This is a beautiful and informative visitor center located at the inner harbor in Baltimore. It has several panels describing the various areas of Baltimore so you can go and explore all the neighborhoods and things to do and see in Baltimore. The building is located along the water at the inner harbor and has glass windows looking out to the harbor so the surroundings are bright and beautiful. They also have a small gift shop that sells merchandise. read more

This is great place to rest and relax in the busy inner harbor area. I appreciate that the souvenirs are affordable and the workers are very knowledgeable. I was looking for the Visit Baltimore sign and they gave easy and accurate directions on how to get there. Bathrooms are clean and brightly lit. read more

Bottom Line: A beautiful building that highlights provides great information on how to experience the best of Baltimore. Wow! What a great visitor's center. Admittedly I ended up in here on a Friday morning to get out of the rain but I really enjoyed the Baltimore Visitors Center. The front and sides of the building are almost all glass so from inside you can get great views of Baltimore. There are various very well done boards/plagues that talk about different activities in Baltimore whether your're leaning towards a sporting event, family friendly activities, soaking in some culture or learning about history. There are a handful of 30 minute parking spots behind the visitors center in case you want to stop in here before deciding where to park. Although the Inner Harbor is famously touristy there are many other interesting neighborhoods in Bal'mor like Federal Hill, Hampden and Fells Point. read more

Good first stop when visiting Baltimore. Located at the middle of the inner harbor, right on the promenade; couldn't be easier to find. Beautiful building, beautiful view. Volunteer was helpful, very talkative, and his pride in his city just radiated! Lots of brochures. read more

While walking along the harbor, I stumbled across this beautiful welcome center. Inside, there are sofa chairs, chargers, welcoming staff and most importantly: very clean restrooms! Therefore, if you are in the area and you are exhausted from exploring, this is the place to rest at! There are brochures about where to go, what to see and what to eat! I liked how they had children's books and toys in case parents wanted to relax a bit. One of the staff told us that they have short presentations on learning about the history and landmarks of Baltimore, but I opted out because I wanted to explore the city myself. The reason why I took off one star because one staff kept trying to guess my ethnicity. He welcomed me to the city warmly, but then kept wanting to know where "my family is from". Luckily for him, I do not take these things to heart, but it really can offend some people! read more

Opened in 2004, the Baltimore Visitor Center is conveniently located near Baltimore's inner harbor shops and restaurants. They have plenty of brochures and maps, with staff there to assist with travel, sightseeing, dining (for the Yelp-less), and other local attractions. You'll also find some informational signs and displays providing a brief overview of the history and significance of Baltimore. The last time we visited, they had a small theater area, showing a 10-15 minute video overview of the area, but they apparently don't use this room any more. They have a new GPS-enabled digital guided tour in the works, consisting of portable video players and accompanying headphones. I guess people would leave a credit card deposit (and pay any usage fee) to take these devices out for a spin. Also missing from my last visit were the free packets of Old Bay seasoning...please bring that back! Whenever I visit Baltimore, I like to take on a sightseeing adventure or two, mixing it in with some local food and fun. I'm glad I stopped by the Visitor Center this year, as one of their friendly staffers directed me to Fort McHenry (celebrating the bicentennial of the War of 1812 this year) that I wouldn't have thought to visit otherwise. read more

Oasis in Inner Harbor on a hot day. Huge visitor center with AC and comfortable seats. Bathrooms and water fountains were clean. Friendly guides at the counter. There were even a kid playing area and device changing station. read more

Pretty high end Visitor Center. Great building, lots of pamphlets, and great staff. Bought a trolley ticket online and they were really helpful getting our tickets and getting us routed to the bus. The tour was just ok...but Im not reviewing that. A small gift shop. I was impressed that they had LGBT guides to the city up front and out (so to speak) where they were easy to find and see. For a visitor center they have lots of missing brochures that rarely seem to get restocked and some of things they have hundreds of clearly never move. But the volunteers here are top notch. We had a great discussion with Mel this past Sunday and it's people like him that truly put a great face on the town and what it has to offer with their friendly and knowledgeable insight. read more

Located right on the Inner Harbor, this is the place to go to find ALL of the brochures you could possibly need. History walking/biking trails and tours, sightseeing, restaurants, museums, anything and everything that is worth checking out in Baltimore is represented here (caveat--that means everything and anything worth checking out for a tourist. It is a visitor center). They also have a charging stand and air conditioning if it's a hot day and your phone is dying. Glad we came here early in our trip to book some tours and get fliers and ideas for meals, museums, and sightseeing. read more

Good maps and pamphlets on things to do. But the information we received was so incorrect it caused us problems. We were told 1. Purple shuttle would take us to the modern art museum.... nope. It only takes you up to 1.5 miles short of it. We had to get a Lyft the rest of the way. 2. While their website was adequate their mobile version of the website is pathetic. Can't open a working/viable PDF of the routes. Can't see anything without turning phone sideways on one screen and upright the next. 3. Tried to buy souvenirs and the computer had to be restarted just to work. 4. Bus route schedule was nearly unreadable. Ok so I'm no dummy. I can navigate City bus maps and subway maps in major US cities. I've been all over this country and haven't found a more disorganized bus schedule than in Baltimore. Do yourself a favor and download the Uber or Lyft app and use that to travel the city. It's all worth the eight bucks per trip. read more

They were very nice and helpful. We took the walking tour. Our guide was wonderful.

We stopped in at the Baltimore Visitor's Center mostly for a pee break while killing some time around the Inner Harbor. Once we got inside, we found that the building was full of displays and TONS of information of various restaurants, museums, stores, sites, and basically anywhere you might be thinking about going while visiting the area. If they don't have a brochure for it, it probably doesn't exist. We wound up walking around and looking through the different places, grabbing a few brochures and finding a few places we hadn't heard of. There is also some informational info on the history of the area so it doesn't just provide you with the brochures but some info of its own. My husband wound up finding out about the Harbor pass thing option which allows you to pay a reduced price for a number of locations around the Inner Harbor. You get tickets to the aquarium, Visionary Museum, Top of the World, Science Center, and a couple other options. We had planned to do several of those things and did the math and realized we'd save some cash buying that so we did. They print you out your tickets to the different places and give you info on their tour times, open hours, etc. It is all quite handy, really. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The building is really nice and about as convenient as you can get being right in the inner harbor. The Harbor Pass thing is a pretty good deal if you plan to hit several of the major Inner Harbor spots. And they've got tons of info for all the different places you might be going. Pretty much a one stop shop for all your tourist needs. Oh, and the bathroom was nice too! read more

It's very well maintained and the volunteers are so friendly and helpful. They play a short video about Baltimore which was really interesting and helped us plan the rest of our visit. Volunteers can guide you with regard to public transportation and how to get to the major sights. read more

They should open earlier, especially on summer weekends due to the morning Waterfront Wellness classes etc. It was bad enough when they didn't open until 9 but this summer they've cut back another hour to 10 so there are no public bathrooms at all. It would make a lot more sense to cut back the hours at night instead of in the morning when more people are working out. read more

I have lived in Baltimore all my life and never been until recently. The building is very night and has wonderful facts about the city. The two interactive activities boards are extremely helpful to find just the right place to eat or visit. A great stop for anyone visiting the city. read more

They have a gentleman giving van tours of the city during the week. Seems like a nice guy but he is real short of knowledge in his history. Everything he said about the USS CONSTELLATION was wrong, everything he said about the American Revolution was wrong and he has much of the story of the flag on Federal Hill wrong too. I don't know much about Baltimore so I can only imagine how much of that info he gave was inaccurate too. read more

This is not advertised anywhere - but the Harbor Pass has changed a lot. It does NOT include the Science Museum nor does it include the water taxi tickets. In addition, the science museum still lists itself on their website as being participants in the Harbor Pass. Misleading and annoying. read more
