I am in love with some Bam Bam! That may even be an understatement. My favorites are the Korean steak tacos. The rib eye is perfectly marinated in a kalbi type sauce. The meat is lean and not fatty at all. The kimchee gives it that perfect bite with out being overpowering- plus, it makes it healthy in my book (insert humor)- kimchee is loaded with nutrients and probiotics. The lettuce the top it with is super fresh and abundant, helping me get in my dark leafy greens while totally enjoying some sinful tasting tacos. They also top it with a bit of a sesame glaze that is tasty. The quesadilla is also great...very similar to the taco but with cheese. I never deny cheese. However, the tacos win in my heart or shall I say, stomach. Another showstopper is the Bam Bam burger! Shaved rib-eye marinated in the same" marinade of perfection" as the tacos forms the patty. No ground meat here. This is a true steak burger. Topped with melted cheese, fresh pineapple, sriracha and local Chilttepica salsa. It is a flavor bomb. I have never been able to pick it up and eat it like a burger though. I knife and fork it. There are many other things I want to try like the noodles, the burrito with the noodles, the insane fries featuring more kimchee and the talk of the interwebs the ramen burger!!!!!!!!! Yes ramen burger, food trends are slowly trickling down to the old pueblo. Their truck may not be the prettiest, the credit card machine may not always work. But the food is worth it. Disclaimer: I shamefully admit I have never been to former Mafoocoo- not for lack of interest. Just give Bam Bam a try. Big fan of the Mexican/Korean combination so therefore I was excited to give this a try. I especially love the idea of supporting these small, local businesses. Ordered a Bam Bam Burger since that seemed to be the popular item. I can't say it was impressive. Meat (what there was of it) was dry and just lacked flavor. Pineapple salsa was a nice touch but was overwhelming when there was no other flavors other than a tad bit of spice from the Siracha dressing. The 4 cheeses were non-existent. Burger just didn't live up to the $8 price. Disappointing. read more

I caught this truck at the end of lunch hour so and the burger wasn't on the menu anymore (I think the owner read all of the complaints on Yelp and removed it from the menu). So I went with the bulgogi tacos. I thought they were great - alot of meat, seasoned well and topped with kimchi. You get three tacos for $8 so not the best deal in town but not bad. I will definitely have to try to Yakisoba noodles and the Kamikaze Hot Dog next time out. read more

I can't comment on anything other than the tofu tacos and this burrito that has noodles and tofu in it (forgot the name- if its the tofu or the veggie option). with that, the tofu tacos are amazing! a little steep for the quantity (should be a little lower considering its tofu and not meat) but they're so good that they're worth the price. the burrito i had would have been great with flavor/sauce but there were too many noodles in it. essentially, it was a tortilla wrapped around yakisoba noodles. too many carbs and not enough veggies/variety. tofu tacos are the way to go! read more

Oh man was this yummy. We had the bam-bam burger, kimchi quesadilla and one of each of the Korean tacos. I'd add a picture but after the first bite I went in to grub mode and was totally focused on enjoying my food. The bam-bam burger had great steak flavor, spicy sweet goodness rounded out with a great bun. So many burgers fail because the bun is dry and nasty. Not the bam-bam. The roll was some sort of brioche style roll that was chewy, added the right amount of bread and added to the overall flavor profile. The kimchi quesadilla never made it to the table. I ate it out of the container hunched over the counter, Philly cheesesteak style. Delicious. The tacos were all yummy. Cabbage, sesame seeds, Korean BBQ sauce and green onion. I liked the pork the most but they were all yummy. Corn tortillas rounded out the flavor nicely. Hunt these guys down and give them a try. Did I mention it was affordable. I was able to check out Bam Bam at the latest Tucson Roller Derby bout. I'm glad I did! I had the Korean Pork Burrito and it was pretty darn good, while definitely on the messy side. Filled with delicious noodles, well seasoned meat, veg, and dressed with a sesame sauce with great spice. Not overly spicy but the flavor definitely builds. The portions are huge though and I'm glad I split the burrito. Bam Bam, I'll be back! read more

I'm a super fan of Korean food trucks in California, so I was excited when I found this Meixcan/Korean food truck the other day. Although I was skeptical, the menu sounded fantastic so we gave it a go. Steak (bulgogi) tacos. Yes, please & thank you. The meat was tender, and there was lots of it. The seasoning was on point and it was just the right amount of juicy. The spicy pork on the other hand, was not my favorite. Just for the sheer fact that I couldn't eat it due to how spicy it was. I'm not big on spicy foods, but when the bf can't even deal... It's pretty gosh darned kickin'. He was dying. I can't say much on the flavor because it was impossible to tell for me. But he said he liked it, maybe with less of a punch. That's all we were able to try, because we had eaten at almost every other truck that was around... SO, we'll be sure to try the other items next time. I was a bit bummed because we were supposed to get sides of kimchi, according to the guy, but that didn't happen. I am writing my first review on Yelp to give a shout out to the Bam Bam food truck. While their "Buddha in a sombrero" logo horrifies me, their tasty vegetarian and vegan options delight me. I have had the tofu Korean tacos and the kimchi quesadilla. Both were light, yet filling and most definitely "nom" worthy. I look forward to trying more of their veg offerings. read more

Tried this when they were parked out near Tap & Bottle recently and I was not impressed. My baseline is Korean Twist in Portland and a korean taco truck I ate at in LA about 10 years ago. Bam Bam really didn't measure up to either. The steak tacos, not sure where the korean was coming...they were basically poorly executed carne asada. The kimchi on them was really bland and didn't taste like kimchi. The steak was overcooked and a lot of pieces were tough and gristle. Tortillas were not great. No cilantro. No bulgogi? No spicy chicken or pork? No rice or extra kimchi on the side? Are you sure this is Korean? Kimchi looks a bit sad, man. Pretty sure that overcooked meat in a old tortilla doused in sriracha does not merit marketing as korean taco. The guys running it were friendly enough. I might try the burger if I am in a pinch as people seem to like it. Seems like Bam Bam needs to step up their game. Not feeling it. suggest a field trip to PDX for a round at Korean Twist and KOI Fusion for some inspiration as I think Tucson desperately needs these food carts to be top notch, not just a novelty! read more

Okay, I am ALL about these Korean tacos. I tried a steak taco and it was seriously the epitome of comfort food, aka a divine blend of greasy, savory, sweet, and salty goodness that satisfied all my cravings. This is definitely one of my favorite Tucson Food Trucks! Korean Mexican food served up in a little red truck certainly won't disappoint. This truck has been around for a few years now and so I think I've sampled every item on their menu. The pork noodles are the BEST! A very generous serving of noodles, a little sweet, a little spicy and served with tofu, pork or chicken. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! The kimchi quesadilla is my second favorite on the menu, kimchi is sooo good and when mixed with tortillas and cheese, its a very savory dish. Along that same line, the kimchi tacos are great too, and its a smaller dish too, so not all their dishes are extra large. These guys also sell Kurij, which is supposed to be a healthy alternative to soda, good for your teeth? Maybe! Tucson has its collection of great food trucks but this one stands out from the rest and I hope it sticks around for a long long time. read more

I realllly was hoping that I'd be able to give this place a higher rating. The presentation of all the food was immaculate, the guy working the truck was courteous, and the food came out timely given that it was a one man food truck. I tried the bam bam burger, steak tacos, steak quesadilla, and steak yakisoba. The rib eye meat in all of these items was overly sweet and all of the items were excessively greasy. He has good ideas, they just need refining. Out of all the items I tried, I recommend the cheese and steak quesadilla. The bam bam burger was farrrr too rich, the overly sweet meat was drowning in a fat laden cheese and spicy mayo blanket. The yakisoba noodles were cooked perfectly but the seasoning combo just didn't work for me. Finally I'd just straight up say stay away from the tacos- there was nothing to them. He didn't skimp on ingredients it was just overly sweet meat with lettuce on top, I'd imagine it'd be better with something like a sesame and vinegar cabbage slaw with red onions to balance out the taste and texture. read more

This place is a disgrace to MaFooCo which they basically ripped off. They literally TRIED to be the same truck all the way up to the logo while adding disgusting new items and failing miserably with the original items. I've been several times and the orders are always screwed up from asking for extra salsa to completely giving us the wrong order. The meat is very very very sweet and too much to stomach. These guys never show up on the time that they advertise either. I don't know what happened, but this truck was much much better when it was the real MaFooCo. read more

Usually have no issues with this place, great food though a bit expensive for what you get. Came in on 2/20 and had a really weird experience - their Facebook said they'd open at 11, a friend texted them and they said they'd be ready at 11:30, but the door didn't open until after 12:00. They seemed extremely disorganized that night - at one point they lost a girl's credit card (found it in a bucket). The week before they had no noodles at like 9:00, which are 3/4 of my reason for coming here (yakisoba and burritos both have noodles inside). Great food, just seem a bit disorganized. Would recommend the burritos and tacos. Granted, I have had no bad experiences previously, just the last two weeks left a slightly bad taste in my mouth. read more

Wow! I have had a lot of tacos but the steak tacos at Bam Bam truck are the best ever!! I went to the food truck rally with my family tonight and tried lots of things. Kadooks shrimp plate, BBQ rush brisket and pulled pork, cheesy riders chicken tenders and fries, and Turkish spinach and feta dish. While I was running around ordering my husband ordered tacos from Bam Bam. Not my first choice! Boy was I wrong. The steak tacos were the best dish on the table!!!!! I will be back for the steak. Bam Bam is terrific, every bit as good as it was when it was mafooco. I try to go there every sunday at Himmel Park.. My favorite is the Korean Taco's, spiced just right and tender beef. The chicken is very good also. I've had everything on the menu except for the Bam Bam burger which i'm going to try this wednesday evening at Cambell and Fort lowell. My only problem with them is i tend to eat way too much every time i go. read more
