The lodges are furnished to a very high standard and are equipped with pretty much everything you would need. Electricity, central heating, and wi-fi are included, and a travel cot and highchair were provided at no extra charge (we have been charged extra for these basic utilities at other self-catering locations). We were lucky enough to stay in one of the lodges nearest to the river, with a balcony overlooking the grassy bank of the river - perfect for feeding the ducks! Eszter & John are on site to help with any problems or queries, and couldn't be lovelier, or more helpful! Logierait Lodges location makes it a perfect base for day trips, and it's beauty makes it perfect for those lazy days when you don't want to go far at all from your base. I would highly recommend Logierait Lodges & Chalets as the perfect location for your Perthshire holiday, whether it's for a family holiday, a break with friends, or a romantic break for two.

the Inn On The Tay

We also chose it because it had decent reviews, was one of only a few restaurants in the area, and the pictures of the food looked good. We arrived around 7:45 PM, an hour before closing, but didn't have a reservation. Although we are accustomed to places that are full and completely understand if no seating is available, this Sunday evening was exceptional. A hostess greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. We said that we did not and she promptly stated that they were completely booked and that there was no room for us without a reservation. I asked if we could simply attend the bar for a drink instead and she again shut me down by saying "No, we're fully booked." Generally, I'm accustomed to a bit of politeness. Perhaps apologizing or offering to make a reservation for me on another night may have been nicer. Alternatively, why not let us at least have a drink at the bar? I think what put us off was the stern tone and shortness that the hostess took with us. Her quick ability to deny us twice in a matter of seconds was surprising. We wouldn't recommend going here without a reservation. Instead we had to travel 9.4 miles to Pitlochry and enjoy Victorias Restaurant instead as no other restaurants were open in this area at that time. Victorias turned out to be quite good and we would definitely recommend going there instead of this Inn on the Tay. We also post more reviews on our EatWanderExplore travel blog.

The Inn decoration and style warrents a higher star rating but the overall experience brings it down :( The waitresses were efficient but lacked personality or warmth, little engagement before, during or after the order for food taken, disappointing. We had initially booked a room with 2 twin beds, just because it was cheaper, but just on the off-chance we could switch, asked for a double room. The only problem inside the hotel was that the sign pointing to the block of rooms where ours was, was backwards, so we wandered around lost for a few minutes before figuring it out. There is no parking lot, but if you stay here, you're allowed to park at their sister hotel's lot, which is just around the corner.
