This particular company is well established and has a long history in the area. My friends and I did the tour on a Saturday night as part of our annual girls trip (ghost tours are one of our favorite activities). Leanna was a fantastic tour guide and she kept us entertained, laughing, and had lots of great stories to share. I've been on some ghost tours that were more history focused with less actual ghost stories, but I found this one to be a nice balance. Leanna shared some key history of the Fells Point area as we visited some historic sites like the grave of William Fell and the location of the Fell homestead. She also had plenty of stories about the hauntings and even specific buildings that experience the most paranormal activity. She even had a few personal stories of her and her past tour groups own encounters. The tour lasted about an hour and a half and was a pretty easy walking loop around Fell's Point that starts and ends at the harbor. Our group really enjoyed it and all of us agreed was one of the best ghost tours we've been on. I don't think I can express accurately how much I recommend Baltimore Ghost Tours, but I will do my best. My friends and I had an absolute nightmare of a travel day from Houston and ended up in Baltimore almost 24 hours after our expected arrival time. This put us getting to Fells Point after the start of our Haunted Pub Crawl tour. Melissa was amazing in helping to accommodate us; she was truly a light in an otherwise disastrous start to our vacation. Not only did she offer to push the start time back (we were the only one's booked on the tour at the time), she also figured out how long it would take us to get from a new airport to Fells AND booked us on a tour the following day just in case. We ended up arriving about 30 minutes late (thanks to MORE airplane troubles!), and additional people had booked the tour by then, but Melissa let us know the order of the tour so we could meet Craig, our tour guide, wherever he was when we got there. The customer service was a 10/10. Now, onto the actual tour. What a blast we had!! Craig was so kind and understanding to us late arrivals. He made us feel instantly welcome and like we had been there from the start. He is one of the best storytellers I've ever heard and such a pleasure to talk to. I was on the Mount Vernon ghost tour. It started at the Belvedere, which is home to the Owl Bar and the center of the Unsolved Mysteries case of the body found in a weird location. I learned a bit more about Baltimore history on the ghost tour, but unfortunately, I missed the blurb about 14 Read Street, which is haunted and for sale currently. It ended at the Engineer's Room, which is an amazing space and a great ghost story for those interested in learning more about the history of Mount Vernon in Baltimore. Other places to check out after the ghost tour would be the plaque at the 7/11 below the Washington Monument about the ouija board, the witch board museum in Hampden, and the Greenmount cemetery to spot Elijah Bond's grave. read more

I can't lie, I was a bit hesitant to go because of the existing reviews. They were so mixed. As a precaution, I booked in a way that I could get my money back if the tour was a no-show. I booked the Fells Point tour. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Our tour guide, Tim was great. He was very animated and inviting. We had a large tour group. Had to be about 25-30 people. The tour went by so fast. We got 3 stories in before it was 1 hour. Bonus point for the weather adding to the dramatics. It rain briefly by the grave we visited lol SPOOKY. My husband and I don't believe in ghosts but we wanted to do something other than just drink in a bar, so we signed up for the ghost tour on our last night in Baltimore. At $17 a person for an hour tour, it was a fun and affordable evening. The meeting spot was at Fell's Point Square, just outside of Max's Taphouse, which was convenient. We easily spotted the tour guide, Brandon, who was dressed as one would expect a guide on a ghost tour to be dressed (a bit eccentrically, in a black suit, possibly with a top hat -- I no longer recall if he actually was wearing a top hat or if I am making that up, but he seems like the kind of guy who would be wearing a top hat). There were about a dozen or so people on the tour, which was a good size. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, it doesn't matter, because the tour is really about learning the history of the area, which my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed, and Brandon was very entertaining. Went on the Fells Point Ghost Tour on a September Friday night, which lasted about an hour, wrapping around the block from Lancaster & Broadway, down Shakespeare, Bond, Thames, and back to where we started. The entire tour was outside. My partner and I were joined by just two others, a father and pre-teen daughter. The tickets described the tour as "family-friendly," but tour guide Leanna included a fair bit about prostitutes, which is part of Fells Point history and I appreciated, but I don't think is appropriate to call "family-friendly." Leanna played the part of a ghost tour guide with dramatic story telling, "leave it to your imagination"s, and some "anyone know the difference between an apparition and a ghost" questions, complete with heavy black eyeliner. However, the stories felt like hearsay rather than based on researched history into the neighborhood, residences, and bars. The haunts weren't based on specific historical figures, so she would point at a street and say "they say you can see a man pacing here at certain hours of the night," which I can do down any poorly-lit alley - exceptions were discussing Poe at "The Horse You Came in On" saloon and the Fell Family at the Fell Family cemetery, which I had known going into it. I didn't feel like I learned any new history, which was disappointing. Admittedly, I am a non-ghost believer, so I was prepared to suspend some disbelief going into the tour, but the lackluster stories asked for too much of me. Being able to include historical tidbits in the ghost stories would have made them feel more real. What really put a bad taste in my mouth was when Leanna dismissed a man panhandling by swinging her umbrella at him and leaning towards the tour attendees conspiratorially to say something along the lines of "You know these drug-addicted schizophrenics. When you've been doing this as long as I have, you know how to handle them." I've lived in Baltimore for five years and have encountered my fair share of homeless folks and panhandlers and never have I thought to dismiss them with my umbrella like an animal nor call them a "drug-addicted schizophrenic." I found it unprofessional and cruel, and I was disturbed that she found it okay to do in front of customers. Out tour went inside 2 pubs during the tour and a third at the end (Bertha's, The Horse, and Cat's Paw). The ghost stories were told in more of a historical context than a scary way. I had a really good time and I can't wait to go back to do their haunted pub tour when it's just me and my boyfriend. I've been on several ghost tours including Frederick, Key West, St Augustine and Harper's Ferry. This one ranked pretty close to the top. It wasn't particularly scary. It was more of a history tour with some incidental ghost stories thrown in, but I learned more about Fell's Point than I ever thought imaginable in such a short time. The guide was surprisingly knowledgeable about local history and was able to answer some pretty random questions that were thrown at him about particular buildings and the area in general. I did the Ghost tour (not the drinking one) on a Sunday night and there was a group of about 8 of us. Tim was our tour guide and I appreciated that he was on time and organized. We had never done a Ghost Tour before so we weren't sure what to expect but I thought this was a great way to start out our trip. Tim was knowledgeable about the area's history and was captivating when he told the stories. He seemed generally enthusiastic about what he was saying which then makes it more interesting. I never felt particularly scared, but that was fine by me. Apparently tips are expected - I would almost rather that they just charge a little more and don't ask for tips. I highly recommend this tour if it is your first time in the area. This was definitely a fun way to change up the norm of staying in or going to the same old bars all the time. We met outside of Max's, crossed into the square and gathered for our first round of ghost stories. Were they true??? Who knows! But they were fun! And Tim was great at telling them, being goofy and engaging. We went to four different bars, two of which I had been to, and two of which I had never heard of! So it was a good mix, I think. I'm glad I was able to try out a few places I probably wouldn't have if it had been up to me. Why the 3 stars? It could have been that it was 25 degrees that night but other than the initial story, all the other ones took about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then we rushed into the bars. So I felt like the $22 was a bit of an overcharge. If I'm paying for stories, I want more stories! But like I said, the temperature may have influenced that so I would still recommend it to someone looking for a fun couple of hours. read more

I've participated in a couple haunted tours...I thought this was the worst one I've ever been on. The information was interesting, not at all scary, and delivered very poorly. One of the stories from Bertha's bar was about a bar tender who went upstairs alone... "He saw a ghost and she started singing a song but they didn't know what the song was. And they were never able to figure out who the kid was because so many children here of yellow fever." Yep, that was literally it. And then we went into the bar. And it was like that four separate times. Just kinda of lame. I really felt like it could have been much more interesting and engaging but it was the story teller/tour guide (Annalise, and thankfully it was her last tour). This was my first trip to Maryland, I went to visit my friend who has lived here for a few years so we were super excited to spend the weekend in Fells Point and take the Haunted Pub Tour! Let me start with the pros: Guide was on time, he dressed the part and he was organized. He did roll call and counted heads before we left for the tour and after we left the pubs. No pub crawler left behind! He clearly new the history of the area and the pubs. Now, the cons: I felt the history lessons weren't well balanced with the subject matter. We wanted to feel spooky but we never felt that way. Also, the guide mentioned several times that the group was essentially responsible for his buzz, which I understand would be his "gratuity" for lack of better term, but when my friend and I returned to our table at the first pub with our drinks and didnt bring one for him, we got a look... it was uncomfortable to say the least. We had heard another member of the crawl ask what he liked to drink and I knew the tour was only 2 hours so we clearly werent sitting at the bar too long. We had more to see and I am sure we could buy him a beer elsewhere. After a few minutes of asking where everyone was from from, we got a rundown of the guides resume. No ghost stories. Sigh. After that it was on to the next pub where we got a history lesson on cabbage patch kids and then a very, very short sidenote about the bartender who worked there who allegedly haunts the place and how much he hated them.
