably go with less sugar next time rather than regular sugar. The boba itself is very chewy and obviously fresh and well/made. My only critique of this place would be their menu options, which was quite limited and did not have a lot of the drinks I'm used to seeing (I.e. oolong milk tea, thai tea, etc). Also did not have a ton of fruit tea options/toppings like the jellies. Drinks seem to be a bit pricier too compared to others in the area ($7+starting price before topping additions). Overall I think the quality is there, but I would definitely like to see more options on the menu!

I was welcomed by the staff as soon as I walked in. It was a great atmosphere and the young lady that helped me with my order was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The young man that made my drinks did a great job. The drinks tasted great, I finished the taro bubble tea before I remembered to take a picture.

    Brow Sugar Shaken Espresso Bobo

Super friendly service and tasty drinks. Fast service and drinks are made to order. I recommend the brown sugar espresso bobo and the mango milk tea with coconut milk! Boba is the best around. Clean and modern shop. Great addition to the neighborhood!

My last visit (Friday afternoon) I ordered a Medium Wintermelon Milk Tea (you can get it without the milk), Grilled Chicken Garlic Noodles and a Grilled Shrimp Rice Bowl. Everything was delicious and very flavorful though I felt the Garlic Noodles were a bit on the saltier side and the Wintermelon Milk Tea was a bit too sweet (and I have a sweet tooth). There were a lot of flavorful chicken pieces and the shrimp came with about 7-8 pieces, also very flavorful. They have 3 different sauces that I was given since I was eating there and just returned it to the counter once done. My favorite of the 3 was the more liquidy one though they all tasted great. The place is located in a strip mall with a lot of free parking. There's some seating inside and one small table outside. It's spacious and clean. They have great background music playing and their unisex bathroom is spacious and clean as well. The food came out in a reasonable time and the staff (I'm assuming maybe the owners) were also very pleasant.

The other night we asked our nanny, who has lived in the neighborhood for a lot longer than us, to suggest a place for great Chinese. To our surprise she suggested Tai Chi. We were like, what? The bubble tea place? But she wasn't kidding, so we gave it a try. And WOW. We weren't disappointed! This is going to be our go-to place for great Chinese food standards. When I asked my daughter, "when did that get there?" She responded, "it's new and I hear it's pretty good. We should try it if you're in the mood for bubble tea." Once inside, there is nice seating if you are looking to sit a bit. Looking up at the many choices on the board, the folks behind the counter immediately asked if we were ready to order or needed assistance. As I inquired about the differences between the drinks I was torn between, my knowledgeable server thoughtfully explained the drinks and how I could also customize my sweetness level. The high level of customer service for a mall shop was quite refreshing and more of a reason I would come back. I ultimately chose Sweet Sunshine: mangos and lychee mixed with jasmine green tea, with lychee jelly. I had stopped in to grab a menu from the place next door and discovered this gem as I was pulling out. Peking Duck??? The sign caught my attention and I just had to check it out. Sometimes you just don't know where you find the next great place. Anyway, I met the owner June. What a lovely person. We talked about their take in regional Chinese cuisines and their strict adherence to authentic ( Sorry no beef with brocolli, egg rolls, or orange chicken). Instead it was a menu pulling from the best of Beijing, X'ian, Hunan, and Szechuan cuisines. Oh my goodness, where do I start?? Ok..first time time..had to try the X'ian Spicy Lamb noodles. Where do I begin??? All of their wheat ( not rice) noodles are hand pulled right there. That makes a HUGE difference. Chewy, springy, and so delicious. June told me the traditional version came with lamb intestine too ( not a fan of intestines so thank you for the heads up). These were so damn good. Spicy and tingly, hearty and delicious. The spice was the good kind, the kind that encourages you dig back in inspite of the heat ( much like the first time I had real Pad Thai at the old Jai Ya in Elmhurst). It was an explosion of flavor. I was hooked. I went back later that day to order the Peking Duck Dinner for my friends and got the Spicy Beef Noodle soup to take home for my son. Again, those same amazing noodles and the most flavorful broth plus soft and melt in your mouth beef shin and tendon. Another keeper. 2 days later I brought in the Peking Duck dinner for my friends. First out of the gate...these came with homemade pancakes like they should. Bao are for roast pork, not peking duck. The duck was expertly sliced, and was juicy not dry. My friends were blown away. The full dinner came with scallion pancakes, cold poached chicken in a chili oil and vinegar sauce, cold noodles with sesame sauce, and sauteed bok choy with garlic. I've ordered it twice already and really want to get it right at the restaurant when the crispy skin is at its crispiest. Everything I ordered from here hit the authenticity I crave and were so on point. Gotta recommend the spicy lamb burgers too. If you've had at X'ians famous at any of their locations, you will be so happy to not have to go the Flushing for this delight. I promise to post pictures. Trust me on this...you want to go here. Run..do not walk.
