With all of the boba and matcha competition in San Jose AND THIS PLAZA ALONE, I grew out of my desires for Tastea over the years. However, I was enticed to come visit after they announced a new Avocado Coconut Dream and Mango Coconut Dream! A friend told me this reminded her of ginataan, and I can see that!! A fun similarity. Super fresh mangos, which were sweet and ripe. The mochi cubes were YUMMY! I loved the texture. The sago and coconut tie the whole drink together. read more

Came here on a toasty day and the perfect mix of crispy and plump popcorn chicken with a refreshing and cooling avocado beverage brought us smiles and satisfaction. This fine establishment offers a great ambience for individuals wanting to meet up have a coffee date, a meet up, and a place to study. This is a nice place to relax inside the store and also providing outdoor seating. Perfect to cool down in a very hot weather. this location also offers many different dishes to snack on, and many different beverages satisfy your cravings. although in a competitive location, this quick stop is a go to spot for snacks and drinks. this location allows easily finding parking and spacious for gatherings and meet ups. stopped by this location in the late afternoon to grab a quick drink before an appointment and ordered a lychee black tea. The drink itself was good, and there was no wait. Unfortunately, the customer service was nonexistent. The employee who took my order came across dismissive, the whole interaction felt unwelcoming - ignored me after taking my orders, as well as when I got my drink from her. Customer service is just as important, hope the staff can provide a more positive experience to others! read more

I got a boo-tea shaker sub jelly for boba and it was a little lacking tea flavor. However the boba was fresh and chewy, which I did not anticipate because I came in around 8:00. Dear John, you clearly didn't review the portion size for your popcorn chicken order since it was brought up by a previous Yelper. Because what is this? How is this acceptable? You guys over charge for this item and this is how you're sending the orders out to customers? I had maybe 7-8 decent pieces while everything else was just crumbs. This is false pricing. It's happen twice before and this is the last time I'll let it happen because it'll never change. Either lower your prices to match the cheapskate portion or just remove all your snacks. And stop over frying your food to the point where they're so dried and crunchy for future consumers. read more

Catered 3 jugs of milk and fruit tea: - Peach Me Sweetea - Mango Milk Tea - Matcha Thai All of it came out to ~$170, which was a bit cheaper comparable to other milk tea places I've catered. The flavor is also much creamier, while retaining the aromatic tea! It was such a hit with our event! Everyone kept grabbing seconds and to-go. Even some asking to take the whole jug home. Our order came with large cups of honey boba, puréed mangos, and puréed strawberries. The most popular drink was the mango milk tea! I was swarmed with meetings at the time I picked up the order. A very kind gentleman who worked there helped carry the jugs for me while I was in a frenzy. A+++ service!! read more

Wanted a quick stop for boba before driving home to South Country Santa Cruz. So many places to close from do we decided on Tastea this time. I ordered my drink 27 minutes ago and am still waiting. So much for getting home at a reasonable time. At about 16 min in, they gave us our order but had put Oreo in both teas instead of just in my son's. I don't like Oreo in my drinks (weird mushiness) so I asked to switch for what I had originally ordered. Unfortunately, though I already checked in with them once, they made more than a dozen others' tea that came in way after we did before starting to correct mine. Now they are out of boba, I think. My son has already finished his and is waiting in the car. My Apple transaction now says it went through 30 minutes ago... but now they just handed me a drink that again, isn't what I asked for. I give up. I'll drink it. Won't see ya here. read more

This isn't my go-to Tastea location to visit but since I was in the area and my fave seasonal drink was in season... WHY NOT?? My daughter is absolutely obsessed with watermelon and tbh, Tastea's Watermelon Heaven is bomb af, so this is 100% a double win in my book. We arrived with a young gentleman running the establishment. Placing the order and the wait time for our drink was easy and so very quick. I made the request for light sweetness level and the drink was still very sweet- in a great way!!! This just proves how naturally sweet & ripe the watermelon was. 5/5 stars. read more

I've been going to Tastea periodically over the years whenever I'm craving a fruit flavored drink and I'm in Vietnam Town. Their drinks are ridiculously sweet but I do like their flavor combinations and topping choices, including their boba which is green for whatever reason. I received a notification on their app regarding their current Pandan Series and was intrigued by their Pandan Oreo Smoothie since I like pandan and Oreo and was curious to taste how they are together. I was about to place my order on the app but it said they were out of boba so I ended up ordering in person in case it was actually available. I arrived at the store on a weekend around lunchtime and the parking situation was bad as expected, though there wasn't a line at Tastea. I ordered the Pandan Oreo Smoothie with zero sugar since I anticipated the drink already being sweet (the barista confirmed the sweetness just adds sugar and not flavoring to the drink), but also noticed a small sign saying they didn't have boba because their "machine was broken" and I wasn't too bummed about this. The drink was ready in about five minutes and I was able to enjoy it at one of the tables in the shop; this location is not too big but there are a few tables available for use inside and outside. The drink had a nice pandan flavor with the crunchiness and flavor of the Oreo which I felt worked really well together. However, as I continued consuming my drink I noticed the pandan flavor become less and less and I was pretty much left with blended ice and what seemed to be non-dairy creamer. Unfortunately, I probably would not get this drink again and I'd stick with one of their drinks with more fruit. I also think Tastea should reevaluate its sweetness percentage customizations to realistically match the overall sweetness of its drinks. read more

10/31/2025 came here specifically for the green and purple boba BUT unfortunately they prob sold out. Giving this place a bit of credit for opening late on a holiday. The drink was better this time, but the boba was a little too soft.. read more

We were at this shopping area next to tastea and saw the crowd. Whe we look closely, it is their 2nd anniversary and has BOGO for specialteas drink and if you spend certain amount you will get free gift. We were targeting to spend 15 dollars to get the shopping bag. Line was long and slow. When it was our turn, as we didn't pay attention on which drink qualify for BOGO, we hsve to redo the order. After we ordered our drinks were ready pretty quickly. Happy to get nice back and the drinks were good the vietnamese coffee is on the light side. read more

Really enjoy coming here after work to pick up a drink and/or some food. Something I really love about Tastea is not only their wonderful drinks..but at every location I've been too they make the drinks consistent. My go to is the Peach Me Sweetea and their popcorn chicken. Pretty good..sometimes I feel like they skimp on the popcorn chicken..and I only feel this way because at times I get a lot when I order a large and at times I get very little when I order the large. Maybe i'll order a small next time and see how much they give me. Occasionally I will get their fries and they're great too. Very crispy!!! I try to always order through the app before coming here..usually when I order through the app it's done by the time I get here. The employees here are friendly too so that's a plus!!! read more

One of my favorite Tastea locations. Service is extremely friendly and it's a great location where if you grab a drink, you can definitely walk around Vietnam Town easily checking out the shops and restaurants as well. One of my favorite drinks to get is the, watermelon heaven and let me tell you, it is a watermelon lover's dream. It's perfectly sweet and icy for those hot summer days. It feels like you're eating the perfect ripe watermelon in a drinkable form. I hope one day they can expand to a bigger location within Vietnam town and offer more seating. There are other drink shops in Vietnam town that upped their game with plenty of seating and ambiance. Nevertheless, I still love getting the drinks here and especially their chicken. It goes perfectly well with any of the drinks. But yes, if you're craving something I see and sweet, run to Tastea and get the Watermelon Heaven because it's only available during summer time. read more

Lots of parking available and located in VietnamTown -- perfect to grab and walk around. First time here!! There was no line when I went and the place is super clean. I ordered the Sunset Peach and Vietnamese coffee. The drinks were so refreshing and tasty. The sunset peach comes with green mango bits that I probably could do without, but other than that, it is one of my new favorite boba drinks! The Vietnamese coffee was delicious as well. They also offer food that looks pretty good such as french fries and popcorn chicken. I will have to give them a try the next time I come! read more

On January 9th, around 4-5 PM, I came in to purchase a drink and had one of the worst customer service experiences I've had here. The female employee working at that time did not acknowledge me at all--no greeting, no basic courtesy--and her attitude was very rude and unprofessional. On top of that, the drink was made extremely poorly. It tasted completely different and much worse compared to the drinks I usually get from other staff members on previous visits. This experience was very disappointing and unacceptable. Due to the rude service and lack of quality, I will not be returning. Management seriously needs to address staff behavior and service standards. read more

The service was really fast and the staff were really friendly, asking if I needed anything else. The drinks were good as usual but my honey boba was a bit hard which was disappointing since it's usually warm and fresh whenever I get it. I'd honestly skip out on the food, like what another reviewer said, it was mid. The fries and popcorn chicken were really fresh and gave a hefty amount but the popcorn chicken is definitely not worth the price. As for the fries, they were good, but they should use a stronger bbq seasoning or add a bit more bbq seasoning to enhance the flavor since it does lack in bbq flavor. read more

Vietnamese coffee is available here. I forgot to get my husband Vietnamese coffee at one of the restaurants in this big plaza so we went here to get that for him for the road. Sizeable and strong. They have other milk tea selections. Savory fried bites and they have sharp chopsticks at the end - it's like toothpicks, which is very suitable to their bites so one can poke at the snacks and munch and crunch it delightfully. Tastea, another tea place located in Vietnam Town. Clean store with a few tables to sit at. Pretty busy at 10:20 pm on a Saturday night. First time visiting this location. I've been mostly to the Berryessa location. I am trying this new-ish drink. Horchata Crunch: Blended horchata with cinnamon cereal topping. It was creamy, thick, cinnamon, & vanilla. A new(er) Tastea in Vietnam Town! This spot can get busy depending on times of day, but that's pretty expected for it's location. Parking can be extremely limited but if you're good with a taking a stroll, there's a larger parking lot a block or so away. We came late night on a weekday, just before closing so there wasn't a wait fortunately. I ordered my go-to Peach Me Sweetea, and it tasted just as expected! I've always found that the drinks at Tastea tend to be on the sweeter side, so a 50% sweetness level was just the right amount for me. We ordered their larger size; the boba to drink ratio could've been a bit better, since I ran out of the topping faast before even finishing the drink. The location is fairly small but there's still a few tables and chairs available if you want to enjoy your drinks inside. read more

This Tastea is located in Vietnam town, a few doors down from CA Bake House and opened towards the end of June. While visiting my husband's cousin, I decided to stop by this Tastea before heading to her house so that I could get a nice hot drink. I made an order through the app (so that I can earn points for my purchase). I ended up purchasing: Hot Matcha White Rabbit Drink (16 oz), $6.30- There was no option to modify the sweetness level and am not sure if additional sugar is added but I made a note in the free text box to have no sugar added. I thought this drink was at the right sweetness level. The drink was creamy and nice and hot. But I did not feel that it tasted like the white rabbit candy, just a creamy matcha drink. My drink wasn't promised at time of pick up but I only waited another 8 minutes when I arrived, which wasn't a big deal, especially since I was not in a hurry. Service was friendly. I liked that there is a pick up window, like there is at the location in Arcadia (in So. Cal). I also like that there is a nice outdoor (covered) seating area right out front and can see this being a nice place to meet with friends for drinks and catch up. Based on this experience, it was good and hope my next future visit will be just good. read more

I love Tastea and the option to be able to order a 32oz drink. I was craving Tastea and decided to give this location a try, but boy did I regret it. We order our usual Matcha Coffee with Boba and Popcorn Chicken. Popcorn chicken for $10, I expect a decent amount. Not a lot, but not too little. Just the right amount for the drive home. I swear, it only came with 6 bite size pieces and crumbs! My wife and were flabbergasted. The sauce itself took up half the box. We finished most of the popcorn chicken before we even left the plaza. Mind you we only started eating after I left the parking spot which was in front of Tastea. Matcha Coffee, the drink that made me fall in love with Tastea and it has been consistent in taste in every other location except for this one. I thought it was me so I asked my wife to try it and we both agree it tasted off. It did not taste like the usual and had a nasty after taste. To say the least, it was not taste-tea. read more

My group came for grand opening weekend BOGO and the line was out the store but it goes by pretty quickly. About 20min wait but drinks came out in about 5min so service was amazing! Store is inside the large viet plaza with a bunch of parking and other shops. There wasn't really any indoor seating but some benches outside. Prices are a bit expensive ngl! 20oz (reg boba is 24oz and smal is 16oz so this is in between but cost the same as the reg size at other places). A bit more worth it with the BOGO! 7/10 Jasmine milk tea - average milk tea. Would not go here for this. It is pretty standard in flavor and not worth trying either. 7/10 Wintermelon milk tea - good flavor! Only downside was it was insanely sweet. Got the medium sweetness and it tasted at least 125%. We asked to adjust the sweetness to lower but they said the wintermelon syrup comes as is so lower sweetness would also mean less flavor. 6/10 Thai tea - tea flavor was very light sadly 5/10 Matcha Thai tea Stevia - not sure if it was the stevia but flavor was not great at all. Super light so I couldn't tell if I was drinking Thai or matcha. it was just like a bad combo that ended up kind of ended up tasting like a bad generic milk tea. 6/10 Taro milk tea - also like the Thai it was just really light in flavor. 3.5 stars overall but BOGO + amazing service overall I bumped it up. Also, in the past I usually order the smoothies/frozen or fruit drinks. (Matcha smoothie hella bomb!) so I'd come back for anything but the milk teas. Also pricing little weird: 20oz ~ $6 32oz ~ $7.75 Jug (1gal=128oz) ~ $42 (not worth it if you do the math) read more

Came here around 6 PM with my cousin for a drink and snacks. We got two watermelon drinks and fries. It was my first time in this location, and the plaza can get busy on weekends and weeknights. It's in a central location to the main area of the plaza. While there's a huge concentration of boba shops here, I think Tastea has its tried-and-true unique drinks that people always crave. The service was good. They were patient and attentive to us. Our order took 10 minutes to come out. Our fries were hot and crispy. The watermelon drink, Watermelon Heaven, was refreshing! It tasted like a freshly squeezed watermelon with some more tea or juice added in. If you love watermelon, it just tastes like the fruit but in liquid form.
