I was lured back here by all the Tiktok ads roaming across my For You page talking about their new matcha menu. A mostly chè place with a matcha menu? I had to check it out to see if the manufactured hype was worth it. And well... If you're a matcha noob, get it. If you're a matcha snob, then definitely look elsewhere. I got the White Champaca while my baby cousin got their Tokyo Fog. Both drinks had a light matcha flavor despite their pretty green hue and lacked the distinct flavoring differentiating them from a plain matcha latte. Where are the distinct floral notes that signify that these drinks are White Champaca and Tokyo Fog? They're overwhelmed by the milkiness and sweetness. Anyone who wants to experience the matcha for themselves, remember to Adjust Accordingly (this isn't the type of place where they ask). However, they're not bad-tasting as a random milk tea. If you never had matcha before or don't like its distinct tea flavor, Bambu might actually be the place for you. Nowadays every drink place, boba bar, and pop-up are looking to cash in on the current matcha bubble while it's still hot, but you must make sure that your product is worth going out of the way for. Because guess what? A lot of your competition is literally right around the corner... and better (marginally). Unfortunately, as a long time Bambu goer, their other offerings are starting to lack too. My other family members got their usual order of Thai Tea and a Bơ Dầm, and they were surprisingly disappointing. Their Thai tea is usually punchy and strong, making it a family favorite, but this time it was super milky and watery. Their long-time classic, the Smashed Avocado, was unusually bland and missing many of its typical toppings leaving it also visually lackluster. For $11 for a large (!!!), you can't have poor quality control like this. What could possibly be going on behind the scenes at Bambu that their products are going downhill by the day instead of improving? Especially when they're trying to drive new customers into their space via a newly established internet presence. Service was fast and I ordered a pennywort drink. Loved it and it is a refreshing drink. Pennywort is a plant from Asia that tastes similar to wheatgrass. Ingredients were fresh, plentiful, and very much enjoyed. Our requests were executed well. 5/5 stars overall but more so for Kayden. He was patient, friendly, and handled the shop extremely well. Do NOT go to this location. I usually go to the aborn location but it was closed so I ordered from here and they barely put any of the add ins. For example if I order a coconut juice from the aborn location they put atleast 5 pieces of coconut meat in there, this place added one measly little piece. Do not take it as a complain. It's just my personal sweet taste because this dessert has to be sweet otherwise it's just so bland. I am now living in sacto. And we got very few stores here. I always order #2 Bambu Combo but they just now load it with mostly beans instead of mixing it well with fruit jellies and pandan jellies. If they ran out of pandan jelly then they should inform the customer so we know not to order this drink and choose another one. There barely were any pandan jellies or fruit jellies at all. The bambu favorite I will come back for anytime because of how different this drink was compared to drinks my culture, and the sea salt coffee was unique in the way that it was strong and had a nice sweet and salty foam. If you are an avid avocado lover like me, I highly recommend the Smashed avocado dessert style drink. It's sweetened with Condensed milk and topped with heaps of pearls, coffee jelly and combo jelly. Let's not talk about the calories yet Bambu special has a base of coconut water and is loaded with real coconut, longan, Pandan jelly and basil seeds. Lighter version compared to smashed avocado but still an excellent summer drink! Plus this location accepts credit cards unlike few other Bambu locations. I saw this combo yogurt parfait drink at a different Bambu location and thought it looked so good so I got it. * Combo Yogurt Parfait: The drink is $8 so it's more on the expensive side. The size of the drink is pretty big but I'm not sure if it's $8 big. The flavor of the drinks was good and has a tart flavor. It's not completely sour and has a sweet touch to it. I'm not sure what the green, yellow, and red colors are all around the cup but I'm guessing it's flavored syrup. There are fruit bits at the top which adds more flavor and texture to the drink. I would get it again if I was craving something that is fruity and has a tart flavor. I appreciated how fast the drink was made. I probably waited around 3 minutes for my drink. This is probably my favorite location of Bambu. It is right off the freeway and they actually accept cards at this location. Two of my favorite things to get here are the coconut milk tea and the Vietnamese che. Vietnamese che is shaved ice desserts with various jelly or bean toppings mixed with mainly coconut milk or juice. For the coconut milk tea, this location makes it exactly the way I love it which is with coconut milk and they use light tea that keeps the color and the flavor of the coconut milk. Other locations use syrups or black tea and it changes the whole taste of the coconut milk tea. I like to substitute regular ice with shaved ice because it takes the drink to a more refreshing vibe. I also love the Vietnamese che with pandan jelly and red tapioca. The red tapioca has a little bit of a water chestnut inside so it gives the tapioca some texture. This dessert is fun to eat and satisfies my sweet tooth. Their shaved ice desserts are perfect for any weather if you're craving something different from ice cream or frozen yogurt. Big props to the staff that always allows you to either omit or add something to your drink with no extra charge sometimes. Always ask them first before you place your order. They also accept Five Stars so you can get rewards for visiting frequently. Yay! read more

My favorite topping inside is the bánh lọt which is the long green jelly. It has a nice chew to it. This drink is for all the sweet tooth milk tea drinkers. Keeping the ice into this drink is a must because it will be too sweet and lukewarm without the ice. Putting this drink in the fridge or leaving it out overnight will cause the toppings inside to be stale and a bit hard, so I recommend drinking it the fresher the better. There's no other place that I've tried that has done this drink the best compared to Bambu. So YES, if you are wondering what dessert to try out of all the dessert options, I would go for #10 because it's fun and sweet y'all. #1 isn't bad either, it's lighter and more refreshing with the coconut topping.
