We traveled out to LI to visit my MIL. Since we didn't see her for the holiday, we decided to stay in, trim the tree, and spend QT with each other. We decided to order food so we didn't have to travel in the cold weather. Iron Ramen came highly recommended is searches for delivery. We ordered some ramen and apps. We used a delivery app and the food took forever to arrive despite paying extra money for a speedier delivery. With that being said, some of the food was still warm when it got to us, and it was tasty for the most part. Both my husband and MIL ordered their Gyodon, with beef brisket and seasoned egg over rice. I opted for the Iron Tonkotsu Ramen and my kiddo got the Chicken Shoyu Ramen. All of the mains were great. No one had any complaints. We also had their spring rolls which were bland and hard, their shrimp lollipops which were OK, and their crispy shrimp shumai which were OK. The appetizers were kind of cold so they weren't as good. The location of the restaurant was a little far but the food also took over 90 minutes to arrive despite our requesting a speedy delivery with extra charge. This is my first time ordering from the joint. I got the curry katsu-don rice bowl which is breaded fried chicken cutlet with rice and curry sauce. It was kind of hot when I went inside to order to-go so I'm not sure if the AC is broken! For the food, I ordered two rice bowls and a ramen (to share, not all for myself, haha)! They definitely pack the bowls with a lot of protein and rice, so you do get your money's worth. The Kara-Age rice bowl costs $11.50. It comes with a lot of fried chicken, some seaweed and ginger with rice. They also provide a spicy Mayo with teriyaki sauce as a dip, it pairs well with the Kara-age. The Kara-age itself was very crispy! They used salt and pepper as the flour with some sesame which enhanced the flavor. I love that it wasn't too salty and it wasn't too oily since it is fried chicken. I definitely think it was worth the price for the amount of chicken you get. The Kara-age ramen costs $13. If you order take out, the provide the soup separately so that your soup does not get soggy! I like that the soup paired well with everything in the ramen. I would suggest to eat the Kara-age separately from the ramen unless you want soggy chicken with your ramen :) Lastly, the Gyudon rice bowl costs $13 and comes with an egg, some beef, seaweed, ginger and rice. The beef itself is a little sweet, which I personally liked. They also packed this bowl with a lot of protein so if you eat a lot this is perfect for you! Aside from ramen and rice bowls, they also have a variety of appetizers such as gyozas as well as fruit teas that are unique like cucumber honey tea. It seems like everything is freshly made there.
