Quaint and beautiful hotel we stayed two nights in to explore the Skye region. Check in was smooth and they upgraded us to a room overlooking the water since they had that room available. Room was sooooo amazing and cozy. We ate dinner at the restaurant the night we checked in. I had roast turkey and veggies which was incredible. The breakfast included for staying was remarkable - so much toast and butter, unlimited options for any diet that were hot or continental. We'll be back if we stay in Skye again.

I wanted so badly to give this place more stars and a really positive review but I also want to be honest. The hotel location is ideal. Close to the city center and the view looking out from the hotel is breathtaking! The room we stayed in was really quite nice overall. New furnishings, bedding and a modern flatscreen TV that you can hook up your laptop to. The bathroom is tired. Old sinks/faucets. The shower/bathtub was ok. We had an issue turning off the water to the tub. No one at the front desk when we called for help. Apparently it doesn't open until 7:30. Thank God my husband kept trying as we almost flooded the bathroom. We opted to have room service for dinner and it was incredible! One of the best meals we've had in the week while touring Scotland. Breakfast on the other hand was a hot mess. It came with the room rate so that was nice. They offer few hot options but don't make any special request as they simply can not handle it. They offer a selection of egg choices and potato. I ordered fried eggs, potato and bacon. After waiting 30 minutes they brought me what was listed on the menu. Not the egg I ordered, no potato but hey, they did have the black pudding I specifically said I didn't want. We were on a time constraint so I couldn't wait for them to try and make it again. The coffee was good as was the yogurt. There is little to no cell service on the island and the hotel WiFi is not reliable. The hotel needs some work but overall it was alright for a one night stay.

The service was excellent and the place was very welcome with great views. The food was so tasty and fresh. The seasoning on the sandwich was phenomenal! Probably one my favorite means in Scotland! You simply must eat here. It's worth it!

The hotel staff was lovely and helpful. We were smart enough to have made a dinner reservation before our arrival for our one night stay. Nice pubby dark wood décor and seating spread over a couple of rooms. Many tables occupied on our visit. Dinner menu Scottish leaning as to be expected. It was clear from the outset that they were low on staff with our (very young) server and water coming a good bit after seating. My partner was not real hungry this evening so chose to do a bowl of the soup the day-potato & leek. This came with a wonderful, fresh roll. The roll was pronounced fantastic. We have enjoyed many an excellent bread item in Scotland and this was another example here. They know what they're doing. The soup was very tasty but after a few spoonfulls, it became "boring". My choice was a Filet of Scottish Sea Trout (yes it is different from Salmon, Google it). Served with roasted new potatoes, braised leeks, herb crusted baby carrots, and smoked mussel butter sauce. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, as were the leeks. The carrots were interesting with the herb "crust", and the mussel sauce added an umami depth to the fish. Interestingly, the sauce included a few nicely cooked, out of the shell, mussels. A succulent addition. Loved every bite. For dessert, we chose a Cinnamon Apple Tart with Caramel Whipped Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream. All of this came together for a scrumptious finale to our meal. Especially the whipped cream. Perfect portion size also. Different planning could have put us here for a longer period of time and it would have been wonderful. If you are traveling in this area, try to either stay or eat here. You won't regret it. Highly recommended.
