In terms of food, I had the ham hock terrine, the Aberdeenshire sirloin steak, and the sticky toffee pudding. The terrine is a bit like corned beef mash and not bad. The steak, ordered medium rare, came out a little more done than medium rare and was not a sirloin. The sticky toffee pudding was not bad, a little overly sweet. My friends got the salmon and the scallops. The scallops were absolutely great. The salmon that came as an appetizer was an imaginative dish: hot salmon on top of cold salmon. The salmon that came as an entree was satisfactory and better than the steaks.

The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure that your needs and desires are met. From the included breakfast every morning to the offering of packed lunches for your daily hikes the team here is a cut above the rest. The rooms are large with beautifully updated, modern washrooms and showers. The tea kettles and assortment of coffee and teas(in room) are brilliant and the perfect touch.
