This station services the commuters of Baltimore working in Washington DC. It also makes stops at several towns along the route. One way ticket costs $8. The small lobby was clean and well lit at night. Only problem is the limited operating hours. The last train leave Baltimore to DC at 8:05 a.m. The 1st train leaves DC at 4:13 p.m. for commuters going home. There are no services in between those two times. If you plan accordingly, it is a cheap way to travel to DC from Baltimore for sight touring.

The Camden MARC station is right on the back end of the Light Rail - all I have to do is hop off the train in the morning, and there I am, no walking, no inconvenience. There's only two tracks, so the train will come in on one or the other. There's a small waiting room for those who don't want to freeze to death. And the conductors seem to be a lot friendlier on this line as well, so that's a plus. There are a couple of negatives that prevent this from being a 5-star review: - The Camden line itself doesn't run enough trains. There's maybe 4 or 5 in the morning, 3 at night - that's it. I'm surprised, as this line goes through Laurel, which is really heavily populated. - The Camden line runs those awful single-level cars where everyone's squished into their seats. It's rare to get a bi-level car, but when you do, there's nothing better. This line is much quieter than Penn (despite having almost as many passengers) and, in my opinion, better run. If it was convenient to me in the afternoon I'd use it (unfortunately it takes twice as long to get home), but for the morning run it's perfect - I get off at Greenbelt, transfer to the Green line on WMATA, that's it - no more fussing around at Union Station trying to fight the masses on the Red line.... Love me some Camden.

They just restored MTA Light Rail service to the station as well and there are plenty of busses, taxis, and ride share to get around. Late at night the Dunkin and gift shop are closed so I tried for a sandwich from Farmers Fridge which vended but then the outlet slot got jammed, so had to get a refund and wait till I was home over an hour later to eat.

So I'm very aware that Penn Station is the train station with the fewest amenities at the station. There's a Dunkin' Donuts (which opens at 6:30am on weekdays and 7:30am on weekends) and a little convenient store that sells snacks and other items. And that's it. There are a few bathrooms, some seating, and the tracks. And that's the station. It has an attached parking garage, which is super expensive and a pain to enter, because the station's traffic lanes are stupidly designed and unless you're at the station at a really off-hour, there will be 17 Ubers stalled in the only lane you can drive down to get from St. Paul Street to the parking garage. Can you tell that this place has given me just a smidge of road rage? It definitely has. A while back (maybe 1-2 years ago), there was scaffolding all over the historic train station and there was talk of improvements. After it was all over, I couldn't really tell what they'd done. The station has some charm (the stained glass in the entry area), but it's not a great station. I'm glad it's there, because it allows me to go other places, but it's not a great train station. Baltimore's Light Rail, which as part of the Baltimore Link rebranding initiative is now formally called Light RailLink, runs from Hunt Valley in Baltimore County to Glen Burnie (Cromwell) in Anne Arundel County, 30 miles south. The Convention Center station is one of 33 stops on the Light Rail and is right next to the Baltimore Convention Center. It is also one block away from Camden Yards and the Royal Farms Arena. There are many other attractions close by as well as eateries, hotels and restaurants. The station is a simple outdoor platform with minimal signage and very few places to escape the elements. I think of the light rail as being a single north-south line with a branch for Penn Station and a branch for BWI airport but technically there are three routes as follows: 1. Hunt Valley-BWI (Blue) 2. Hunt Valley-Cromwell (Yellow), and 3. Penn Station-Camden Yards (Red) All three lines come through the Convention Center Station so be sure you get on the correct train if leaving from this station. Since this station is right in the city there is not any parking here.

This is not one of the better MARC stations…read more The cons: - you have to walk up or down about 2 flights rickety of stairs to get to the platform - the platform itself is very small, it will be crowded - there is no place to sit or shelter from the rain - because the platform is so small only 2 train cars stop at the platform; if you are getting off here you have to make sure you are at the right exit or you will miss the stop - the step up into the train is high. The conductor puts out a little step stool to help you onto the train stairs, however, these are high steps and if you have any sort of mobility problems, this may be an issue for you. On the upside, it has a large parking lot, so parking is easy.

But you can stay covered in one of the buildings fronting the station if you are headed to BWI Airport. Tolls were even lifted, so it was also free. Parking on site for game day is around $50. So big savings. The ride in was smooth and after 4-5 stops the arrival is st the stadium. I am deducting 1.5 star due to issues on the return train to my car. The train had issues with the car overfilled and a door not closing. It delayed us around 25 minutes. Of note the parking lot boast car chargers. I also felt completely safe. 3.5 rounding up and recommend.

Beware that the elevator is slow and not very big, so there will likely be a wait to use it.

There are two kiosks where you can purchase tickets, however one of them was broken when I was there, so there was a line forming. Fortunately, if you have the CharmPass app, you can buy tickets on your phone. There is no in-person kiosk so there is no one you can ask questions to. There is an elevator available as well if you do not want to/can not take the stairs. Amtrak trains do pass by this station, but do not stop here. You can only board the Marc trains at this station.

The cars never stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk, so if your train is coming there is definitely no time to grab a paper.
