Breakfast was good, with a few items laid out and then flexible made to order options. Dinner was good, homemade and fresh caught items.

The steak, ordered medium rare, came out a little more done than medium rare and was not a sirloin. The sticky toffee pudding was not bad, a little overly sweet. My friends got the salmon and the scallops. The scallops were absolutely great. The salmon that came as an appetizer was an imaginative dish: hot salmon on top of cold salmon. We enjoyed local beef, venison, salmon, and some delectable desserts. Chef was very warm, and always came out at the end of dinner service to say hello and chat about the meal. There are dozens of activities to participate in courtesy of the hotel and surroundings. We took advantage of the landscape, and did two beautiful hikes along the lochs, and partway up one of the nearby mountains.

The first dish we've had in Scotland where even the vegetables were seasoned. Perfect pastry and such savory flavors. We were almost too full for the pud! Almost. Toffee pudding and chocolate brownie were intensely sweet and yummy. After dessert, we were welcome to have tea in the parlor, but of course! Due to inclement weather and construction delays, we didn't arrive until 9:45 pm, but still received a very warm welcome. The receptionist gave us a quick tour of the ground floor - breakfast spot, where to get a drink, wifi info, and a better parking spot, and then walked us up to our second floor room to be sure everything was all set. 2. Breakfast. It's tasty and there are quite a few options available. Hours were 8-10 while we were there late March 2015. 3. Room comfort: the room and bathroom felt nice and updated, and was very comfortable. The only minor complaints were that the wifi didn't seem to reach our room so we could only use it in the lobby, and there weren't a lot of shelves in the bathroom or large places in the bedroom to place suitcases. But those were pretty minor since our overall experience was extremely lovely.
