As we asked our landlady from Bernisdale, Isle of Skye, for a nice place to dinner she recommended us this uber-great place, the Edinbane Inn.
After a short drive from the shores of the River Snizort, we landed at the Inn. The place was very busy which was a good sign and we were welcomed by a friendly front of house waitress - although it must be pointed out that all floor staff were multitasking between pub & restaurant punters.
We got our table in 3 minutes with the menus, drinks and all the board specials read out loud by our cool server.
I choose the Tarka Dhal Curry with Rice and Flatbread. Both my comrades picked the ubiquitous Fish and Chips.
All three courses arrived in a timely fashion, and oh boy it was great!!!
My curry was a taste of curry heavens, with properly balanced flavours and an aftertaste that confirm the former; a 10/10 culinary experience.
As I got a chunk of my pal F & C I can confirm you that my judgement can be extended to the fresh fish & its delicious croquant batter beer coat, best fish & chips ever, hands down!
Once we slaughtered the main meal we picked the Homemade Meringue with Fresh Cream and Berries and guess what, it was actually homemade... Chantilly Cream inclusive (that reminded me my mom's recipe) another full scoreboard marks for the chef!
The whole experience was so great that we booked a table for the next day (as well as 3 portions of the local Scottish Lamb to be available as they ran out of it on our first visit due to its popularity) and to cut it short it was another super-remarkable culinary treat!
So, we got the low roasted garlic and rosemary Scottish Lamb, crushed potatoes, roasted roots, pea puree and red wine gravy x 3. The lamb meat was juicy, flavoursome and tender... another summer blockbuster of locally harvested food.
For dessert two portions of Pannacotta and one of Whisky Parfait complemented a perfect evening.
From the friendly and efficient waiting & bar staff to the top of the range food offer and their affordable & down to earth prices, the Edinbane Inn is the place to dine; kudos to all of them and keep up the good work! read more
